Somewhat open more so than I thought it would be but still has tannins and acidity that need to shed for it to show its best. Excellent qpr. for a 30 year old burgundy, and at $111 (including tax / shipment) this was excellent... only 92 pts by my take but with the elegance and complexity that is only generated over decades... yum... I'm now hunting the US for these types of 'aged' opportunities... of course nothing like our 1990 Clos de Tart had on our anniversary (married in 1990 on Jan 20th)... that bottle was SPECTACULAR (128 views)

93-94+. This has improved dramatically since my last tasting. It has become much more complex. Pale gold color. Complex bouquet of almonds, citrus, minerals, slate, olives and herbs. This starts off on the beginning tasting like a smokey herbaceous melon citrus complex fruit. Then on the mid palette it has lemon, lime, citrus, minerals and loads of acidity. On the finish a long finish with good fruit, uplifting acidity, minerals, slate. It still feels like it has a lot more development to go in the bottle but it is showing a lot more than previous. Unfortunately it is very complex and I am having a hard time finding all the right adjectives for this one. Tasted side by side with the 2020 Aegerter meursault which was equally impressive but this came across as more complex today. I still think this needs another year or two to develop in the bottle possibly longer period and it should last for at least 5 years From then. It takes very well structured and balanced with lots of concentration and complexity. (602 views)

2 1/2 hour decant (mag decanter). Nose: Complex aromas of Burg funk, topsoil, Stargazer lily, and iron. Classic NSG! Palate: Somewhat light but with soft tannins, good acid levels and precise red fruits. The pungeant Stargazer lily is evident with cherries and a fairly long, yet elegant finish. This was quite impressive and for only $40/btl on sale I will be reloading as this makes a great cellar defender while you wait for more backward Burgs to reveal themselves. (112 views)

Great qpr. The start off a little bit tart on both the pallet and the bouquet but that just needed some time to open up. After about an hour of breathing you get some dark trees strawberries and dark fruit. Nice acidity and some tannins. Starting to drink well now but not at peak. Likely needs a another two to three years before getting to Peak and should last for at least 5 Years From then (640 views)

decanted mid afternoon for three hours, drank over four hours in the evening, this was nice (for the price - $83 w/tax+shp), got better with air but throughout had only a modest body with elegance and hints of fruit peeking out from the acidity and mild soil / wood flavors, at first wondering about the alcohol, but turned out to be 13.2% so it was simply the modest body / fruit levels and the good acidity level that made me think for a moment that it was maybe a tiny bit hot (but not in a bad way)... in the end my son and I said "really liked it" (89 views)

92-93+ slightly dark Ruby color. Gorgeous bouquet of smoke, burnt rubber, Earth with similar flavors along with flavors of tomato, dark cherries, dark earthy fruits. Very good concentration and complexity. A Step Above his Hautes-Côtes de Beaune VV tasted next to it. While this wine drink well upon opening it opened up a lot more after several hours of breathing. Enjoyable now it will certainly benefit from aging. Likely at Peak from 2028 to 2036. Excellent qpr. Cellar selection. (760 views)

92-93+ nice Ruby color. Cherry slightly tomato bouquet with a hint of smoke and Earth. Medium bodied with good concentrated fruit, excellent balance, good acidity and tannins. Flavors of dark cherry, tart cherry, tomato, Earth with a long acidic finish. Approachable now that still is not at peak. Likely best from 2028 to 2031 or longer. Excellent qpr. (624 views)
