Tasted by Hoddick on 10/11/2021 & rated 93 points: Age has complemented this wine very well. Nice fruit present and well balanced acidity. (939 views)
Tasted by Scott5501 on 6/4/2021 & rated 94 points: Supple. Fruit fully rounded out. Medium mouthfeel throughout. Tannins non-evident. (1056 views)
Tasted by Tarpon222 on 5/17/2020 & rated 91 points: Thoroughly enjoyed. Very nice color, nose, finish. (1261 views)
Tasted by galewskj on 8/12/2017 & rated 85 points: 30 minute decant. This wine has not aged well. It is becoming hollow and alcoholic. I don't think this wine was ever in a good place, and this was a poor showing. (2286 views)
Tasted by EricDilda on 5/10/2017 & rated 87 points: Flat, not much structure left. Muted fruit. Probably missed the window. (2276 views)
Tasted by galewskj on 4/18/2016 & rated 88 points: I must have been cranky when I gave this an 83 3 years ago. Or maybe it's more balanced now. Regardless, drank this over 2 days and it didn't budge on day 2. Fairly standard cocktail wine, like most napa cabs are. Lots of fruit and oak. Definitely jammy, does not have sufficient acid for balance. Still, kind of fun to drink. (3283 views)
Tasted by MemorialWineFan on 12/29/2015 & rated 85 points: Fading...the 2006 cabs in general are not improving with more age. This example was on the decline. That was my read on Pina. (3277 views)
Tasted by Mattvino on 12/11/2015 & rated 91 points: Never go wrong with Pina! (3121 views)
Tasted by Rich S on 12/5/2015 & rated 92 points: Decanted at a restaurant. Medium purple color with a dark core. Expressive nose of blackberry, cassis, dark chocolate, toasty oak and a bit of charcoal. Similar flavors on the palate with medium+ acid and well integrated plump and smooth tannins. Long finish. Very well made Napa cab and paired great with prime rib. (2397 views)
Tasted by Ranjan on 11/20/2015 & rated 93 points: Smooth, fruit, well balanced. (2141 views)
Tasted by Ranjan on 10/14/2015 & rated 92 points: Oak, smooth tannins, mod fruit (1506 views)
Tasted by michigan dogs on 8/26/2015 & rated 90 points: Same as the bottle I enjoyed in June, much better the second day. Very enjoyable Napa cab but at it's peak or past. drink up (1573 views)
Tasted by michigan dogs on 6/13/2015 & rated 91 points: much better on the 2nd day, wine has aged well, not as big or fruit forward as when younger, but well balanced, smooth, very nice. Wine has probably hit it's peak and I would not expect it to get better. (1606 views)
Tasted by Dasher on 4/5/2015 & rated 90 points: This wine is drinking real well. (1810 views)
Tasted by mprachar on 9/27/2014 & rated 91 points: This wine is really coming into its own now. It's drinking beautifully; probably won't improve beyond this point. (2319 views)
Tasted by skibum819 on 4/26/2014 & rated 91 points: Just a great well balanced and beautifully crafted Cali Cab, but it needs at least 30 minutes to come around. Not a huge over the head powerhouse but a great textbook Cab (2675 views)
Tasted by camben on 8/28/2013 & rated 95 points: Texture and richness is off the chart. The.. I really dont have words (3917 views)
Tasted by rodsjuice on 7/28/2013 & rated 89 points: The was more aromatic right from bottle and into decanter than after the 3 hour decant. Got aromas of cassis, cocoa, black fruit. Palate was full with a smooth texture. Good intergration of alcohol, tannins, acidity. Long smooth finish. Nicely balanced very enjoyable to drink by itself. I saved one glass for the grilled filet and it paired perfectly. One bottle left to enjoy. 5,12,16,6=89 (3562 views)
Tasted by MemorialWineFan on 7/25/2013 & rated 89 points: Solid cab. Probably not a lot more to gain with aging. Can drink now and over the next 2 years (3682 views)
Tasted by Lakewine23 on 7/12/2013 & rated 91 points: very nice! well rounded cab (3100 views)
Tasted by Tarpon222 on 7/12/2013 & rated 92 points: Delicious. Opaque, deeply extracted. Drank over 2 hours. Wonderful with filets. (2575 views)
Tasted by Troon on 6/10/2013 & rated 91 points: I didn't wait a year to drink the final bottle, but I enjoyed the wine. Decanted for about 30 minutes. Notes are similar to previous bottles. Good structure and balance. I enjoyed it for its price. (1945 views)
Tasted by Rich S on 5/20/2013 & rated 92 points: Decanted for about an hour. Dark purple color. Big nose of rich blackberry cobbler, creme de cassis, a bit of charred oak and dark chocolate. Similar flavor profile on the palate with a full bodied mouthfeel and moderate finish. Medium+ acidity and tannins. This wine is undeniably Napa cabernet, in a good way. Still has time to develop more secondary characteristics but very drinkable and enjoyable now. (1863 views)
Tasted by sellerscellar on 4/1/2013 & rated 92 points: This wine simply continues to improve. Very nice. (2119 views)

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
