Aerated in decanter 30 minutes, could have used 60. Lovely medium garnet toward ruby core, no sign of age. Pepper, be it black, or green bell, is a funny thing. Sometimes it can be too overbearing. In this case, the pepper was spot on, nearly equal parts of fresh cracked black pepper and straight from the garden green bell pepper. Aromas of apricot and plum dart in and out. After 10 minutes, the pepper and spice component begins to take a backseat to attractive red floral, blue and black berry characteristics. Some oak nuance is there on the nose and palate. Everything is in great harmony here. Lively acids, medium tannins, medium (-) finish. My only nit here is a small hole on the back palate. Medium bodied, this has the stuffing to last another decade. 14.1%, drink 2013-2019 (1079 views)

Drank casually with friends and didn't give it much time to open up, but it was obvious this is a nice wine. Very balanced. Floral nose, juicy on the palate and firm finish. No expert, but it seems this will cellar for quite a bit. (906 views)

Decanted 3 hours. Dark ruby core with a wildly perfumed nose of floral, spice, toast, and with some time in the glass, chocolate, cherry and a kiss of vanilla. A medium + body that never oversteps and manages a clean finish with grippy tannins and a nearly 30 second finish. This should drink well thru 2016, 13,7% abv, approx $27. Good, but a bit disappointing. Rather watery at the front but builds to dark fruit at the back of the palate. A nice nose of oak but very very dry in the mouth. (1186 views)
