Tasted by aChave on 3/14/2016 & rated 87 points: Dark, broad, fruity Chianti. Good, solid, but not remarkable. Lacks precision...but good rich food accompaniment. (2402 views) | |
Tasted by KeithAkers on 3/14/2013 & rated 86 points: Chianti Classico tasting- the black rooster crows at the dawn of a new age (Allerton Hotel, Chicago IL): Nose: Nice and easy nose with tones of red cherries, red fruits, herbs, and spice tones. The nose is well balanced, but lacking depth. Taste: Medium bodied with medium/high acidity. The mid-palate is lacking, but there are balanced tones of red cherries, herbs, and spice tones. Overall: This was a easy drinking Chianti Classico. It was lacking some depth, but the tones were nice and balanced. (4144 views) |

Fattoria NittardiProducer websiteSangiovese BlendSangiovese blend is used in CellarTracker for Italian wines to represent wines predominantly made of Sangiovese and blended with traditional Italian grapes. It is different than SuperTuscan which is a blend of Sangiovese with non-traditional (eg Bordeaux) varieties, often in closer to equal portions. For example, Chianti is at least 80% Sangiovese and will always be listed Sangiovese blend.ItalyItalian Wines (ItalianMade.com, The Italian Trade Commission) | Italian Wine Guide on the WineDoctorTuscanyTuscany (ItalianMade.com) | TuscanytChiantiConsorzio Vino Chianti | Chianti (wikipedia) |
