Tasted by Wine4Cam on 8/18/2019 & rated 88 points: Nose of pepper, and candies cherry.
Good acidity carries the wine, pepper and quick acidic finish. Fruit comes accross as candied on the palette as well. (2001 views)
Tasted by whudock on 5/14/2016 & rated 90 points: still strong. (9139 views)
Tasted by whudock on 4/13/2015 & rated 90 points: reliably good. Cranberry, spice, long finish (11276 views)
Tasted by Panars on 12/31/2014: I like it (11634 views)
Tasted by Binniejo on 12/12/2013 & rated 84 points: Quite nice thru the flavour flat when in the mouth I believe due age. I think this a little past it prime. I have enjoyed server all bottles over the last several years. (15105 views)
Tasted by Life At Your Leisure 🍷 on 11/24/2013 & rated 91 points: From vineyards located in Sonoma, Mendocino, and Santa Barbara counties, this garnet hued wine has a nose of sweet, ripe berries with a touch of earth and smoky herbs. The palate is rich, thick, and creamy for a Pinot Noir. Flavors of red cherries, cola, red candy licorice, and chocolate truffle form the core. Finishes long, with hints of cola and minerals. Utterly enjoyable and sumptuously easy to drink, yet multi-dimensional and complex. This is my kind of Pinot Noir. Drink from 2011 to 2019. (13698 views)
Tasted by Vinobc on 10/29/2013 & rated 90 points: Popped and poured. Nose of raspberry and plum, same fruits subtly on the palate. Nice balance at this price point ( I think we paid $15 from a store that , lamentably, has closed). As others have noted, great QPR. (7538 views)
Tasted by italiaPhile on 10/25/2013 & rated 88 points: Lots of raspberry with hints of dried cherry...on the sweet side...somewhat balanced due to a light finish. (5593 views)
Tasted by CUTig1 on 9/10/2013 & rated 89 points: - Garnet color with medium forming legs and aromas of cedar and cherry. It's somewhat balanced and has flavours of cherry, black currant and raspberry with a medium/full body. Leathery texture with a medium finish - Nice wine. Nose is dried fruit with a hint of resin, maybe cedar. Medium balance with nice velvety texture on the mid-palette. Dried cherry prevalent. Somewhat short on the finish. Goes nicely with salmon with a bourbon sauce. (5587 views)
Tasted by mls on 7/1/2013 & rated 88 points: Nice for the money
The body is Medium. (3595 views)
Tasted by pikemasterflash on 6/18/2013 & rated 91 points: Great QPR and glad to have been introduced to this one. (3417 views)
Tasted by CUTig1 on 5/27/2013: - Ruby color and aromas of blackberry, raspberry and black currant. It's somewhat balanced and has flavours of blackberry, raspberry and black currant with a medium body. Satin-Like texture with a medium finish. (3295 views)
Tasted by The Drunken Cyclist on 5/9/2013 & rated 89 points: I was really surprised by this wine--great cherry fruit and good balance. There was not a whole lot on the back end, but at this price point, I would certainly seek it out. Very Good. thedrunkencyclist.com (3550 views)
Tasted by Binniejo on 4/27/2013 & rated 89 points: Always good enjoyed the first thru the fourth day fruity (2395 views)
Tasted by ArizonaWineGuy on 4/14/2013 & rated 89 points: Drinking much nicer now than it did 18 months ago. Tannins have calmed down a good deal, and fruit (ripe black cherries and plums) has come forward nicely. Also, an elegant velvety texture is now showing itself. Most likely at its peak, so drink up now and over the next six months. (2741 views)
Tasted by owr on 3/18/2013 & rated 90 points: We started with the Belle Glos 2009 Meiomi Pinot Noir, one of my favourite California Pinots, I can't afford the single vineyard offerings but this 3-region blend is a real beauty, black cherry throughout with good acidity and a touch of an earthy quality that gives this wine some real character. (3196 views)
Tasted by Bro on 2/16/2013 & rated 90 points: Avons dégusté ce vin comme premier rouge avec les antipasto et il fut apprécié par tous les convives ... Un pinot noir épicé et goûteux comme je les aime ... (3486 views)
Tasted by Xfactor on 2/16/2013 & rated 82 points: Very disjointed brambly fruits. (3225 views)
Tasted by Baron Slick on 11/22/2012 & rated 89 points: Pretty ruby color. Aromatic with cherry, meat, bacon fat, Asian spice, earth, and cola scents. Flavors to match. Medium to full bodied and great length. This is good stuff.

