PNP. Could have used an hour decant. Tannins not completely resolved. Very drinkable now but will be better in 5 plus years. Earth, dark berry. Great mouthfeel and well balanced. Excellent wine. (6 views)

Quel vin que ce toscan! Jamais il ne déçoit et il vieillit tellement bien. Ce 2011 était un nectar des Dieux, carafé 2 heures et dégusté en accompagnement d'un champvallon à l'agneau. Menoum!! (9 views)

On the nose, rich round and sweet dried cherries, figs and plums, with some wild strawberries and what I imagine a boysenberry to smell like (basically something between blackberry and raspberry?). Lovely liquorice, tobacco, clove and a touch of leather and cedar add complexity, as well as dried herbs something that smells like a particularly floral tea.

Similar notes in the mouth (though the fruit takes on a much figgier quality, in an enjoyable way), with a finish that far outlasts the temptation to have another sip. I really loved this.

I saved a little in the fridge but couldn't get to it the next day, and sadly on day 3 this had lost a lot of it's joy. NB some sediment snuck into that last glass too! (47 views)

This was a lovely showing; red fruited and supremely elegant; hints of mint and orange peel, but still really quite primary with red currant, raspberry, and tart cherry. Super pure, elegant, ethereal and delicious. Not a powerful vintage of Montevertine, but its at age 10 and sailing along. Wish I had a few more. (46 views)

sweet blackberry, graphite, cocoa (don't know the percent merlot, but felt recognizable). some mild tertiary leather notes starting to appear. I think it's firmly in the drinking window now. There's some very, very slight boot polish volatile acidity that detracts from a higher score. (21 views)

A tart yet welcoming table wine here. Cherry and raspberry make the most striking brushstrokes on the palate, with oak and pomegranate offering a supporting role. Nicely smoky on the nose, with hints of plum, tomato leaf and burnt rubber. Starts out easy with a medium body and supple tannins before moving towards a lengthy, dry and ticklish finish. Decent value to be found in this bottle, which particularly benefits from ample air time. (21 views)

An arch of spring flowers and a whiff of lemongrass hits the nose carried by a cool breeze. A nice dryness underscored by graphite, stone fruit and grapefruit pops nicely without becoming a fruitbomb. Poised, balanced and charming. Terroir and a joyous minerality offer a strong sense of composure that really holds it all together from start to finish. (16 views)

Deep aromas of leather, oak, smoke and jammy dark fruit meets a creamy mouthfeel that crescendos into medium tannins that hang on for a while. Really blooms impressively with a good decant. Everything happens synergistically here, and the nice bit of minerality adds subtle brushstrokes to this wonderfully earthy supertuscan's ouevre of bramble and woodland noise. Dark decadence from top to bottom. (20 views)

This wine is already in a bottle bingo state. The last two I opened in 20 and 22 were past peak and not enjoyable. This bottle was the phoenix from the ashes.
It still had primary notes, which were well integrated with the aging notes. Everything not overly complex, but really enjoyable. (25 views)

Screwcap. Lemon yellow in colour showing yellow fruits on the nose (lemon, yellow melon and possibly pineapple!). Medium in body with a luxury slightly viscous and weights and coming over as very pure and crystalline. A little too much Tuscan sunshine showing through for my wife as she found it too sweet. I liked it but wouldn't rush to reload. (34 views)
