Recommendation for bottling:
up to 2 years: Agglomerated
up to 4 years: 1+1 or Colmated
up to 5 years: Synthetic
up to 20 years: Natural
**Agglomerated**
Agglomerated Wine Corks are ground cork that is bonded into a solid shape.
Agglomerated Wine Corks are available in two lengths and are suitable for wines
to be opened young (within 2 years after bottling).

**Colmated**
Colmated Wine Corks are a medium grade natural cork that has the crevises
filled with a resin made from cork powder creating a smoother surface. Colmated
Wine Corks provide very good sealing properties and are an economical
alternative to Natural Wine Corks.

**Synthetic**
Synthetic Wine Corks are FDA grade plastic wine corks that cork wine bottles up
to 5 years. The Synthetic Wine Corks are among the best quality in the world.
Synthetic Wine Corks are available in two sizes, regular length and short.

**1+1**
1+1 Wine Corks consist of an Agglomerated Cork center (ground cork) with
Natural Cork slices on both ends. 1+1 Wine Corks are the best selling wine cork
in the USA because they are an economical alternative to Natural Wine Corks.

**Natural**
Natural Wine Corks are derived from the highest quality Cork Oak periderm (or
bark). Three quality grades of Natural Wine Corks are offered and suitable for
long term wine storage. The quality grades include First, Super, and Extra. All
corks are always thoroughly washed and treated to defend against cork taint.

**Screwcap**
Many Vintners are using screwcaps over the traditional cork due to the low cost
of bottling and the lowered risk of the consumer receiving a tainted
"corked" wine. Most use the aluminium screwcaps, but ther there are
some that use a plastic screwcap. The screwcap also allows the consumer to
store an opened bottle without leaking until they can finish it. Both Screwcap
types are secured with a perforated seal which easily snaps when first opened.

**The Zork**
This is a plastic strip off used quite often by Australian vintners. This too
is a low cost low risk bottle top. The Zork also allows the consumer to store
an opened bottle without leaking until they can finish it. You need
fingernails to open the initial stripoff seal.

**Wired Bulb**
This cork is used solely on Sparkling Wines. The cork is bulb shaped and can
be made of the cork types above or plastic. The plastic bulbs are convenient
for resealing an unfinished sparkling wine. The wire surrounding the bulb
ensures that the cork does not blow off during shipment and handling.