Paired with champagne roasted turkey, baked ham, beef tamales, scalloped potato casserole. (3956 views)
Tasted by mazik on 11/22/2012 & rated 89 points: Great pinot for the price, subtle and complex, but with lots of charm. (4264 views)
(5077 views)
Tasted by td1836 on 9/14/2012 & rated 87 points: Very dark purple color, almost opaque. Oak coming through on the nose along with black raspberry and blueberry. Same darker fruits on the palate with the oak still presence, and a jammy character to the fruit. Not the style I prefer for a Pinot. This isn't a bad wine, and some will like it more than I scored it, but for me it is too heavy on the palate with too much oak. (1045 views)
Tasted by Canoetrip on 9/11/2012 & rated 90 points: - Crimsom color. (3697 views)
(5150 views)
Tasted by OHWINEGUY on 6/29/2012 & rated 85 points: Slight raisin and tobacco aroma, strawberry flavor but still very dry. I like the wine and with pasta it is great. Finish thin but satisfying. (4868 views)

Pinot Noir

Varietal character (Appellation America) | Varietal article (Wikipedia)
Pinot Noir is the Noble red grape of Burgundy, capable of ripening in a cooler climate, which Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot will not reliably do. It is unpredictable and difficult both to grow and to vinify, but results in some of the finest reds in the world. It is believed to have been selected from wild vines two thousand years ago. It is also used in the production of champagne. In fact, more Pinot Noir goes into Champagne than is used in all of the Cote d'Or! It is also grown in Alsace, Jura, Germany, the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Romania, Switzerland, Austria, Croatia, Serbia, Italy, and so forth, with varying degrees of success.

Pinot Noir is one of the world's most prestigious grapes. It is very difficult to grow and thrives well in France, especially in Champagne and Burgundy. Pinot Noir thrives less in hot areas, is picky on soil, and deserves some oak storage.

Pinot Noir, or Blauburgunder / Spätburgunder in German, is a blue grapevine - and, as the German name suggests, the grape comes originally from Burgundy in France.

The grape, which thrives in calcareous soils, is used primarily for the production of red wine, and it is widely regarded as producing some of the best wines in the world. The wine style is often medium-bodied with high fruit acidity and soft tannins. It can be quite peculiar in fragrance and taste, and not least in structure - which may be why it is referred to as "The Grapes Ballerina".
Pinot Noir is also an important ingredient in sparkling wines, not least in champagne since it is fruity, has good acidity and contains relatively little tannins.
The grape is considered quite demanding to grow. The class itself consists of tightly packed grapes, which makes it more sensitive to rot and other diseases.

Pinot Noir changes quite easily and is genetically unstable. It buds and matures early which results in it often being well ripened. Climate is important for this type of grape. It likes best in cool climates - in warm climates the wines can be relaxed and slightly pickled.
In cooler climates, the wine can get a hint of cabbage and wet leaves, while in slightly warmer regions we often find notes of red berries (cherries, strawberries, raspberries, currants), roses and slightly green notes when the wine is young. With age, more complex aromas of forest floor, fungi and meat emerge.

In Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Hungary, it often produces light wines with less character. However, it has produced very good results in California, Oregon and New Zealand.

With its soft tannins and delicate aroma, it is excellent for white fish, chicken and light meat. For the stored wines you can serve small game. Classic duck breast is a matter of course, a Boeuf Burgundy and Pinot Noir are pure happiness.

Pinot Noir loses quality by over-harvesting.
Pinot Noir is prone to diseases, especially rot and mildew. Viruses cause major problems especially in Burgundy.
Pinot Noir are large round grapes with thin skins. Relatively high in alcohol content. Medium rich tannins and good with acid.
As a young person, Pinot Noir has a distinctly fruity character such as raspberries, cherries and strawberries.
A mature Pinot Noir, the taste is different. Cherry goes into plum and prune flavors. It smells of rotten leaves, coffee, moist forest floor and animal wine. This must be experienced.
In warm climates you find boiled plum, some rustic, little acid.
If the grapes are over-grown, the wine will be thin, with little color and flavor.

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
