Tasted by blove on 3/31/2015: Quite good, especially for the price. Mid to fuller body, but not overwhelming. Had alongside a Plumpjack and enjoyed this more. Age is driving more interesting flavors, as well. (316 views)
Tasted by rickv2wine on 12/13/2014 & rated 91 points: Drinking very well here. A little light on the fruit, but great minerality it in the background (649 views)
Tasted by rickv2wine on 9/21/2014 & rated 88 points: Not exactly a Cavenders cab, or of a Zen drinkers cab. This is a big fruit bomb with overly round tenants. The fruit is Sunripened and almost raisin-ish. To be fair I had this after a 2005 Dunn, so part of the singular dimensional nature of the body, could be simply the difference in the quality of the wines. (892 views)
Tasted by CieloVista on 5/26/2014 & rated 88 points: Dark ruby red with aromas of raspberries and blackberries with spices. It was balanced, full bodied, dry, smooth and rich with more raspberry flavors than dark fruit. Nice clean and medium on the finish. (1273 views)
Tasted by Halfeel on 12/5/2013 & rated 93 points: This is drinking really well right now. Hard to find much of a fault with a wine that tastes this good for ~$25 per bottle. Wish I had bought more at the same price point. (1989 views)
Tasted by ataraxy on 6/11/2013 & rated 89 points: Perfectly pleasant and straightforward, solid tannins, short finish, no nose. (2754 views)
Tasted by BluesFan on 5/29/2013 flawed bottle: Corked (2435 views)
Tasted by Wink on 4/29/2013 & rated 90 points: I bought this last August as a singleton. I intended to drink the '09 Mountain Cuvee to see if I needed to purchase this by the case as I have done with earlier vintages. For some reason, I never got around to opening this bottle until tonight. It is excellent, as usual, and performs well above its pay grade. Dark purple with a ruby rim. Nose of blackberry, mint, vanilla, and mocha. Ripe, vibrant palate of blackberry, plum, mocha, and espresso. Excellent length. Mouthwatering acidity. Supple tannins. Year after year, the Mountain Cuvee delivers terrific QPR for Napa Valley (2450 views)
Tasted by MSPWineGuy on 1/11/2013 & rated 91 points: Dark garnet color, pink rim. Intense aromatics of raspberry compote, smashed blackberries, toasted herbs, vanilla, and spices. Palate confirms, v. dry finish with med tannins and med plus finish. Would definitely go for this again. (2936 views)
Tasted by Karl Halicke on 12/19/2012 & rated 88 points: Nice red fruit on the nose. Just a bit too tight for my liking. (2550 views)
Tasted by bcsmithga on 12/3/2012: Better on day 2. (2179 views)
Tasted by Halfeel on 11/28/2012 & rated 91 points: Even better on day 2. (1914 views)
Tasted by closdupapes on 11/7/2012 & rated 90 points: Consistently a favorite. (2172 views)
Tasted by RougeAmore on 11/4/2012 & rated 90 points: Very nice bordeaux blend with smooth tannins, berry flavors and a medium finish. Wonderful value (1609 views)
Tasted by bunkie on 11/3/2012 & rated 90 points: This is one of my favorite under 30 dollar wines. (1452 views)
Tasted by patsox on 11/1/2012 & rated 90 points: Very dry and Bordeaux-like. (1416 views)
Tasted by ivsimler on 10/28/2012 & rated 89 points: DEELICIOUS AND NUTRITIOUS...eeerr...or something like that. Buy and drink...buy and drink....that is how we do it with this wine. (1348 views)
Tasted by Bakusboy1 on 10/23/2012 & rated 90 points: Ok, this is always a fun to drink. POW! Right in the kisser with bold but silky black fruits and spice, hints of vanilla and angular "watch me walk" finish. Pretty decent acidity with always ripe tannins that are never tart or astringent. Mid-palate is a touch hollow and the alcohol is definitely high , otherwise this would get a 92. It gets a 90 because it certainly a fair to good value at $25-30 my local shop. (1448 views)
Tasted by bianca15 on 10/7/2012 & rated 88 points: Nice flavor, smooth. A peppery finish. Very good. (1584 views)
Tasted by ivsimler on 8/31/2012 & rated 88 points: Such an awesome wine. (1890 views)
Tasted by closdupapes on 7/15/2012 & rated 90 points: Always consistant. Great body. Year after year is a pleaser. (2526 views)
Tasted by wmccone54 on 7/7/2012 & rated 90 points: Very approachable and smooth with loads of red and black berry fruits. Long finish. (2543 views)
Tasted by rburwell on 7/6/2012 & rated 90 points: good as always (2481 views)
Tasted by Dasher on 6/27/2012 & rated 90 points: Sorry to see this guy go. (2639 views)
Tasted by Ceo on 6/20/2012 & rated 90 points: Verry good wine popped and poured. Fit our meal perfectly and was better on the 2nd glass. Need to try more! (2652 views)

Red Bordeaux Blend

Read about the grapes used to produce Bordeaux The variety Red Bordeaux Blend in CellarTracker implies any blend using any or all of the five traditional Bordeaux varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec. As such, this is used worldwide, whether for wines from Bordeaux, Meritages from California and Canada, some Super-Tuscan wines etc.

California Wines (Wine Institute of California)

California is one of the most diverse wine regions in the world, with almost 100 grape varieties grown in over 100 viticultural areas, including dozens of different microclimates and soil types, as well as a very individualistic set of winemakers, many with international experience, which adds to and deepens that diversity.
