Tasted by maaike2 on 5/5/2023 & rated 90 points: Golden yellow. Fresh with pears and melon, good acidity! Incredible how young this wine still is. This was helas my last bottle from the 6 that I consumed over the past 8 years. Will survive more years! (457 views)
Tasted by Geoff on 2/18/2018 & rated 91 points: nice, light, clean, pears and apples, no noticeable oak. very enjoyable. (2269 views)
Tasted by Outplaying on 2/9/2014: This is a reliable inexpensive white burgundy. A mix of apple and citrus with some saline, mineral, salted popped corn and very light butterscotch on the finish. Nice with a roasted beet and sautéed beet green salad. My last bottle but I think this will drink well for a while longer. (11519 views)
Tasted by broadband013 on 11/6/2013 & rated 87 points: agreable mais un peu leger (11776 views)
Tasted by Outplaying on 5/20/2013: It's been almost two years since we've opened one of these. Earthy, flinty mineral with lemon custard, citrus, apple, salted popcorn and faint butterscotch. A little bigger than I remember but their is enough acidity and minerals to balance it out. Some saline on the finish. Good QPR. (12366 views)
Tasted by pwarms on 2/18/2013 & rated 87 points: Drank on my bday (4359 views)
Tasted by Nanda on 12/31/2012 & rated 91 points: Whoa - this has gotta be my new go to value white burgundy! Clean aromatic nose has minerals and sour apple. Palate is awash in juicy acidity -- packed with verve and energy. More sour apple and citrus rind. Clean, juicy, long finish. Really great stuff. Exciting! (11904 views)
Tasted by cos65 on 5/25/2012: medium lemon gold color, shy nose, nice, slightly tart, lemony, minerally, with just a finish of some bitter crab apple. A perfect foil for roasted king crab in butter, and a real value at 19$. almost **** (11486 views)
Tasted by Nyindallas on 4/28/2012 & rated 91 points: Pale yellow medium straw color. Nose opens with fresh aromas of buttery oak, citrus (lemon) and starfruit. An elegant tasting complex wine chock full of flavors including lemon, lots of mineral action and green apple. Perfect match with the Alaskan King Crab and Australian Lobster Tail we are having with it. I wish the Chardonnay producers from California who produce oak, citrus laden dull Chardonnays for over $35.00 would taste this wine and produce such a wine for $20.00 Highly recommended. Will buy more. (4900 views)
Tasted by Rob and Meg on 4/10/2012 & rated 86 points: The nose is reserved, but nevertheless characterized by fresh lemon, toasted oak, brine, and dried mint. The palate is more full bodied than the nose implies, opening with ripe orchard fruits and morning dew. Lemon, subtle toasted oak, and brown butter arise as the wine progressing, culminating in a medium finish of sour lemon, dried green herbs, and smoke. Though this wine is medium to full bodied, adequate acidity lends a bit of freshness to its flavors. It improved over the course of the evening, so be sure to decant or open well in advance. R&M 86 (4829 views)
Tasted by Cblakejordan on 4/7/2012 & rated 91 points: Aged oak with enough structure. Lemon-y and field grass fades as nice acid takes the wine further. Delighted I have several bottles of this, French chard is the way to go. (4311 views)
Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 3/6/2012: Wine was tasted blind.

Appearance: bright, clear, medium lemon intensity.

Nose: clean, medium intensity, youthful aromas of stone fruit: peach; citrus fruit, orange, tropical fruit: banana, pineapple. Autolytic aromas of yeast, biscuit; dairy aromas of butter, oak aromas of vanilla.

Palate is: dry with medium acidity, medium alcohol, medium body and medium + flavor intensity. Flavors on the palate are youthful stone fruit of citrus, orange; green fruit of green apples, pear, autolytic aromas of yeast, oak aromas of vanilla. Length is medium +

Overall this is very good wine for its balance between acidity, alcohol and body and concentration of flavor medium + flavor intensity. The finish is medium +. This is youthful wine that is ready to drink but can improve for the next 3-5 years.

Maybe just a bare touch hot on the back end? The more pineapple new oak of the set.

