(5240 views) | | Tasted by Binniejo on 9/7/2014 & rated 85 points: Pretty good enjoyed but missing a little of the fruit flavour I enjoy (6300 views) | | Tasted by scottmlew on 7/6/2014 & rated 88 points: Holding up very well. Lots of citrus fruit on the nose and palate. Long aftertaste. Quite acidic. As in the past, great with seafood. (6811 views) | | Tasted by scottmlew on 11/29/2013 & rated 89 points: Was pleasant to sip on its own. Finish was a bit more bitter than I would have liked, but citrus fruits still dominate the taste. (8696 views) | | Tasted by Lanceamoore on 11/28/2013 & rated 86 points: Good, full flavored but light. (5397 views) | | Tasted by Binniejo on 8/18/2013 & rated 89 points: Always enjoy very consistent (5668 views) | | Tasted by Genghis88 on 6/23/2013 & rated 86 points: Nat's Here
Full bodied Greenish gold, grapefruit nose, citrus Some faint oakish hints Low acidity Fine for a BBQ quaffer, decent enough for food pairing Interesting bottle (5061 views) | | Tasted by Binniejo on 5/24/2013 & rated 87 points: Love this unpacked Chardonnay great with salad and grilled salmon (4848 views) | | Tasted by Petiger on 5/7/2013 & rated 90 points: So much better on day 2 (3852 views) | | Tasted by TriNorm on 4/22/2013 & rated 89 points: Clean, crisp. Very good. Not just a pretty bottle. (3945 views) | | Tasted by jnmcdonald@gmail.com on 4/1/2013 & rated 84 points: may have been going bad (3634 views) | | Tasted by fakeourway on 2/25/2013 & rated 85 points: blind tasted 2/25/13
nose: very fruit-forward w primarily tropical overtones, some minerality. a little hot.
palate: again with the fruits: pineapple, tangerine, lemon sorbet. no wood, but a little spiciness on the mid palate. pretty heavy in the mouth (tho not flabby) & a little hi in alc. (3558 views) | | Tasted by cdmoky on 11/12/2012 & rated 88 points: Crisp green apple. Straight forward with little complexity upfront but quite a long finish. (5689 views) | | Tasted by Zellao on 10/19/2012 & rated 91 points: Great Chard. Pungent Flavors of Apricot and Pear. Almost like a Sparkling Wine! (1933 views) | | Tasted by JoeDon6055 on 10/15/2012 & rated 91 points: Loving this wine with cheese!! Has some pear and apple on the tongue. Would buy again! (5961 views) | | Tasted by Obalde on 9/22/2012: pale gold; med developing, apple, butterscotch, honey blossom, banana, brioche, had a heaviness and density to the nose; dry, med+ acid, med+ body/alcohol, med intensity/finish, apples, touch of cream; good, drink now, lacked something on the mid palate, especially after the richness of the nose (3868 views) | | Tasted by Gjpass on 9/15/2012 & rated 90 points: - Light gold color and aromas of apricot and peach and has flavours of peach and apricot. (6240 views) | | Tasted by Gjpass on 9/3/2012 & rated 91 points: - Light gold color - Excellent Chardonnay. Worth every penny with light floral bouquet, very little malolactic fermentation and full finish with lasting flavor. (6052 views) | | Tasted by vatausae on 8/31/2012 & rated 88 points: No oak but still has a nice round flavor to it with just a small bit of acidity. Nice poor to start the evening. (5180 views) | | Tasted by chcook on 8/1/2012: Popped and poured. Color light straw. Nose with apples and toasted marshmallow. Palate fairly simple chardonnay with light acid on the finish. Really not interesting to me, although way preferable to an "oaked" equivalent. (5108 views) | | Tasted by DTWOB on 7/22/2012 & rated 90 points: No heavy butter or oak - sure, it is a chard, but with a profile more like a medium bodied Sav. Blanc. (5185 views) | | Tasted by RBurgundy99 on 7/21/2012 & rated 90 points: Gimmicky(but admittedly pretty cool) bottle hides a very nice unoaked chard. Back to Costco to buy some more. (5229 views) | | Tasted by kietkopelli on 7/12/2012 & rated 90 points: The best thing about this wine is the cool looking ceramic bottle. I like this wine but I think any CA Chardonnay fan would hate it for the lack of buttered popcorn. It is a zesty citrus forward summer wine with plenty of minerals and NO OAK. What disappoints is it has virtually no finish.
More fun to look at and pour than to "enjoy" but a serviceable Chardonnay if you want to break away from the pear and butter profile that is typical of Napa Chard.
Remember you don't drink the label. (5308 views) | | Tasted by defnefferson on 7/11/2012 & rated 91 points: Seamless flavors of lemon, apple, and butter, and chalk. Great acidity and mouthfeel. Good value. (5249 views) | | Only displaying the 25 most recent notes - click to see all notes for this wine... |

| Mer Soleil Producer websiteChardonnay The Chardonnay GrapeUSAAmerican wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.California2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson Central Coasthttp://www.ccwinegrowers.org/links.html
