2005 Bergevin Lane Merlot  (USA, Washington, Columbia Valley)Washington Merlot and Twitter Tasting, Episode #833 (3/17/2010)Gary VaynerchukWine Library TV
Merlot - Columbia Valley, WA. #1; COLOR-dark; NOSE-Wow, a heavy dose of oak; some nice raspberry fruit as well; PALATE-more complexity on the mid-palate; good structure, good fruit; a little minerality on the back-end makes this more Bordeaux-like; I do love this crushed rock, vegetal action on the back-end; well made; GV-89 89 points
2008 Charles Smith Merlot The Velvet Devil  (USA, Washington, Columbia Valley)Washington Merlot and Twitter Tasting, Episode #833 (3/17/2010)Gary VaynerchukWine Library TV
Merlot - Columbia Valley, WA. #3; VaynerPAZZZ; COLOR-dark; NOSE-very candy-like cherry on the attack; a little vanilla oak action that concerns me a little; PALATE-solid dark chocolate on the mid-palate surrounded by good amount of oak; solid red fruit; not to inspiring or interesting; a little awkward and disjointed on the finish; a little rusty nail juice meet red fruit; it's OK, but doesn't do much for me; GV-84 84 points
2005 Long Shadows Wineries Merlot Pedestal  (USA, Washington, Columbia Valley)Washington Merlot and Twitter Tasting, Episode #833 (3/17/2010)Gary VaynerchukWine Library TV
Merlot - Columbia Valley, WA. #2; COLOR-dark; NOSE-a little cranberry that I like quite a bit; subtle nose; really nice; hot chocolate powder as well; PALATE-very focused fruit; very dark; a lot of plums on the attack and a little prune juice on the mid-palate which I like quite a bit; comes together nicely; sour cherries on the back-end; good complexity; a little chalkiness; good full bodied structure and weight; well made with good complexities throughout, although a little expensive; JM-94; GV-90 90 points
