A full-bodied Napa cabernet sauvignon with nice complexity. Red fruits & black berries, some tobacco & earthiness. Medium to light tannins and good mouthfeel.

Should hold up nicely for a few more years.

On opening, this bottle was flat. Some leather, earthiness, and medium tannins. Little fruit in evidence. Put it away& back to it on Day 2. Much more interesting, with bramble fruit & red berries coming forward. So either put this one away for at least a couple years, or plan on a long decant. (583 views)

Very dark, inky purple. Not as fruit-forward as when tasted younger, but tannins more integrated. Nice black fruit, saddle leather & slight graphite. Nose isn't as pronounced as I'd remembered at the winery, but this is a 2006 vintage. Has thrown quite a bit of sediment, so decant or pour carefully at his point. (3895 views)

Was worried, as we’ve pushed this past the recommended drinking window. Shouldn’t have been concerned. Drinking well. Much more nuanced than the first bottle we had back around 2011. Nice earthiness. It's "Open That Bottle Night", folks. So I opened this ten year old beauty. Stellar. In a perfect window right now. Very aromatic, with notes of dark fruits & violets. Silky, velvety, with lush mouthfeel. Good fruits, primarily black cherry, currants, & some dark fruits. Tannins are medium & there is mild oakiness. Believe this is a perfect time for this wine, if you have some in your cellar. (5163 views)

Not as I remember it from the tasting. Very "tart apple" forward. Almost to the exclusion of everything else. Low acidity. Creamy mouthfeel. Really didn't even make me think it was a Pinot Blanc.
