 Tasted by alanr on 3/3/2015 & rated 91 points: Medium ruby in color, explosive nose of ripe fruit and spice, then vibrant deep cherry/strawberry fruit with spice notes, nice earthiness, and a mouthwatering acidity that lends just a slight pleasant tartness. Just delicious. (620 views)
 Tasted by alanr on 1/20/2014 & rated 91 points: Medium garnet in color, nose shows ripe fruit, which carries into the mouthwatering palate of juicy medium cherry/raspberry, strong but not tart acidity, some fine earthy tannins. Yummy and lip-smacking good, drinking very nicely already. (1527 views)
 Tasted by pifcho on 1/10/2014 & rated 92 points: Strongly recommend a pop'n pour if opening in the near term - and this is more than worth opening right now as it was one of the tastiest young Burgs I've had in a while. Dark berries and pine resin on the nose. Sweet black cherry fruit, lush and very juicy attacks the palate. The wine is almost velvety and perfectly balanced. For the first couple of hours it was impossible to put down the glass. With air the structure starts creeping in with tart acidity and resolved slightly drying tannins. Leftovers are quite nice on the second night, showing more of a blackberry profile with crunchy minerality. Drink over the short term and then put away for 10 years. (1263 views)
 Tasted by jblack323 on 2/9/2013 & rated 92 points: Drunk alongside a 2009 Chassagne-Montrachet and, although similar, this Santenay was clearly the more interesting, more complex, and more delicious of the two. Fun to try now, will hold the other for 7-9 yrs. (1621 views)
 Tasted by tooch on 1/12/2013 & rated 89 points: Saturday with David White (Domaine Wine Storage & Sun Wah - Chicago, IL): Pretty darn good stuff. Richly fruited, with some nice undertones of earth and minerals. A bit modern in approach, this seemed to have some lingering oak that gave the wine a bit of heft. Would be fun to see this age. Pinot Noir

Pinot Noir is the Noble red grape of Burgundy, capable of ripening in a cooler climate, which Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot will not reliably do. It is unpredictable and difficult both to grow and to vinify, but results in some of the finest reds in the world. It is believed to have been selected from wild vines two thousand years ago. It is also used in the production of champagne. In fact, more Pinot Noir goes into Champagne than is used in all of the Cote d'Or! It is also grown in Alsace, Germany, the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Croatia, Serbia, Italy, Austria, and so forth, with varying degrees of success.

Burgundy - The province of eastern France, famous for its red wines produced from Pinot Noir and its whites produced from Chardonnay. (Small of amounts of Gamay and Aligoté are still grown, although these have to be labeled differently.) The most famous part of the region is known as the Cote d'Or (the Golden Slope). It is divided into the Cote de Beaune, south of the town of Beaune (famous principally for its whites), and the Cote de Nuits, North of Beaune (home of the most famous reds). In addition, the Cote Chalonnaise and the Maconnais are important wine growing regions, although historically a clear level (or more) below the Cote d'Or. Also included by some are the regions of Chablis and Auxerrois, farther north.
