Tasted by Bandreas on 9/18/2023: Still unevolved, woody and raw.
Not my taste. May need another 10 years if it ever comes around... (5408 views)

Tasted by HandmadeHomemade on 4/28/2023: Drinking well, just starting to show some maturity- still quite youthfull, big fruit, vanilla, coffee, herbs- full in th emouth, dropped a lot of sediment.

Tasted by hoservin on 2/18/2023 & rated 94 points: Dispensed 1/2 bottle by Coravin. Black cherry, date, walnut, nutmeg and tangerine peel aromas and flavors. Rich and ripe with a long, layered finish. Excellent depth. Full bodied. Served with chocolate soufflé. Gorgeous wine and nice pairing. (5608 views)

Se boit dangereusement bien (6512 views)
Tasted by asgerG on 10/8/2022 & rated 91 points: DnP. Dark red, 6.5. Surprisingly fruity smelling, intense fruity palate, medium sweet, still no tertiary stuff, long fruity finish. Drink now-2050 (5774 views)
Tasted by drjb on 8/3/2022 & rated 96 points: This wine opened with a dense crimson-purple colour and a rich bouquet of blackcurrants, dark raspberries, glazed cherries, Christmas spice, dark chocolate and lavender. The palate is intense with with those rich fruit and Christmas cake characters with touches of lavender and dark chocolate leading to a balancing spine of spirit and sophisticated tannins. Great wine ! (5288 views)
Tasted by K-ribou on 7/3/2022 & rated 94 points: Stellar! A symphony of dark red cherries, perfectly balanced. I bought this bottle before it was produced and cellared it for more than 20 years... What a treat! 😃 (5503 views)
Tasted by John McCabe on 3/20/2022 & rated 95 points: From a magnum. This was delicious, quite balanced, nice power, but open and extended too. Plenty of stuffing. A perfect accompaniment to eight of us playing cards for a couple of hours. (6350 views)
Tasted by Kirko80 on 1/2/2022 & rated 89 points: Ruby colour, strong tannins, needs more time I think (5945 views)
Tasted by Patti_G. on 12/30/2021 & rated 94 points: This 2000 Vintage Port by Taylor Fladgate reminds me in many ways of the 2010 Chateau Pavie Macquin, St. Emilion Red Bordeaux Blend that had been breathing in my glass for an hour. (5189 views)
Tasted by RGCM Gananda on 11/20/2021 & rated 94 points: Deep black cherry, moving to plum notes on the nose. Full bodied and starts off with red cherry notes that seem pretty and open. It swiftly deepens and darkens with black cherry taking over and then moving into dark plum. It was like a swelling tidal wave of flavor intensity, depth and complexity. The mid-body has excellent density but while still allowing the fruit notes to be distinctly expressed (meaning that it doesn't feel like the depth is overpowering the complexities or concealing nuances). Tannins and spices on the backside provide contrast and structure, which left the wine feeling quite well balanced. The depth of the plum notes through the middle was impressive. This wine has many years to go at a high level and as well as this wine showed tonight, still has a clear ability to improve. I may wait until November 2023 for my next bottle. (5407 views)
(6394 views)
Tasted by stinkycook on 9/12/2021: Young, but approachable (5664 views)
Tasted by WST on 9/11/2021: We hosted another wine dinner for charity: My first of several bottles I purchased in 2003. Delicious, it shows no age whatsoever. This will not only be drinking well when my grand kids are aged, but the way things are going in the world, it may outlast our species. (5487 views)
Tasted by hackey37 on 8/11/2021 & rated 94 points: Drank for my son's 21st birthday. Dark, inky purple and completely opaque. Smells are raisins, coffee, and warm dark fruit. Tastes are currant heavy, sweet and tart dark cherry, cassis, and black licorice. Long finish with a very weighty mouth feel. Delicious and like my son, very youthful with many years ahead. (5798 views)
Tasted by hoservin on 5/8/2021 & rated 94 points: Served at cellar temperature. Dried cherry, blackberry, dates, clove, cinnamon, milk chocolate and tangerine. Excellent depth with a very long, layered finish. Paired with sticky toffee pudding. (5450 views)
Tasted by jwolf99 on 3/27/2021 & rated 93 points: First 2000 TF porto opened in celebration of my son's 21 birthday. Lots of alcohol upon initial pour which eventually burned off. Drank over two hours. Jammy plums and cedar gives way to dried tobacco, dark currants and dark chocolate on a long finish. (5837 views)
Tasted by sh6k on 3/27/2021 & rated 95 points: Showing well right now. Blueberries and vanilla and syrupy and tannins in great balance. Long finish rich velvety mouthfeel (5250 views)
Tasted by d'Artagnan on 3/12/2021 & rated 94 points: Un bébé! 94+ pts (5837 views)
Tasted by Sanlucar on 2/8/2021 & rated 92 points: Boozy & slightly more alcoholic than I would prefer but still a tremendous rendition of the 2000 Vintage, and it pairs superbly with a big Cuban (Hoyo de Monterrey, Double Corona). Bottled in 2002 and ready to drink right now, this dense and delicious Port is comparable to a massive Napa Cab such as Realm Cellars, The Bard. But obviously it stands in a rarified class of its own. Caution: the cork was in miserable condition. (6624 views)
Tasted by dbkitc on 12/24/2020 & rated 94 points: Deep color. Stern nose that is a cross between dry wine and typical vintage port: strong cassis and crushed rocks but also licorice and dried grapes. Complex but seemingly only hinting at what it will be. Medium / full palate with tremendous flavor depth - again not overly sweet with a lovely tobacco leaf finish. A very masculine port that has years in front of it. Needs to soften and harmonize to become truly special but I think it can get there. Serious. (94+)

Day 2 the fruit comes out nicely - myrtille. (5298 views)
Tasted by cubswinws on 4/26/2020 & rated 94 points: Drank from split. Cork completely fell apart requiring the coffee filter trick to salvage. Very nice nose and great depth. Can't wait to see how it progresses over the next few days. (8064 views)

Taylor (Fladgate)

Producer Website

Taylor's vintage ports are renowned for their massive structure, concentration of flavour and distinctively masculine style. Taylor's Port is also renowned for being amongst the longest lived of all ports.

Robert Parker: "This house must certainly be the Latour of Portugal. Their ports are remarkably backward yet still impressive when young. Of all the vintage ports, those of Taylor need the longest time to mature and even when fully mature seem to have an inner strength and firmness that keep them going for decades."

Port Blend

Over a hundred varieties of grapes (castas) are sanctioned for port production, although only five (Tinta Barroca, Tinto Cão, Tinta Roriz (Tempranillo), Touriga Francesa, and Touriga Nacional) are widely cultivated and used.
