Tasted by pmarlo on 4/25/2016 & rated 95 points: Other taster said it was great right out of the gate. The fruit was initially concealed and didn't emerge for me until the next day. But then it was absolutely delicious. Intense yet well balanced, no rough edges at all. Highly recommended. I drank this at 7 years and plan to try the next within 5. (547 views)
Tasted by ScottPreston on 4/2/2016 & rated 94 points: Absolutely singing right now. Great balance of fruit, tannin, and finish. (983 views)
Tasted by Coswinetaster on 3/27/2016 & rated 93 points: 93 Dark fruit and spice on the nose. This opened up nicely after an hour. Beautiful ruby color; long legs. Nice fruit on the palate-raspberries and cherries. Some chocolate. Slight peppery finish. Great with Easter Ham. (1022 views)
Tasted by Filippo on 3/26/2016 & rated 92 points: Still amazing stuff...but maybe a bit off peak.... (1142 views)
Tasted by steinersing on 3/20/2016 & rated 91 points: nicely done - did not get the Pinot elements, though - not that much acidity (1193 views)
Tasted by RJ Gordon on 3/13/2016 & rated 96 points: Always spectacular...its a delicious full bodied SC pinot. (855 views)

Tasted by Jimpren on 2/14/2016 & rated 94 points: Super smooth. Missing a bit of fruit but still awesome. (1485 views)
Tasted by corkscrews on 1/30/2016 & rated 93 points: Sadly my last bottle, similar to last note, drinking great, like velvet. www.winelx.com (1733 views)
Tasted by eeeeeradicator on 1/22/2016 & rated 94 points: I'm back to my original verdict. Not sure what caused the problems with the previous bottle, but this one was incredibly smooth and floral. (1784 views)
Tasted by pjhr on 12/29/2015 & rated 91 points: Not as vibrant as previous bottles. (2071 views)
Tasted by SMZ on 12/27/2015 & rated 94 points: Sensational...still has some life left. (2057 views)
Tasted by eeeeeradicator on 12/24/2015 & rated 91 points: Doesn't measure up to past bottles. Still an excellent, enjoyable wine but some slight burnt characteristics crept into this one. (1627 views)
Tasted by Castle Peak on 12/23/2015 & rated 96 points: Loved this wine, despite the #1 WS ranking a few years ago. Beautifully layered, textured and balanced. Flavorful, elegant and a perfect repressentation of top tiered CA Pinot Noir. This is the highest CT rating I have given a wine. (1484 views)
Tasted by miker02 on 12/12/2015 & rated 94 points: Deep red in color. Powerful and complex pinot. Great fruit. Seems to be in its prime. Excellent. (1532 views)
Tasted by birdeaux on 12/6/2015 & rated 96 points: A great friend, Winedog1 made a visit to us so we decided to open some bottles to celebrate the occasion. At my request, Winedog1 agreed to select the rating and prepare tasting notes for this wine.

super strawberry; blueberry; smooth; sweet; light; PN tang (775 views)
Tasted by cr8it on 12/5/2015 & rated 98 points: Ripe red fruit, soft cola, cherries, lingering fruit and jam - delicious
The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are slow. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like cedar and cinnamon. It tastes like raspberry and black currant (cassis). The body is medium. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity. (1362 views)
Tasted by isaacjamesbaker on 11/27/2015 & rated 90 points: Thanksgiving Weekend (Lancaster, PA): Rich and chewy, full-throttle of course, still lots of structure to the tannins though, and surprisingly there’s hints of acid. Packed with pure, full fruit (black cherries, chocolate-covered cherries, raspberry jam, but I also get rich cola and baking spice notes. Fun, undeniably delicious, but I didn’t drink this with food, and I’m not sure I would ever bring a wine like this to a dinner. All other wines over the Thanksgiving were chosen for their food-friendliness – except this and an 03 CdP, which we passed around late at night. This worked wonderfully in that context. (1408 views)
Tasted by joet626 on 11/24/2015 & rated 94 points: Decanted for an hour prior to eating with dinner. Really good! Nice pepper and spice--this has really evolved since the last bottle I had early 2014. Outstanding! (1461 views)
Tasted by jwkagel on 11/22/2015 & rated 92 points: Could probably let it get some more time to open or even a little longer in the bottle - but still a fantastic wine! (1439 views)
Tasted by corkscrews on 11/20/2015 & rated 91 points: A nose of cherries and spice, medium amber in color. A medium to full bodied Pinot, with currants, cherries, good acidity, dust and spice on finish. Hard to ever say anything bad about a KB wine, drink now. www.winelx.com (1620 views)
Tasted by BABLUES on 11/7/2015 & rated 92 points: Excellent KB Sonoma Coast. A little hot, but other than that a fabulous wine. Still think the 2010 RRV is my favorite of the appellation wines (1645 views)
Tasted by Stumpy on 11/5/2015 & rated 92 points: A big and rich Pinot that is able to stay this side of overdone. I really enjoyed the bottle but requires some heavier food to work. Actually a nice bottle to drink without food. (1651 views)
Tasted by Pcrage on 10/31/2015 & rated 94 points: Drinking very well right now. Lovely. (1571 views)
Tasted by Ron Van Holland on 10/16/2015 & rated 92 points: Irresistible, elegant pinot with gobsmacking unsweetened cola structure mid-palate. Be careful about starting this wine too early: it will be gone before the meal is served. (1777 views)

Pinot Noir

Varietal character (Appellation America) | Varietal article (Wikipedia)
Pinot Noir is the Noble red grape of Burgundy, capable of ripening in a cooler climate, which Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot will not reliably do. It is unpredictable and difficult both to grow and to vinify, but results in some of the finest reds in the world. It is believed to have been selected from wild vines two thousand years ago. It is also used in the production of champagne. In fact, more Pinot Noir goes into Champagne than is used in all of the Cote d'Or! It is also grown in Alsace, Germany, the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Croatia, Serbia, Italy, Austria, and so forth, with varying degrees of success.

California Wines (Wine Institute of California)

California is one of the most diverse wine regions in the world, with almost 100 grape varieties grown in over 100 viticultural areas, including dozens of different microclimates and soil types, as well as a very individualistic set of winemakers, many with international experience, which adds to and deepens that diversity.
