beautiful on my son's bday... just like the Gambal 2017 St. Aubin En Remilly we had alongside but with some added flavor elements that are quixotic and classic for the best of the '16 white burgs I've had recently... maybe a little umami on top of the acid / citrus... A beautiful bouquet of dark cherries, mushrooms, and damp forest floor, with a bit of spice. The front palate comes across a bit thin but follows through with black cherries, sour cherries, earthiness, and cedar box. Currently, the wine feels like it’s in a bit of a slump - the nose is beautiful, but on the palate, the wine is drinking a bit awkward: thin on the front palate and pronounced oak on the finish.
