Tasted by gew71walsh on 3/16/2022 & rated 92 points: Drank over three days. I thought this lost a little since my last bottle five years ago. A little softer—still cherries and like a light burgundy (in color as well). Didn’t linger as long on the finish. Still a very good wine—better on the first day than the third. (1191 views)
Tasted by ID on 3/1/2022: Had the 12th and last bottle of my case last night. Bought in 2012, drank the first bottle in 2019, and now, three years later, they're all gone. Was an interesting ride. This last bottle was like an aged, lighter-style burgundy. The beautiful translucent color was a not insignificant part of the overall pleasure. In these three years, from age 12 to age 15, it went from a real red-meat wine to something delicate that could work even with calamari. Unfortunate that this was my last. All good things must end.  Tasted by chablis28 on 6/30/2021 & rated 95 points: This showed worlds better than my last btl 28 mos ago. A rock star tonight! Finding this in nice spot simply slow oxed in my somewhat larger Burg shaped Barolo glasses for 3hrs before dinner. This has really come into its own w/ tremendous depth & super fresh vibrant fruit. Assume the biodynamic / organic approach deserves some credit? Fantastic aromas of roses, faint leather & fresh berries. The palate is a basket full of expressive wild berry, faint balsamic, mineral, spice with the reverb set on 10. Weightless, silky & suave. Aged mostly in larger Slovenian oak. Completely unexpected based on my notes for the previous 2 btls. Makes me want to grab more soon. 14% alc. Paid $36 easily drinks like $100+. (2095 views)
Tasted by Zed57 on 4/5/2021 & rated 95 points: Holy cow! This wine blew me away. Focused yet sweet, pretty and sophisticated. Mineral driven with an earthy character but still flowery and fruity with raspberry, cherry and orange peel on a tight laser beam focused finish that won’t quit. This may evolve but it is unimaginable that it could get better. (1900 views)
Tasted by ID on 2/26/2021: Nice wine. But a day later the second half of this 750ml bottle was not doing so well. I am planning to drink up my remaining bottles. (1208 views)
Tasted by BordeauxBoy on 12/20/2020 & rated 94 points: Lost track of this wine and forgot I had a couple bottles until I found them in the back of my cellar. Was very pleasantly surprised upon opening the first one. It's beautiful. Not powerful but also not a shrinking violet either. Nice, reserved but clear red fruit with tannin and acidity that still give it a little grip. Was fantastic before dinner with a little cheese and complimented our carbonara incredibly well. Excellent now. (1270 views)
Tasted by ID on 11/4/2020: From when I had this a year ago, I remember it being surprisingly full-bodied. But not this time. Now it's pretty light on its feet. Overall okay, but not much finish. It's good, but based on my memory I thought it was going to be better. The absence of a good finish is the main issue, to my mind. (1242 views)
Tasted by ChateauDutremble on 10/27/2020: Désolé...aucune note attribuée. (907 views)
Tasted by WhinyWiner on 10/20/2020 & rated 93 points: A delicate, sweet, lightweight, low-funk nebbiolo. Great wine, super-quaffable. i didn't try with air, but that didn't seem to matter. This is the kind of wine everyone should buy by the case and quaff away every day. (863 views)
Tasted by mrbry83 on 8/20/2020 flawed bottle: Oxed (854 views)
Tasted by prasm on 5/17/2020 & rated 91 points: Decanted 5 hours before first pour, consumed over 3 hours. Nose: Medium-plus intensity, black cherry, sour cherry, saddle leather, ice tea and subtle floral notes - rose. Palate: Medium bodied, sour cherry attack, big tannic back-bone, spice, leather, and forest floor notes dominate the back-end and persist through a 30-45 second finish. Drinking very well at the moment but with as the stuffing to last a decade or more. (916 views)
Tasted by bvivio on 2/28/2020 & rated 93 points: (no formal tasting notes)

Brought this to dinner at a restaurant, so didn't write up formal notes, but this was drinking beautifully. Perfumed with rose and red berries, starting to develop some tertiary notes of tar and leather, and gorgeously balanced. It still has a long life ahead, but has entered a beautiful middle-aged drinking window with a good amount of fresh fruit still present and the structure really starting to harmonize. Really high quality for the price; I wish I had more to lay down and follow over the next few years. (1013 views)

