Six years in the wine rack in my house. Red plum/red currant profile up front with savor on the finish. Lively in an old-school style. Ridge is the keeper of the flame. (2556 views) | | Tasted by camben on 3/3/2016: Very oaky upon opening. Took about an hour or 2 but showed lovely dark purple and blue fruit. Tons of life left (2687 views) | | Tasted by JPMorgan on 10/4/2015 & rated 87 points: Late to the party on this deep claret colored with black currant, cherry and a ting of smoke. Fairly tannic, with medium finish. (3000 views) | | Tasted by Old Amarone on 8/31/2015: Out of date, but enjoyed it!! Better than the 88.7 CT score ! Closer to 90'! (2973 views) | | Tasted by guitarguy on 7/6/2014 & rated 87 points: Still youthful, fresh, zippy raspberry, cracked pepper and charcoal notes. Good. (2828 views) | | Tasted by marksfamily on 6/24/2014 & rated 85 points: Not bad, not great. Good structure; cherry, blackberry. Short finish. Dink em if you've got em. (2367 views) | | Tasted by sheilon92688 on 6/2/2014 & rated 95 points: Smooth. Great finish. Bold flavor. Easy to drink. Went well with lamb. (2357 views) | | Tasted by bdeblank on 4/25/2014 & rated 86 points: On the decline. Pretty garnet color, little nose. Sharp taste, likely a year or two too old but the remnants of good structure and soft tannins. (2147 views) | | Tasted by ajfret01 on 11/8/2013: Nice wine. Pleasant aroma with well integrated tannins. (2412 views) | | Tasted by sbfern on 9/9/2013 & rated 94 points: A small bit of spice on the front a large fruity middle and long clean finish. Hints of ripe fruit jelly, But with a robust nutty flavor as well (1856 views) | | Tasted by guitarguy on 9/9/2013 & rated 87 points: A juicy, raspberry nose with saddle leather, chocolate, cranberry and dirt notes. A bit of pepper emerges in the finish. Drink in 2013 or 2014. (1862 views) | | Tasted by fredb on 8/1/2013: Medium-dark red color. Aromas of ripe, red berry fruit with some vanilla notes. Palate is ripe and sweet with cherry, raspberry, blackberry, and some vanilla that carry into a medium-short finish. Clean and satisfying for its fruit. Drink. (1809 views) | | Tasted by casjf on 7/28/2013 & rated 88 points: Rich berry flavors. (1816 views) | | Tasted by jrlamia on 7/25/2013 & rated 89 points: Smooth, ripe berry, cocoa notes. May be near its peak. Opens up a bit in glass after opening and was steadily enjoyable over several hours. (1564 views) | | Tasted by fredb on 7/2/2013: Medium red color with limited transparency. Aromas of ripe berry, vanilla, blackberry, and a hint of licorice. Palate is richer than the 2008 with riper red fruit elements and more breadth with a longer finish that shows some roasted elements. This is the "better" wine of the 2007/2008 pair, but I enjoyed the 2007 more. Drink. (1427 views) | | Tasted by winemaker on 6/24/2013 & rated 90 points: Ruby and transparent at the rim. Easy drinking. Red fruits, tasty. last bottle. (1516 views) | | Tasted by kosinski on 6/7/2013: Rich nose of blackberry jam, garrigue and cedar spice. Jammy but tart blackberry flavors with hints of tobacco and cedar. Mild tannins that are still a bit puckery on the finish. Drink or hold for another year or two. (1412 views) | | Tasted by mlwhitfi on 4/2/2013 & rated 88 points: Subtle cherry nose, very smooth & elegant (1742 views) | | Tasted by guitarguy on 1/11/2013 & rated 90 points: Spicy, cranberry and prune in the nose with a dark purplish hue. Flavors are more complex than most Ridge Carignanes, with juicy berry, color, black pepper and prune flavors framed with moderate tannins and acidity. Longish finish. Maybe just a bit pruned. (1903 views) | | Tasted by moxielady on 1/7/2013 & rated 89 points: Bright fruit, smooth tannin. Good w pasta and red meat sauce. (1873 views) | | Tasted by winemaker on 12/2/2012 & rated 90 points: I think I got this bottle at a good time. Still dark purply red. Initially, the wine smells of a whiff of oak. After a few minutes, the oak blows off leaving an aroma of red fruits. Clean, rich Carignane fruit which for me is kind of hard to describe. Definitely red fruits that are tight and acidic. Some underlying tannins are present. Nice long finish. (1818 views) | | Tasted by nieuwoudt on 7/9/2012 & rated 90 points: decanted for an hour - which really helped wine open up (2165 views) | | Tasted by garambler on 12/23/2011 & rated 90 points: I had my 2nd bottle after dinner on 12/23/11 and found that it has evolved quite nicely. It had a ripe and elegant bouquet of smoke, blueberry, blackberry, raspberry, cherry, anise, spice, mocha and cocoa (just a hint) aromas. The palate was smooth and beautifully integrated with flavors of blueberry, blackberry, raspberry, cherry, mocha, cocoa, anise and spice. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.California2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson Sonoma CountyMendocino CountySonoma CountySonoma Coast |
