Tasted by RickyT12 on 1/30/2022 & rated 95 points: Popped for 2 hrs
Drinking well. I would say it is probably peaking. Very little acid and tannins. Seems quite integrated. Ink, blackberry, big fruit without being too jammy. Dark chocolate, hint of cinnamon, very surprised it’s 100% Syrah. A banana cream liquor aspect I have on tasted on a an SQN in the past. Excellent pre-dessert wine. Very impressed with this wine. Dried meat, chocolate covered raspberry. Long finish. Big fan of this wine! Great mouthfeel. Even a hint of vegetal. A bit of softness. Lacks a bit of complexity, but I did not expect that from a New World Syrah. I am very impressed this hits all the things I love about new world. (1370 views)
Tasted by mflesh on 1/21/2022: I open the first of the two of these about 2 and 1/2 years ago, almost 3 years ago. My note sucked a little bit at that time, probably because I couldn't remember ipso facto! I would say that this wine had a very mature purple and black roasted fruit profile. Not so sure how it really tasted in 2019, but it was definitely ready to go as a pop and pour now! Nose of roasted black and purple fruit. Violets and wildflowers. Very soft and rounded front. Slid into the darker free profile to the middle and finish. Finished with vanilla, creme de cocoa, mature roasted black fruits, figs. Still actually rather stiff tannin on this one which was a surprise. Really thought that this was going to be a little softer on the finish and maybe a little more integrated than it had to be 2.5 years ago. This one could still benefit from 5 to 7 years of additional cellar aging, but really is quite a fantastic PNP wine. (1448 views)
Tasted by asteff on 8/8/2021 & rated 94 points: Big fruit, nice meaty/savory bits. Voluptuous feel. (1410 views)
Tasted by mvande21 on 9/26/2020 & rated 97 points: Killer. Black and blue fruits. Balanced, smooth and mouth coating. Exquisite finish. (1705 views)
Tasted by spidersva on 3/19/2020 & rated 97 points: I don't know that I know enough to rate a wine this high, but it was one of/the best wine I've had in a year. Boom. (1547 views)
Tasted by craigg577 on 6/25/2019 & rated 94 points: The wine looks ruby colored and there is no sediment in the bottle. Medium bodied and has fleshy texture, complex finish, and low acidity. It's really drinking quite nicely and is very balanced. We all agreed it could be the best, if not among the best, syrah's that we have ever had. Highly recommend. Agree with drinking window to 2020 because it's good right now, but should last longer. (1726 views)
Tasted by rockthomii@gmail.com on 5/19/2019 & rated 94 points: Wow, my first Booker and it was awesome. Big prominent nose of blueberry, blackberries, red cherry, ash and tree bark. Flavors are similar with a nice tannic dryness that runs along a long cherry cola sweet finish. Medium acidity. Really nice, 94-95. (1729 views)
Tasted by adammichael on 5/13/2019 & rated 96 points: Opened for Mother’s Day among with a Saxum Bone rock ‘11. The fracture is at a really nice place right now, with blue and black fruits, Paso minerality and vanilla cola (almost root beer like) flavors with a touch of smoke, still very present tannin structure and acidity. Booker has a very distinct flavor profile in this wine that I have loved for many vintages. Bummed this was my last bottle. Will be bidding for another:) (1572 views)
Tasted by mflesh on 5/10/2019 & rated 93 points: A bit more refined than the 22 vertigo, likely because of the five additional years in bottle. There really is no replacement to time in the bottle. This has black and blue and purple fruit everywhere. Cola and herb. Definitely much more ready to go and than the 2015 vertigo. Probably the most structured non Cabernet bottle of the night.  Tasted by 818wines on 12/28/2018 & rated 94 points: Still very big and very rich. (1449 views)
Tasted by danielbleier on 12/18/2018 & rated 96 points: Mighty wine, with waves of blackberry and licorice, subtle oak notes and a touch of grilled meat. Good for years to come (1173 views)
Tasted by DAGwine on 8/31/2018 & rated 93 points: Very good after a little swirling in the glass. Nice rich color and good legs. It was my only bottle, and I'm glad I didn't wait any longer to drink it. (1588 views)
Tasted by DrBad on 6/9/2018 & rated 95 points: Coravin tasting with Gorman and Standish Syrahs. Smoky and woodsy aromas. Big mouthfeel with blackberries, toast, licorice and a smoky earthiness. Delicious! (1849 views)
Tasted by ravbik on 4/20/2018 & rated 92 points: Ripe, somewhat too sweet for me Syrah
Full bodied (1775 views)
Tasted by Redguy on 1/23/2018: Still excellent, though has lost some depth and the finish is starting to thin just a little. Recommend drinking now. (1910 views)
Tasted by Ismann on 1/5/2018 & rated 92 points: This is a HUGE Syrah. Inky, viscous, jammy explosion of dark fruits. Would definitely recommend pairing with food, obviously a grilled piece of meat. (1713 views)
Tasted by timcan on 12/25/2017 & rated 92 points: Not as good as the last bottle I had, maybe slightly past its prime? Felt muted compared to the 2010 Shafer Relentless tasted alongside. (1677 views)
Tasted by Quiet Lion on 12/17/2017 & rated 93 points: Popped and poured. Silky and fruity, a great sipping wine but the price seems to keep creeping up. (1488 views)
Tasted by Matt and Rebecca on 12/4/2017 & rated 95 points: Quite possibly the best Paso Syrah I have ever drank. 2010, just opened it December 2017. Could still age for many more years. Amazing. (1621 views)
Tasted by Backdoctor on 11/20/2017 & rated 93 points: Can prob go a year or so longer but its drinking well now after an hour decant. (1393 views)
Tasted by tantotinto on 11/2/2017 & rated 92 points: Smooth, lush fruit and a touch of cinnamon. Not a lot of nuance but delicious nonetheless. It is in a good spot now and I would be surprised if there is much upside in holding this longer. (1554 views)
Tasted by PinotPaul on 10/1/2017 & rated 95 points: Fabulous Syrah. Still going strong and will probably last for several years. (1620 views)
Tasted by fishkabob on 9/21/2017 & rated 95 points: Peaking now. Probably at it's peak for another 2 years. (1654 views)
Tasted by azscot on 8/26/2017 & rated 93 points: Opened nicely after one hour decant. Ripe fruit with chocolate notes. Well balanced and in its drinking window. Might be better with another year but drinking well now (1614 views)

2010 Booker Vineyard Syrah Fracture

100% Syrah
The one thing you can count on year after year is Fracture's gorgeous consistency. The 2010 shows purity and finesse with layers of rich dark fruit and loamy earth. As in past years, the 2010 Fracture has intense fruit up front, showing soft lines and beautiful French oak integration. It maintains an extremely long finish while possessing stunning aromatics and impeccable balance. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2018

Syrah

Varietal article (Wikipedia) | (Wines Northwest)

Note that some producers in the Northern Rhone distinguish between simply Syrah and "Serine", the latter described as ‘an ancient clone of Syrah, the berries of which are more oval-shaped and less deeply pigmented than Syrah’ by producer Tardieu-Laurent.

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.