Guess: Chardonnay, maybe hotter climate than Burgundy (or second wine which was a Chablis)

2009 J.M. Boillot Montagny 1er Cru (3608 views)
Tasted by MarkL on 10/20/2011 & rated 91 points: Rich. Waxy. Crisp green fruits. Buttery. Just on the right side of flabby. (4105 views)
Tasted by rrschrumjr on 7/16/2011: Ordered off the wine list at Bourbon Steak in Washington, DC. Struck me as a great value for a wine-list purchase. Pale yellow in the glass. Bright, pleasant nose, but not big. Profound but delicate lemon flavors throughout the palate. Excellent thickness and consistency to the mouthfeel. Very bright, with great acidity. Hints of butter throughout, but done skillfully. The citrus is huge but not overwhelming. Really impressive. (4062 views)
Tasted by Outplaying on 6/25/2011: We took this to gilmores in west Chester. Tart citrus fruit with salted butter popcorn notes and some mineral. A little bigger in body then I remember and it seemed a little big compared to the red burgundy that followed it. There is enough acidity though to keep it crisp and refreshing. Very nice - I think I'll pick up some more. (4041 views)
Tasted by tarheel17 on 6/12/2011 & rated 85 points: nose: very lemony, some mineral, not too complex
palate: this had an underlying bitterness that never dissipated. The lemon and mineral components were nice, but I couldn't get past the bitterness, which remained through the 2 hours it was opened and as it warmed. OK, but not a re-buy at $26 scalping price or even the $22 I've seen it for elsewhere. (4284 views)
Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 4/7/2011: Definately heavier of extract and fuller bodied than the 2008. But still crisp, lingering acidity. Showing very youthful right now, crisp, brilliant, served a bit warm. We will see how it opens! (4206 views)
Tasted by Outplaying on 3/8/2011: Initial nose of butterscotch turned to apples and pears and then some mineral. On the pallet apple and pear fruit with vanilla, spice, butterscotch and oak. Not very acidic but just enough to keep it from being flabby. Ann and I both enjoyed it. (4134 views)
Tasted by hjrich on 2/11/2011 & rated 92 points: Glass was supple and delicious. A very round wine with malolactic and notes of French oak - a perfect example of what I look for in white burgundy. (4271 views)

Le vignoble est inséré dans un paysage de falaises calcaires et de garrigues.
Les sols sont argilo-calcaires, caillouteux, filtrants. Les écarts de températures diurnes et nocturnes favorisent l’élaboration de vins d’une grande finesse.

Burgundy

Les vins de Bourgogne (Bureau interprofessionnel des vins de Bourgogne) (and in English)

Burgundy - The province of eastern France, famous for its red wines produced from Pinot Noir and its whites produced from Chardonnay. (Small of amounts of Gamay and Aligoté are still grown, although these have to be labeled differently.) The most famous part of the region is known as the Cote d'Or (the Golden Slope). It is divided into the Cote de Beaune, south of the town of Beaune (famous principally for its whites), and the Cote de Nuits, North of Beaune (home of the most famous reds). In addition, the Cote Chalonnaise and the Maconnais are important wine growing regions, although historically a clear level (or more) below the Cote d'Or. Also included by some are the regions of Chablis and Auxerrois, farther north.

# 2013 Vintage Notes:
* "2013 is a vintage that 20 years ago would have been a disaster." - Will Lyons
* "low yields and highly variable reds, much better whites." - Bill Nanson
* "Virtually all wines were chaptalised, with a bit of sugar added before fermentation to increase the final alcohol level." - Jancis Robinson

# 2014 Vintage Notes:
"We have not had such splendid harvest weather for many years. This will ensure high quality (fragrant, classy and succulent are words already being used) across the board, up and down the hierarchy and well as consistently from south to north geographically apart from those vineyards ravaged by the hail at the end of June." - Clive Coates

# 2015 Vintage Notes:
"Low yields and warm weather allowed for ample ripeness, small berries and an early harvest. Quality is looking extremely fine, with some people whispering comparisons with the outstanding 2005 vintage. Acid levels in individual wines may be crucial." - Jancis Robinson

# 2017 Vintage Notes:
"Chablis suffered greatly from frost in 2017, resulting in very reduced volumes. As ever, the irony seems to be that what remains is very good quality, as it is in the Côte d’Or. Cooler nights across the region have resulted in higher-than-usual acidity, with good conditions throughout the harvest season allowing for ripe, healthy fruit." - Jancis Robinson

# 2018 Vintage Notes:
"The most successful region for red Burgundy in 2018 was the Côte de Beaune. The weather was ideal in this area, with just enough sunlight and rain to produce perfectly balanced wines naturally." - Vinfolio
