Britt really likes this fizz. She likes sweeter bubble. Too sweet for me.
Faint pink hue to the bubble. Maybe the lighting today changed the color of the bubble as i distinctly rememebered a lime-flesh colored pour last bottle. It's pretty and will appeal to those who don't appreciate bone dry champagne.
Happy New Year!!!! (501 views) | | Tasted by Genghis88 on 6/23/2023 & rated 87 points: Belinda, Teresa visiting... Lime flesh green in color Brioche, some lychee. Lots of mousse. Quite sweet. The girls loved it. Medium plus finish. Logan berry, hints of honey. Not really my style. Best pop these NV bubbles in the first 3 years?
Deep yellow gold hues, again a rather ubiquitous nose to start, then creamy tropical fruits on the palate. I seemed to get a lot of very ripe pineapple too!
The sweetness overpowered the acidity, I missed some brightness here. Some peach and coarse bubbles on the short-medium finish.
Dosage: Demi-Sec Cuvèe: Assemblage ; Pinot Noir 41%, Meunier 44%, Chardonnay 15%.
Hilton's Chynna restaurant.. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - 10 Oct 2022 (1748 views) | | Tasted by Shiaxonna on 2/7/2022 & rated 85 points: A strange sensation. I am used to brut champagne, but in this one the sweetness seems to amplify the bitterness in the wine, making it a bit unbalanced. (2093 views) | | Tasted by ManhattanBeach on 1/9/2022: We just found this overwhelmingly sweet. (1921 views) | | Tasted by JRockEsq on 12/31/2021 & rated 80 points: It was fairly tasty, even if simple, but it was cloying as it had no business having the amount of sugar it did with the modest amount of acidity it had. Due to how unbalanced this was, I found it borderline offensive and put it down after the first sip. Mediocre at best. (1891 views) | | Tasted by StewartWent on 12/27/2021 & rated 87 points: What's the point. Bloody brand creep. Champagne is not meant to be off-dry / sweet and insanely gluggable? Or maybe I'm a bit too old fashioned. No brain aperitif perhaps? (1393 views) | | Tasted by al441152 on 5/10/2021 & rated 90 points: Love demisec (2060 views) | | Tasted by Morten Andersen on 4/5/2021 & rated 92 points: A pleasant surprise. First try with dessert (cake, fruit and a bit of ice cream - very good. Not overly sweet . has som acid to it that keeps the sugar in check. Needs food to go with it - a bit too sweet to drink solo. (1481 views) | | Tasted by PaulWilson00 on 12/31/2020 & rated 92 points: The bubbles are so much smaller and more refined. Extremely smooth and a perfect balance of citrus and floral notes. (1450 views) | | Tasted by ChinonRouge on 12/31/2020 & rated 63 points: Tried it again. It still sucks. Undrinkable dreck. Yuck! Way too much sugar. (1595 views) | | Tasted by KTelaak_Buffalo on 11/26/2020 & rated 88 points: Definitely sweet. Too much for my liking. Just not my style, not poorly made (1621 views) | | Tasted by 素人俠 on 5/10/2020 & rated 91 points: Wife and in law likes it. A bit too sweet for me. Good if food is sweet. Mother’s Day (2000 views) | | Tasted by Miceri on 1/1/2020 & rated 95 points: Light hay yellow; fresh and delicious with a subtle sweetness, which in no way is too much; really fine (2217 views) | | Tasted by Dulcie and Aylwin on 12/8/2019: Champagne vs The World (Maple and Ash Chicago, Illinois): Turns out I had this wine some nine years earlier. To wrap up the evening with the dessert was this somewhat off-dry champagne. Sweet sparklers can be pretty yucky but this has a lot more balance with a honeyed sweetness balanced with good acidity. I wouldn't start an evening with it but I can certainly finish it. (2380 views) | | Tasted by Xavier Auerbach on 7/27/2019 & rated 90 points: In my experience demi-sec champagnes are almost invariably weak and sugary, but this Nectar is an exception. The sweetness is well integrated, and the texture is honeyed and rounded. Not unlike a mature Spätlese - with bubbles. If you must drink Demi-Sec, age it for a few years, like I did with this bottle. (3043 views) | | Tasted by pinotofthenight on 6/29/2019 & rated 79 points: Too much sugar, too syrupy and too much fruit. Was really disappointed when I opened this. Tasted like an $8 Trader Joe's cava. :( (2683 views) | | Tasted by fredfta on 3/10/2019 & rated 91 points: Amarelo típico com perlage fino, intenso e persistente. Aromas amanteigados, pão torrado, amêndoas, frutas brancas. Cremoso em boca, com algum dulçor balanceado pela bela acidez. Muita intensidade de sabor, repetindo as notas anunciadas no olfato. Final longo.
Conjunto complexo e estruturado, ideal para ocasiões (harmonizações) específicas. Para não errar, fico com a versatilidade e o frescor de um bom Brut ou Nature. (2253 views) | | Tasted by Miceri on 1/1/2019 & rated 93 points: No notes tanken, but clearly one of the better demi-secs around (2734 views) | | Tasted by mlutsky67 on 12/24/2018 & rated 88 points: Nice fruity taste, but not overpoweringly sweet. Went very well with the cheese fondue we had. (2676 views) | | Tasted by wineaficionado on 12/24/2018 & rated 87 points: Fine perlage. Nice fruitiness like yellow apple. (2160 views) | | Tasted by Laughingmule on 11/1/2018 & rated 90 points: I very much liked this champagne. Sweet and fruity and smooth. Lovely to sip on its own. France - When it comes to wine, France stands alone. No other country can beat it in terms of consistent quality and diversity. And while many of its Region, Bordeaux, Burgundy and Champagne most obviously, produce wine as rare, as sought-after and nearly as expensive as gold, there are just as many obscurities and values to be had from little known appellations throughout the country. To learn everything there is to know about French wine would take a lifetime. To understand and appreciate French wine, one only has to begin tasting them. Champagne - The French region of Champagne (including the cities of Rheims, Épernay, and Aÿ) was the first region in the world to make sparkling wine in any quantity. Today, the name of the region is synonymous with the finest of all sparkling wines, and wine-making traditions of Champagne have become role models for sparkling wine producers, worldwide. Surprisingly, the region of Champagne is now responsible for only one bottle in 12 of all sparkling wine produced. Styles of champagne range in sweetness ranging from an extra brut or brut 0, to the basic brut to demi sec to doux; some houses produce single vintage champagnes and others produce non-vintage (or incorporate wines/grapes of multiple vintages), often to preserve a specific taste; combinations of grape varietals; and colors, including a rosé. There are several sub-appellations, including the Valley of the Marnes river running from Épernay west, Massif de Saint-Thierry north and west of Rheims, Valley of the Ardre, the Mountains of Rheims (between Rheims and Épernay), Côte des Blancs, Côte de Sézanne, and Côte des Bar in the South. Champagne wine only uses three grape varietals (cépages): Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier.ChampagneThe vineyards of Champagne on weinlagen-info |
