| ||Tasted by Outplaying on 2/9/2014: This is a reliable inexpensive white burgundy. A mix of apple and citrus with some saline, mineral, salted popped corn and very light butterscotch on the finish. Nice with a roasted beet and sautéed beet green salad. My last bottle but I think this will drink well for a while longer. (2391 views)|

An elegant tasting complex wine chock full of flavors including lemon, lots of mineral action and green apple. Perfect match with the Alaskan King Crab and Australian Lobster Tail we are having with it. I wish the Chardonnay producers from California who produce oak, citrus laden dull Chardonnays for over $35.00 would taste this wine and produce such a wine for $20.00 Highly recommended. The palate is more full bodied than the nose implies, opening with ripe orchard fruits and morning dew. Lemon, subtle toasted oak, and brown butter arise as the wine progressing, culminating in a medium finish of sour lemon, dried green herbs, and smoke. Though this wine is medium to full bodied, adequate acidity lends a bit of freshness to its flavors. It improved over the course of the evening, so be sure to decant or open well in advance. Appearance: bright, clear, medium lemon intensity.
Nose: clean, medium intensity, youthful aromas of stone fruit: peach; citrus fruit, orange, tropical fruit: banana, pineapple. Autolytic aromas of yeast, biscuit; dairy aromas of butter, oak aromas of vanilla.
Palate is: dry with medium acidity, medium alcohol, medium body and medium + flavor intensity. Flavors on the palate are youthful stone fruit of citrus, orange; green fruit of green apples, pear, autolytic aromas of yeast, oak aromas of vanilla. Length is medium +
Overall this is very good wine for its balance between acidity, alcohol and body and concentration of flavor medium + flavor intensity. The finish is medium +. This is youthful wine that is ready to drink but can improve for the next 3-5 years.
Maybe just a bare touch hot on the back end? The more pineapple new oak of the set.
Guess: Chardonnay, maybe hotter climate than Burgundy (or second wine which was a Chablis)

Bright, pleasant nose, but not big. Profound but delicate lemon flavors throughout the palate. Excellent thickness and consistency to the mouthfeel. Very bright, with great acidity. Hints of butter throughout, but done skillfully. The citrus is huge but not overwhelming. Really impressive. (3305 views)|

A little bigger in body then I remember and it seemed a little big compared to the red burgundy that followed it. There is enough acidity though to keep it crisp and refreshing. palate: this had an underlying bitterness that never dissipated. The lemon and mineral components were nice, but I couldn't get past the bitterness, which remained through the 2 hours it was opened and as it warmed. OK, but not a re-buy at $26 scalping price or even the $22 I've seen it for elsewhere. (3455 views)

Burgundy - The province of eastern France, famous for its red wines produced from Pinot Noir and its whites produced from Chardonnay. (Small of amounts of Gamay and Aligoté are still grown, although these have to be labeled differently.) The most famous part of the region is known as the Cote d'Or (the Golden Slope). It is divided into the Cote de Beaune, south of the town of Beaune (famous principally for its whites), and the Cote de Nuits, North of Beaune (home of the most famous reds). In addition, the Cote Chalonnaise and the Maconnais are important wine growing regions, although historically a clear level (or more) below the Cote d'Or. Also included by some are the regions of Chablis and Auxerrois, farther north.
