Tasted by bcc725 on 1/15/2010 & rated 87 points: Old world maker meets New World Region and young vines. New world wins. Took a day to come together....new world smoothness with dark fruit and vanilla oak. Liquid cobbler. Well executed if restrained Aussie is your style (2954 views)
Tasted by jamieirving on 7/6/2008 & rated 85 points: Made from 97% Syrah and 3% Marsanne some of this blend spends 12 months in French oak. The resulting wine is intense red in colour. It shows great fruit aromas, including blackberry, blueberry and blackcurrant, ground black pepper and tar. The palate is full and flavorsome - more dark fruits, wood and spice. Rounded tannins. Good finish. (2880 views)
Tasted by balassis on 2/12/2008 & rated 88 points: Made in Austalia by a famous Rhone producer. Popped and poured. Deep and bright ruby color. Nose plenty of cherries, currants and oak. Thick and full-bodied. Flavors of black forest fruits, licorice, cherries, oaky vanilla and exotic spices (green pepper, cinnamon, clove). Quite sweet aftertaste. Good shiraz but not exceptional. I think the Aussie producers do it better... (3322 views) |
