| Tasted by gregg g on 8/27/2023: Starts off muted with little character to show. Starts to open up and within an hour is showing a lot more flare. You trade zip of more mature flavors. Lemon curd, lychee notes. Pretty decent acidity. We all liked this. (481 views) |
| Tasted by ljl203 on 3/5/2022: Seashells by the seashore. Pale almost clear, saline tart and refreshing. Oyster and clam shell delight. (979 views) |
| Tasted by Chris Newport on 1/10/2022: This is in a perfect place, so good. An almost completely different wine than on release. Gone is the day of bright acidity and salinity. Much more depth and texture with the 15 years of bottle age. Stash some of these away if you have the cellar space. (1153 views) |
| Tasted by ksmith on 3/17/2021: Beginning to show some oxidation.....drink up! (1535 views) |
| Tasted by drwine2001 on 3/30/2020: Dull yellow color. Nothing dull about it in the mouth, in fact a lemony delight with unusual gras for Muscadet and ripping acidity. Terrific mineral/soil finish. I would say that this more than delivered as a $15 purchase that showed like a Premier Cru Chablis at 13 years of age, and it's not done yet. (2221 views) |
| Tasted by drwine2001 on 3/23/2019: Tulip colored. White flowers, hay, and citrus. Light but marvelous sheen and sap for Muscadet. Ripe but tangy lemon attack, outstanding acidity, and a long finish of crushed limestone and raging salinity. It's funny, we had a great Dauvissat Preuses last night, and while this wine doesn't have the dimension or depth of that wine, it wouldn't have rolled over and died if tasted next to it, and it has some of that primordial mystery that Chablis often possesses. | Tasted by coremill on 12/7/2018: Rather advanced, with a darkish color and lots of almond on the nose, but plenty of minerality to give it structure and still hold it together. Interesting, but other notes suggest this was perhaps not pristine. (1923 views) |
| Tasted by Bob H on 8/14/2018: Light gold in the glass; fairly neutral nose.
Crisp on the palate with decent acidity. I will probably be in the minority here, but while this is nice, is it any better than on release? Not sure aging these really delivers any substantial improvement. (2370 views) |
| Tasted by Bob H on 1/21/2018: Again, similar in color to the two preceding wines; nose is somewhat nondescript, but there is a faint oxidative note here that might indicate that this bottle didn't fare as well in the cellar over the past decade.
That oxidative note carries through to the palate as well - if you tried this wine on it's own, you might not pick up on this and just think that the wine was less structured and maybe a touch dilute, but having had the other two wines first, this is just beginning to head downhill. (2144 views) |
| Tasted by WetRock on 7/9/2017: Glorious. Clean, mean mineral bomb. The fruit is lean like glass. The ozone and rainy pavement envelop lemony goodness. Slight touch of oxidation around the edges. In a perfect spot. Drink up with some light foods. (2491 views) |

| Tasted by jmht on 7/4/2016 & rated 90 points: Brine, sea salt, sea shells, lemon lime zest, just delicious and light. Drinking well now, probably will improve. (2969 views) |
| Tasted by slanum on 6/15/2016: There's a distinct green tint to the medium yellow color. I normally perceive a good deal of citrus in the aromas of Briords but in this instance that seems to be sharing the stage with something reminiscent of the seashore: almost oyster liquor-like. The citric twang pushes forward on the palate and reminds me of the yellow-skinned variety of sweet limes. Amazing, really, that a nine year old $13 wine is this vibrant and interesting. | Tasted by drwine2001 on 11/27/2015: Light greenish yellow. Herbal/algal aromas. Light weight but a lovely layer of glycerine. More fruit (orange) than it has shown before, vanilla bean, and then a powerful finish of acid and soil that leaves a dusting of stone on the tongue. Tremendous, as fresh as it was 2 years ago, and as always, amazing return on a $15 investment. That won't change over the next decade, either. (3138 views) |
| Tasted by Elwoodr on 11/20/2015 & rated 90 points: Lemon, chalk and bone with some brine/seashell notes as it opened up. These wines really strut their stuff as they warm up. I know a lot of folks serve these wines ice cold but they take on weight and body as they warm. Amazing QPR. Puts most white burgs to shame and is just amazing food wine. This wine has years ahead of it. What more could you want? (2643 views) |

| Tasted by stubbie999 on 6/27/2014: Delcious, fresh and young. Lots of added complexity without a loss of zippy-ness. Worth a check if you've got a couple; will hold on for a while if you'd prefer. Damn, this wine is so good - on release, and for years and years. (2761 views) |
| Tasted by greenblanket on 6/9/2014: What a wonderful bottle of wine this is.
It's too bad that we can only find Brooklynguy here on CT these days. His recent note on this wine says it all. (2720 views) |
| Tasted by brooklynguy on 5/4/2014: Man, this shows so beautifully. That said, it's 9 hours in when the wine shows best. The nose is subtle and graceful and is unmistakably briny, and there are also leesy, lemony, and floral scents. It's less about intensity and more about focus and clarity, and it's lovely and expressive of place. And it belies the intensity that is here on the palate. The wine is powerful in flavor, very long, with complex mineral notes to complement the citrus and seashell flavors. It's so clean too, just a breath of fresh air. Light in body, absolutely intense in acidity - it bores through, but in a good way. Compelling wine. The color is essentially golden and the wine appears more advanced than it actually is. No shame in drinking this now, especially if you have a few. But this has years and years to go. (4654 views) |
| Tasted by Junior on 2/1/2014: Rock and salinity and a citrusy freshness. Nothing characteristic of age that I can detect, but it's been a while since I had one. And just as good after a week in the fridge (don't ask why I didn't finish it the first night). A why-don't-I-have-more wine. (3405 views) |
| Tasted by drwine2001 on 8/21/2013: Pale greenish. Faint lemon peel but then a brisk, bracing tsunami of granite and minerals. Dry as the desert. Can there be a more refreshing summer drink? As pristine and fresh as it was 4 years ago when last tasted. (2631 views) |
| Tasted by greenblanket on 7/19/2013: Singing. (2489 views) |
| Tasted by xwine on 6/18/2013: This seems as fresh and invigorating as it was when young, yet with an added dimension. Lively and bracing, but a somewhat creamy citrus quality gives it depth and interest. I'm just sorry this is my last bottle. A stellar wine, and it's simply amazing to get this kind of quality for the price. (2444 views) |
