One of my favorite producers! Ruby red with some bricking. Nose of red cherry, vanilla, cloves and tobacco. On the palate red cherry, vanilla, cloves, chocolate, leather and cigar box. Velvety tannins with surprising acidity and a medium to long finish. Very elegant and obviously could take a long while more of cellar age. Excellent! (127 views)

Ardanza 2010… opened a full bottle at 5pm and all gone by 6pm with the help of the Boss of the house. So so good. This isn’t a tannin attack at all, much more approachable to my last bottle in 2021. Very long, concentrated deep red fruits. Soft and silky, not blocky at all. This is excellent and will be brilliant. (272 views)

Decanted three hours before tasting during our Monday Night Wine tasting…a nice wine. Went well with lamb. Sour cherries, oak and good acid…this was a blind tasting and most guessed Rioja. I wouldn’t be surprised if this improves with a little age. (76 views)
