Tasted by Ryan-ParkCity on 10/16/2022 & rated 92 points: Still holding up with nice acid and fruit. (273 views)
Tasted by OneOfTheBasicFoodGroups on 2/21/2022 & rated 92 points: Fabulous color. An iridescent amber/gold. Not showing a lot, if any, oak. Not particularly buttery either, but still a very nice flavor profile (hints of lemon) with just the right amount of acidity. On the lighter side of things. Better on the first day, after a bit of decanting, than the second (VacuVined). (361 views)
Tasted by davidandrose on 12/30/2015 & rated 88 points: May be past its prime but still decent, and a steal @ $5 from a close-out bin. Modest butter, seems more stainless treatment than oak. Clean and pure. Would drink up any remaining bottles (1416 views)
Tasted by diane.forgy@dianeforgy.com on 12/13/2015 & rated 90 points: Creamy texture, expressive fruit and not overly oaky. Definitely time to drink up. (1524 views)
Tasted by TKS9 on 7/14/2013: Better integrated and much more enjoyable than the prior bottle. Drinking very well now. (2671 views)
Tasted by winejnky on 4/27/2013 & rated 88 points: Creamy, buttery, some oak and bright, golden fruit; a bit better than the other bottle I had and much more appreciated by the crowd tonight. That said, it is still a lighter style and not especially complex. (2602 views)
Tasted by winejnky on 3/29/2013 & rated 86 points: I'm not wild about this one, a little too buttery and oaky, without enough fruit and acidity to handle it. (2565 views)
Tasted by AlphaL on 2/2/2013 & rated 89 points: A really nice pale gold with a bouquet of cream and a little butter, banana and sweet fruits. It is medium bodied and also has nice slow legs. The forward palate is a little hot with more cream and butterscotch coming through. I have to agree with an earlier note about the extra time possibly moderating the heat. It is fairly well balanced and has a nice medium finish that ends with a little oak. If it was not for the heat, I would score it higher. (1747 views)
Tasted by TKS9 on 10/10/2012 & rated 88 points: This is clearly a well made wine but currently shows excess oak that may integrate better with additional time. I get a lot of not-unpleasant butterscotch on the nose and mid-palate but the finish has a harsh wood flavor. 87 today, 89+ if the oak subsides/integrates better. (2203 views)
Tasted by StarM on 4/13/2012 & rated 88 points: Nice round Chard with enough acid to balance the tropical fruit cream & oak. Plays well with food. (1644 views)
Tasted by rrschrumjr on 11/24/2011 & rated 90 points: Pale gold. Creamy tropical fruits on the nose -- crisp bananas, limes, and sweet fruits stand out. Cream on the nose as well, moreso than butter or oak. A tad bit of spicy heat, too. On the palate, bananas again; the creaminess hews toward toasted butter. Also picked up some crisp, perhaps underripe tropical fruits and kiwi. Oakiness moderates the meager acid. The only negative is the extra heat. Not sure if this would benefit from extra time on the rack or if there's just too much alcohol. Bold -- tons of interesting stuff going on. (2022 views)
Tasted by rjonwine@gmail.com on 7/31/2011 & rated 91 points: Joseph George 71st Anniversary Tasting (Montalvo Arts Center, Saratoga, California): Ripe lemon nose; tasty, creamy textured, ripe lemon, ripe citrus palate; medium-plus finish (2590 views)
Tasted by HRT on 7/14/2011: Lovely scents of citrus and floral. Full bodied with slight oak with acidic overtones. Alcohol of 14% is not noticiible. (2112 views)
Tasted by PangurBan on 6/12/2011 & rated 88 points: pear and flowers with a hint of citrus. Bright acidity with wet stones on the finish. Very nice. (1915 views)
Tasted by shadow on 6/5/2011 & rated 90 points: went fast, clean, nice fruit, great starter (2484 views)
Tasted by vanpe003 on 4/11/2011 & rated 90 points: Pure chard fruit, no malo, and oak that isn't overpowering but at the same time isn't shy - this is my style of Napa Chard. Good QPR. (2098 views)

The Chardonnay Grape

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
