(3047 views)
Tasted by millesime66 on 5/9/2016 & rated 89 points: Très bon Riserva désormais à maturité. (3148 views)
Tasted by goldgarf on 11/22/2014 & rated 80 points: Not as good as previous bottles. Pretty routine chianti (4661 views)
Tasted by Pichoo on 8/2/2014 & rated 90 points: Belle couleur rubis. (4368 views)
Tasted by CarlCP on 6/28/2014 & rated 89 points: While the nose and finish were both tart cherry and earthy, the taste is a very smooth berry with food. Just sipping the taste is a litter more tart. (2643 views)
Tasted by BRJS on 3/15/2014: leave last bottle for a couple years - try 2016 (2772 views)

Tasted by wayfarer on 8/26/2013 & rated 89 points: Decanted before serving with pasta puttanesca. Opened up and settled down with dinner. Popping with cherry flavors and nose, bright mineral acidity. Mouth watering with fruit, and nice complement to a strong flavored dish, especially as the cherry settled down. (1738 views)

Tasted by CarlCP on 11/24/2012 & rated 89 points: Medium violet color

Taste is also herbaceous and leather, earthy. Sight berry, cherry.

Tasted by la dut on 11/20/2012 & rated 90 points: My first Chianti Classico since I started drinking wine 2 years ago.

Opened and aerated:
- Very dark for a Chianti, almost Merlot-like in intensity and depth.
- Nice, full nose with cocktail cherry, cedar, and topsoil up front, leading into dates, coriander, and soft oak.
- Medium to full-bodied with powdery, bitter tannins and medium/high acidity. Sweet, fresh cherry and plum up front, helping to balance the acidity, leading into coffee and spice, finishing with a fair amount of coriander and other exotic spices.
- Very nice fruit and spice, rather clean flavors, decently balanced.

After two hours:
- I notice some leather and more spice (think sweet, pumpkin pie spices), and the fruit has become secondary to the strong oak notes. There are also delicate floral aromas that add a lot to the complexity.
- Definitely medium in body (the aerator was not as effective for this wine as it has been with others), with some anise, coriander, and sweet cinnamon (not that cheap, bitter, McCormick crap). Persistent but mild finish.
- Improved quite a bit in two-hours time, going from a little difficult and a little harsh to delicious and complex.

Info from website:
- 90% Sangiovese, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot
- Aged 24 months in French Oak (2946 views)
Tasted by Wine Gopher on 10/2/2012 & rated 88 points: Dark purple color. Vanilla is the primary aroma with a hint of red fruit. Medium body with chewy tannins. Flavors of dark cherry, plum and a hint of vanilla. Medium-plus finish. It could use a few more years in cellar and is better with food to tame the tannins. (2752 views)
(1881 views)
Tasted by Mon Cellier on 7/26/2012 & rated 91 points: Goût d'un boisé profond.
Tasted by JGDiane on 7/22/2012: Beaucoup aimé. Chianti plus robuste que les autres. J'aimerais bien le racheter. (2532 views)
Tasted by pdadams66 on 7/21/2012 & rated 88 points: Very good riserva chianti. Good balance between fruit and acidity. Might improve over the next couple of years, but drinks well now with food. (1700 views)
Tasted by MilesLP on 5/24/2012 & rated 88 points: Alas, the last bottle, medium bodied, intense cherry with oaky vanilla, short finish (2354 views)
Tasted by wmccone54 on 5/18/2012 & rated 89 points: Dark, a fuller bodied chianti. Perfumed aromas of dark cherries, vanilla with lots of earthiness and oak. Intense and concentrated cherry, cedar, and black coffee flavors with a moderate amount of grainy tannins. Very nice, long finish of black coffee finish. (2196 views)
Tasted by jwongham on 4/28/2012 & rated 89 points: Dark red fruit. Heavier than most. Pleasant acidity and reasonable length. Good. (2374 views)

Sangiovese Blend

Sangiovese blend is used in CellarTracker for Italian wines to represent wines predominantly made of Sangiovese and blended with traditional Italian grapes. It is different than SuperTuscan which is a blend of Sangiovese with non-traditional (eg Bordeaux) varieties, often in closer to equal portions. For example, Chianti is at least 80% Sangiovese and will always be listed Sangiovese blend.
