| ||Tasted by rocknroller on 6/18/2016 & rated 91 points: Gary's Big Wine Thingee (Gary's Place, Hudson, WI): Another good bottle of this wine. Ripe with tropical fruits, pear, melon, guava, a touch smoky, medium full bodied, oak, medium plus finish. 91+pts. (193 views)|
| ||Tasted by rocknroller on 4/8/2016 & rated 91 points: BYOB Night at Foreign Legion (Foreign Legion, Mpls, MN): Light gold color. Drank 1 glass over 40 minutes. This was good as usual, big and buttery, stone fruits, brisk minerality, a little floral, lighter oak, holding up well. Great with the creamy lobster bisque. 91+pts. (603 views)|
| ||Tasted by williamswhine on 3/5/2016 & rated 92 points: Light yellow-green hue. Citrus, lemon, tropical nose. Nice easy drinking with or without food. Butterscotch aftertaste. Yummy wine that is drinking great right now. (496 views)|
| ||Tasted by galewskj on 11/15/2015 & rated 89 points: Last minute Pinot tasting (Kevin's House): Quite full bodied. Butterscotch. The nose and palate is enticing, but the finish on this bottle is rather hot. This was significantly worse than a bottle from the same source a couple weeks ago. Too bad. (1238 views)|
| ||Tasted by rocknroller on 11/14/2015 & rated 92 points: Pinots and Few More (Rocknroller's (Kevin & Vicki's Place)): Light medium gold color. Drank 1 glass over 40 minutes. This was good as usual, not the powerhouse that it was 12 to 24 months ago. Still delivers well with tropical fruit, oak, apple, pineapple, peach, butter toffee. It is not quite as vibrant, and my sense though is that this has crested and is now on a slow decline. I'd drink these sooner rather that later, but I think they will satisfy for another 2 years. | ||Tasted by rocknroller on 10/24/2015 & rated 92 points: Light-medium gold color. Drank 1 glass over an hour. I didn't take notes on this but it was as good as always. Very well made with nice texture, good acid and nice apple fruit with crisp acidity. Love the style here. (1098 views)|
| ||Tasted by Robwild on 6/20/2015 & rated 93 points: A marvelous Chardonnay, very worthy of the Staffer name. Rich, smooth creamy and crisp (1141 views)|
| ||Tasted by smphelps on 5/11/2015 & rated 93 points: This is in a good spot right now. Light gold, just starting to show some tanning. Lemon, lime, light pineapple, orange zest nose all with a floral component. Bright and firm with nice backbone. Quite good. (1194 views)|
| ||Tasted by thelostverse on 3/31/2015 & rated 92 points: Pop and pour. Tropical notes with some lemon oil and a hint of oak. Very nice. (1031 views)|
| ||Tasted by joet626 on 3/7/2015 & rated 87 points: A little oak, a little butterscotch. Was OK. I am not a chardonnay fan but have had Red Shoulder Ranch before. This was not as good as usual. (1159 views)|
| ||Tasted by winejnky on 1/10/2015 & rated 92 points: Creamy, rich, lemon and vanilla, falls somewhere between medium and full bodied; well balanced with nice cut supported by good acidity. (1233 views)|
| ||Tasted by rocknroller on 12/19/2014 & rated 92 points: A Fine Night at La Belle Vie (La Belle Vie, Mpls): Light gold color. PNP, drank 2 glasses over 90 minutes. A little slower to full emerge, the nose develops over 20 minutes or so. The nose has pineapple, oak, apple, and orange blossoms. The palate is full bodied, deep, apple, lemon, pineapple, tangerine, mildly buttery, oak, spices. Medium plus finish. 92+ to 93pts. Needed time to fully show. (1338 views)|
| ||Tasted by Harley1199 on 12/18/2014: Judgment of Madrid, the time for aficionados plus a late dinner (Vila Viniteca - Madrid): In spite some opinions, I founded this bottle quite simple yet some life ahead. |
Better on the palate but shortie anyway.
Suddenly little worries for my two bottles.
4th position among whites.
A pesar de ciertas opiniones, encontré está botella bastante simple aunque con algo de vida todavía.
Mejor en boca pero cortita de todas formas.
De repente alguna preocupación por mis dos botellas.
Cuarto lugar entre los vinos blancos. (1560 views)
| ||Tasted by Philippe_C on 12/13/2014 & rated 91 points: Vanilla, creamy, buttery nose, super ripe yellow apple... taste is very creamy, sweet yellow apple, hint of wood tannins, hint of acidity in the finish, very modern american chardonnay! (967 views)|
| ||Tasted by winejnky on 9/13/2014 & rated 92 points: Not as big as some CA Chardonnays, but seductive ripe lemon/lime and melon flavors, excellent minerality and nice sharp bite at the finish, which is long and expansive. This is a style I really love! (1705 views)|
| ||Tasted by Kevdog on 7/1/2014 & rated 90 points: always good. nice rich cali chard with restrained oak and good acidity for food... (1351 views)|
| ||Tasted by WineCPA on 6/19/2014 & rated 93 points: Big and buttery. A little expensive for what it is. But it's a fine Napa Chardonnay that shows loads of cream, butter, vanilla and oak. The citrus came out more the next day. Drinking well now. (1311 views)|
| ||Tasted by George Lopez on 6/8/2014 & rated 93 points: Same score; paired with Shrimp Capanata. (1387 views)|
| ||Tasted by Chainthroer on 5/8/2014 & rated 92 points: Consumed at an NFL Draft Party in Prescott, AZ. See my notes of 4-17-14. The wine seemed bigger and richer this time. (1515 views)|
| ||Tasted by Chainthroer on 4/17/2014 & rated 91 points: Aromas and flavors of lemon, a hint of orange peal, pineapple, spice, minerals and toasty oak. Good acid and structure. Fairly rich and intense in the mouth. Not immensely big, but rich enough to impress. A long, tasty finish. Good pairing with chicken and canelli bean soup. Not an especially good QPR (JMO). (1275 views)|
| ||Tasted by Alpha L on 4/15/2014 & rated 93 points: This is a really good Chardonnay, especially for the price. It was light yellow gold, a little fruit forward with pineapple, melon, peach and a hint of vanilla. Mid-palate, as it was coating my taste buds, was a little oak and soft butter with a little velvet and nicely balanced. It was full bodied with a medium to long finish. We had it with salmon & Ahi Tuna at River Oaks Grille in Memphis. (894 views)|
| ||Tasted by dbg on 8/18/2013: Cellared since release. Perfect fill and cork. Drunk over 2 days. Pale yellow gold. Nose of citrus, melon and oak. Medium body, crisp ripe fruit, good acidity/fruit balance, some oak on the palate. Medium finish. Very good to excellent. (2376 views)|
| ||Tasted by williames on 8/10/2013 & rated 90 points: Precisely made bold chardonnay. Oaky, but not excessively so. Good acidity. (1986 views)|
| ||Tasted by dbg on 7/20/2013: Cellared since release. Perfect fill and cork. Pop n pour. Pale yellow gold. Nose of citrus, melon and oak. Medium body, crisp ripe fruit, good acidity/fruit balance, oak a bit less marked on the palate than the nose but not for the oak-averse. I warm up to it after a glass. Medium finish. Very good to excellent. (1995 views)|
| ||Tasted by Knicksfan on 7/20/2013 & rated 92 points: Very pleasant Cali chard (2038 views)|
