young, but definitely easy to drink. Ruby in the glass with a strong, fresh nose & nice acidity amid a medium body/tannins & legs that take 45 seconds to run.

tart cherry, kirsch, forest floor, blood orange, some Italian herbs on the palate with a nice mineral finish -- I like it

this is a very good entry-level Brunello in the $40-50 range that drinks above its price-point. Has the potential to age 5+ years with maybe another point or so on the offer.

Terroir-istes International - Italy-Piedmont-Barolo-Aldo Conterno (Rodwell House): Intense raspberry and blackberry aromas are joined by crushed black peppercorns and some cedarwood. The wine is powdery and pillow soft yet with thick, dense tannins. Brooding, it seems quite taut at this point. Finishes with crushed raspberry and some savoury element of worn leather jacket. Great wine. nice ageing notes, I believe this is peaking and will not improve from here, but might stay as it is for a while. A bit unbalanced upon opening, but a couple of hours in the decanter did the job. Highly balanced, very nice teritary notes, ripe fruit so nice integrated oak. Recent purchase. First time drinking Fossacolle which is located in Tavernelle, only minutes away from Soldera. Precisely drawn dark berries, herbs, neither overripe nor overly rich, no signs of oxidization. Nice delineation and also freshness, integrated tannins. Very good 2010 BdM to drink now or over the next 10 years. 92-93 (627 views)
