(171 views) | | Tasted by Antoniusyh on 12/31/2020 & rated 91 points: Dark red colour, lovely aromas of dark red berries and cherries, some leather. Very concentrated wine with some tannins. Really good match with tenderloin. Good length. Tannins go well with food. Will probably be even smoother with further ageing. Looking forward to the next bottle in a few years. (659 views) | | Tasted by Merrit on 8/31/2020 & rated 92 points: Rich red berry fruit, with herbs, leather and a hint of smoke. Amazingly balanced, with no signs of heat or acidity. (668 views) | | Tasted by S_Gillett on 12/16/2019 & rated 92 points: This wine is in an incredible spot. Beautiful tertiary characteristics of worn saddle leather, with wonderful balance. Drink today, it's at its Apex. (873 views) | | Tasted by OttawaB on 7/29/2019 & rated 92 points: Really enjoying this wine. In a great spot. Granite, inky, in colour, browning more on rim. Gave it a couple of hours to open up. Purple core but browning on edges. Deep floral aromas, and a distinctive herbal, garrigue and savoury element. Smokey and earthy. Very Northern Rhone in aromas. Flavour profile more like a northern rhone, but a bit lighter weight and fresher and more berry fruit in taste …. northern climate style syrah. Same as before with a dark fruit core, herbs/savoury/garrigue. Riper tannins are mild, drying. Some bitterness on a decent length finish. Says 14.8% alcohol, but no hint of heat, well integrated. Nice overall balance and medium acidity. Nice complexity. (993 views) | | Tasted by OttawaB on 8/30/2018 & rated 91 points: Gave it a couple of hours to open up. Purple core but browning on edges. Lavender and floral aromas, as well as an herbal/savoury element. Smells "purple" but not candied. A touch smokey maybe, earthy.
Opens up with a dark fruit core, herbs/savoury/garrigue. More like a northern rhone in style and flavours. But has a lighter, northern cool climate mouthfeel. More berry fruit, less tannins then a northern rhone. Tannins are mild, drying. Some bitterness on a decent length finish. Says 14.8% alcohol, but no hint of heat, well integrated. Nice overall balance and medium acidity. (1395 views) | | Tasted by crimptacular on 7/9/2016 & rated 92 points: - Purple color. It's balanced with a medium body. Polished texture with a medium finish. (1571 views) | | Tasted by Dave Dewar on 5/22/2016: Drinking well now, but no rush. (1398 views) | | Tasted by Chateau du Fey 1994 on 4/30/2016 & rated 89 points: Full body wine with long finish concentrated fruit, root beer, and firm tannins. I was surprised to find that this still he a long life ahead of it. Drinking well now but still ha some room to soften up. (1427 views) | | Tasted by Weston3220 on 3/22/2015: Come togethaher very nicely, its calmed down a lot from last time I had, nice balance of fruit, acid, veg.
Also everyone in the group [6people] loved it, so that is a good thing (1860 views) | | Tasted by Weston3220 on 9/18/2013: Took a good 45min to open up savory with a dark fruit core nice floral lavander note. on the palate has that bitterness of a Northern Rhone Syrah, and even has that youthful taste it and this needs like 10years
DAY 2, Opened up a bit, softened but still youthful, still reminds me of a nothern rhone, just needs the age to mellow n relax this baby (2849 views) |