Tasted by vintage52 on 9/4/2019 & rated 93 points: Wonderful Barbaresco for sure. Searing acidity but balanced with grippy tannins, real backbone. Great mouthfeel, ample fruit coming through. Balanced and a big finish. Better after 2 hours. I think it will mellow and be at its best in 3-5 years. (1153 views)
Tasted by buffyst on 7/13/2019 & rated 92 points: The 2007 Punset is soft, fragrant, balanced, integrated, and the perfect accompaniment for homemade pasta, pesto, and garden greens with the one you love. Decanted for an hour. Held up well over the delicious course of a languid, midsummer's eve. Long, lovely finish. A classy wine. D/H. (1235 views)
Tasted by ID on 6/23/2019: This is a very good wine. Seven years ago I bought a case, and about six months ago I started going through it. Last night had bottle number 4 with grilled steak. Was very pleased. This wine has the weight to stand up to big food. And it captures your attention. I'll try to make more precise notes when I open bottle number 5. (1042 views)
Tasted by bugdoced on 3/11/2019 & rated 90 points: early in it's drinking window
this could actually use a little more sleep and a longer decant
The fruit was delicious but I think too new world right now and there was no development over the evening
This is a trusted winemaker and one of the few organic growers in piedmont so I think there is more to be had from this wine with a little more cellar time (1065 views)
Tasted by chablis28 on 2/6/2019 & rated 89 points: Agree with Bellisimo's recent Decemeber descriptors notes but Ill also assign it a score. This shows surprising structure for a 2007. Nothing jammy about this. it also shows less feminine then a lot of the Babarescos I prefer. I like the price point but I'd like buy a less brawny Barbaresco from someone else instead, for my palate. 89pts+ Lack a bit of finesse for my liking. This certainly deserves more time too. Just barely in its drinking window. I have one left and will leave it in my offside locker for a few more years. (1738 views)
Tasted by Bellissimo on 12/19/2018: Dropped into a decanter, served with dinner and consumed over the next 3 hours. Pretty wine with cherry, red raspberry, roses, tar and hints of licorice. Tannins are moderately firm at this point. Pretty classic profile and a solid value for mid $30s I paid back on release. (1031 views)
Tasted by whitmanlholt on 2/4/2018 & rated 90 points: Popped and poured. This is a translucent light-red wine. There is some modest sediment at the end of the bottle — I stood the bottle up for a few weeks, so decanting is recommended. On the nose, I get roses, rose hips, and licorice (the natural root kind). In the mouth, this has some light red fruits and some more natural licorice root. The mouth carries through to a finish of blackberry and licorice root (again). Overall, this is a classic Barbaresco — the tannin has integrated nicely and the wine carries a solid expression of the grape. 90 points. (1768 views)
Tasted by duggarm@outlook.com on 12/25/2017 & rated 95 points: Delicious wine. Ready to drink now but might get even better with a year or so. Delicious floaty wine. Refreshing acidity, fruit of cherry and plums. Soft and medium tannins when the bottle was first opened, but wine became much softer in half an hour. I loved the balance of the wine. Fruit and alcohol (14.5%) stayed perfectly in balance in the palette all the way through. (1571 views)
Tasted by slywka7 on 9/16/2017 & rated 93 points: Decanted for 2 hours. Aromas of tar, cherry, roses and earth. Flavors of cherry, tar, raspberry, coffee and earth. This is still extremely tannic but this has the stuffing to go quite a long way. Ends with a big tar finish of 30+ seconds. To me this will only get better. May wait 15-20 years for my other bottle. (1924 views)
Tasted by bugdoced on 7/30/2017 & rated 92 points: corked was soaked 90% thru so a good bottle to open

Nebbiolo

Nebbiolo is a red grape indigenous to the Piedmont region of Italy in the Northwest. The grape can also be found in other parts of the world, though they are not as respected.

Nebbiolo is often considered the "king of red wines," as it is the grape of the famed wines of Barolo DOCG, Barbaresco DOCG, and Roero DOCG. It is known for high tannins and acidity, but with a distinct finesse. When grown on clay, Nebbiolo can be very powerful, tannic, and require long aging periods to reach its full potential. When grown on sand, the grape exhibits a more approachable body with more elegant fruit and less tannins, but still has high aging potential.

"Nebbiolo" is named for the Italian word, "nebbia", which means "fog", in Italian and rightfully so since there is generally a lot of fog in the foothills of Piedmont during harvest.

Nebbiolo is a late-ripening variety that does best in a continental climate that boasts moderate summers and long autumns. In Piedmont, Nebbiolo is normally harvested in October.
