2011 Col Solare (USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Red Mountain) 5/28/2023uncle fester91

Had this after a 2003 Gemstone G. Not as enjoyable as the Gemstone but still a delicious bottle. (262 views)

2011 Col Solare (USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Red Mountain) 9/18/2021SGates91

Nice mature WA Cab. Cork broke on removal so was worried wine was past its time but it was excellent. Nice bricking around the edges. Still plenty of dark flavors, blackberry, dark cherries, chocolate. Nice finish. (886 views)

Not sure how to assess. Nose seems closed, but fruit is ripe and juice is pure. I don’t see the allure at this price point though. Maybe wait a year to check back. (2101 views)

2011 Col Solare (USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Red Mountain) 3/4/2018Sourdough90

Pleasant but surprisingly light nose. Rather dark. Very good mouthfeel. Silky smooth with some volume evolving to distinct acidity and fine tannins. Lovely fruit. (2538 views)

2011 Col Solare (USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Red Mountain) 7/20/2017srwatters91

A little tight on open. Decanted through aerator and waited a short while. Definitely improved during consumption over the next hour. Silky mouthfeel with plenty of fruit and good acid. Recommend with food for sure. (3373 views)

2011 Col Solare (USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Red Mountain) 6/24/2017caldocane91

A very fine bottle. It definitely had some persistent oak, but I'm good with that, as it was backed up with ripe (not overripe) fruit. Went well with a ribeye. (2929 views)

2011 Col Solare (USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Red Mountain) 2/4/2017wmccone5491

Restaurant purchase. Decanted prior to and during dinner. Surprisingly good given the somewhat mediocre and cool weathered vintage. Lifted aromatics and ripe dark fruit flavors without green notes. Balanced, and integrated, culminating in a solid finish. (2995 views)

2011 Col Solare (USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Red Mountain) 12/28/2016AGELVIS85

Decent red blend, but the weak nose and somewhat flat palate left me unimpressed. Some red fruit and a hint of earth on the nose. Fruity palate with medium short finish. I won't buy this again based upon its poor QPR. (2289 views)

2011 Col Solare (USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Red Mountain) 3/3/2016TexasBob87

Dark violet purple, really dense. Deep, extracted red and purple fruits with a touch of vinegar on the nose. Highly extracted and tasty on the front palate with dense, dusty tannins. Notes of concentrated red cherries that unfortunately transitions into a cherry cough syrup note at the end palate and into the very long finish. Drunk at Wildfish Grill in San Antonio. Interesting, but not my style. (2712 views)

2011 Col Solare (USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Red Mountain) 8/7/2015PT insurgent

Pronounced nose, notes of black fruits, blackcurrant, black cherry. Violets, cedar, mint. Vanilla, spice toast, prune.
Palate is dry, med+ acid, high tannin - grippy but ripe. Full body, pronounced intensity. Notes of ripe jammy black fruits black currant, blackberry. Vanilla, toasted oak, clove. Mint, cedar, black olive. Long finish.
Lots of concentration and well balanced.
I do remember it finishing a bit too sweetish for me. (2042 views)
