| | Tasted by primitivo on 4/25/2013 & rated 92 points: Pear and honeysuckle perfume, crisp acidity with light to medium body, nice finish. This is a bottle of pure joy. I wish I could keep some around long enough to see how they age. (1454 views) |
| | Tasted by Frank Murray III on 4/7/2013: I really enjoy this wine. Tangerine, lime, nectarine and good supporting acidity. And to Larry P's comment that me made when we tasted the wine today, he said 'kefir lime', and indeed this is the cool core that drives this wine. Just dig this bottle. Thanks for bringing this, Alan. (2134 views) |
| | Tasted by Loren Sonkin on 4/6/2013 & rated 92 points: I think 2010 is a great vintage for Huet. This was from a 375. It is still showing as a baby. Great acidity. Nice fruit. Medium bodied. These are so delicious young. (1902 views) |
| | Tasted by ktrh on 4/4/2013 & rated 90 points: Immediately surprisingly unclean, but it tightens up and after a lot of air emerges as an excellent and very pure wine. 90-91p (2130 views) |
| | Tasted by stiang on 4/1/2013 & rated 91 points: Svært rik og mineralsk vin. Trenger 3-4 luft om den skal drikkes nå. Flott til chevre- og rødbetmousse. (1949 views) |
| | Tasted by ddsolomon2000 on 3/22/2013 & rated 89 points: So so with pizza. This wine has ratings inflation. (1811 views) |
92+ pts (3006 views) |
| | Tasted by angryphoton on 1/30/2013 & rated 92 points: Really nice wine, taste a bit off-dry but it is a dry wine. A melange of fruit like pineapple, pear, apricot and some quince. Notes of honey are there as well but is definitely balanced by the laser like acidity. Quite a value for what it brings to the table. (1106 views) |
| | Tasted by WST on 1/28/2013 & rated 94 points: Very consistent bottle to bottle, no change from my previous four TN's. This might be my WOTY two years in a row. (3049 views) |
| | Tasted by WST on 1/23/2013 & rated 94 points: The first bottle I had was an epiphany wine, and every bottle since has captivated. Pit fruit and grapefruit, honey and honeysuckle. Polished mouthfeel with beautiful focus and cut. On the demi- side of sec. (3000 views) |
| | Tasted by drwine2001 on 1/10/2013: 2010 and 2011 Huet Vouvray Sec (Arlequin Wine Merchant, San Francisco): Pear and honeysuckle. Light but adequate flesh. This is so much purer and focused than the 2011 version with just a hint of terroir overlying the great fruit. Driving back end acidity. Lovely and lots of development ahead. (4335 views) |
| | Tasted by mmh on 1/6/2013 & rated 92 points: Consistent with my previous note, but this time my wife liked it as well. An explosion of stones and lemons in the mouth! (3003 views) |
| | Tasted by hudamang on 12/28/2012: What a complex white! Tropical, mineral, lemons...kept evolving and had a nice mouthfeel. I havent had any aged Huets but the young ones sure taste good. (2666 views) |
| | Tasted by WST on 12/23/2012 & rated 94 points: 2012 is nearly over, and this is still my white WOTY. Every bottle has been spectacular. On the demi- side of sec. Lemon and pit fruit, great cut, polished mouthfeel with a citrus bite. (2696 views) |
| | Tasted by WST on 11/22/2012 & rated 94 points: As good as ever. On the demi side of sec. Amazing density and viscosity, lifted by complex white pit fruit, grapefruit, and acidity. I'm going to keep popping these until they shut down, then ignore what's left for a dozen years. (3312 views) |
| | Tasted by Life At Your Leisure on 11/2/2012 & rated 92 points: Golden yellow color with a dry, mineral-filled mouthfeel. Very refreshing with sweet hints of lemon, lime, pear, and ginger that lingers in this tightly-structured wine. Great balance with fresh acidity. This wine was also used to pair magnificently with seafood risotto. Should drink better from 2013 to 2020. (1388 views) |
| | Tasted by Anonymous on 10/28/2012: Nose of chalk and lime, with a tightly wound palate, very structured (seemed more so than the last bottle), tastes like biting into a fresh lime buffered with white fruit. Lovely. Buy more and hold. (3616 views) |
| | Tasted by indiscriminate palate on 10/26/2012 & rated 96 points: Popped and poured and enjoyed over two hours. Amazing nose of flowers, lemon/lime, grapefruit; Very mineral and herbal palate, on top of light honeysuckle sweetness, grapefruit. Verve, high acidity, almost sauvignon-blanc-like but on a heavier waxy body. Long lime finish.
Absolutely fantastic!
Will improve blah blah give it years blah blah Huet should be old blah blah age-worthy blah -- this is SINGING now! (3495 views) |
| | Tasted by Frank Murray III on 10/8/2012: I have drank and bought several of these but I can never seem to get around to doing a note. This time I will, drank from a 375 opened last night. Slight chill, too. Nectarine, yellow apple, a strawberry note, mango, just a real nice melange of fruits. Then the finish kicks in, flushed with nice acidity, kiwi and green apple, then some honey, then more acidity. This remains delicious and still my front runner for white WOTY for 2012. (3972 views) |
| | Tasted by fournet on 9/16/2012 & rated 94 points: After 10 minutes this was simply outstanding. I must buy more of this. Probably the best QPR bottle of the year for me. Proper acidity, minerals. (3907 views) |
| | Tasted by coreywb on 9/12/2012 & rated 93 points: Gorgeous floral nose, pretty yet not overpowering. Nice straw color. Terrific body. Acidity makes it crisp and will allow it to match to a host of foods. Had with Halibut and pilaf and it was excellent. Went out and bought more. (3930 views) |
| | Tasted by drwine2001 on 8/17/2012: Immediately floral nose. Bracing acidity, fruit very much in the background now, but not too austere. (3757 views) |
| | Tasted by jmht on 8/14/2012 & rated 93 points: Wow, an exciting expression of chenin and vouvray! Subtle nose of lemon zest and wax; palate of candied lemon, lemon drops, citrus zest, minerals, and more sec-tendre than sec, but exquisite balance and complexity. I tasted this same wine a year ago at Domaine Huet and it then it was a tight acid-driven wine showing all the same elements but somehow lacking in "love". It is now showing the love, and I suspect will only improve with time. Drink now, cellar 5 years, 10 years, 25 years... drink whenever. (3801 views) |
| | Tasted by honest bob on 8/11/2012 & rated 89 points: From 75cl, popped and poured in a restaurant. Sorry, can't join the chorus of adulation, not yet anyway. This massive, sweet, concentrated CB needs at least 5 years to lose some of its puppy fat. Once it does, I'm sure it will be delicious. But at this stage it is closed-up tight, monolithic, not even remotely "sec" (think something between a Mosel Kabinett and Spätlese in terms of sweetness). There is good acidity in there somewhere, waiting to emerge from the monolith. Not much fun tonight - were this a New World CB I'd say 86-87P - but in hope of great things to come, let's make a wild guess and project 89P(+) (3426 views) |
