Tasted by MoreWinePlease on 5/21/2014 & rated 89 points: Despite Galloni's 94 rating on this wine I'd give it an 89. Great color, good fruit, balance, nice finish and a value for Napa juice at $24+. Nothing too flashy or out of kilter. (845 views)
Tasted by RedValues on 5/27/2013 & rated 82 points: Decanted an hour, semi-transparent ruby color, bitter nose, medium mouthfeel, some tannins, too much oak and green notes on finish. (1999 views)
Tasted by hubas on 5/10/2013 & rated 90 points: Lots of oak and black currant and some eucalyptus (1881 views)
Tasted by VinoServant on 5/3/2013 & rated 89 points: It is important to note that when I opened and decanted this wine it is very warm in Northern California, and I think this is a reason why the wine was softer and more approachable on Day 1. See my note from 1/26/13. Really well made. The wine had notes of tobacco that mixed well with herbs, spice and dark fruit. (1817 views)
Tasted by HenrikJ on 4/30/2013 & rated 86 points: Quite fresh and berry stained bouquet with a hint of oak and vanilla, some bell peppers, some cassis, a decent complexity on the nose here. Palate has alright balance. Fruit forward and ripe as expected with sweet dark berry flavours but a balanced structure. Falls short on body and finish, but a good everyday Cabernet. (1862 views)
Tasted by RobJ on 4/2/2013 & rated 85 points: Stor frukt, svartvinbär, tillgängligt. Något obalanserat med mycket god doft men inte lika bra smak. (1564 views)
Tasted by ADiamond on 3/20/2013 & rated 84 points: Not a lot of body, nice fruit, no tannins, but lacked tremendous body and character. (858 views)
Tasted by Jona on 2/17/2013 & rated 78 points: Hmm.., I've tried other vintages and liked it quite much but this, not at the same level. Felt it too robust... (1034 views)
Tasted by vinovin on 2/16/2013 & rated 85 points: Just ok- lost much of the nice dark berry fruit and vanilla it once had. Drink now - will continue to loose the fruit it has left. Smoother tannins was the only pro. (973 views)
Tasted by VinoServant on 1/26/2013 & rated 88 points: Decanted for 2+ hours - Day 1 - overpowering oak and some rough edges, which was not a suprise. Day 2 --- wow --- totally different wine. The fruit shines and coats your tongue. Really nice. This wine along with the Mondavi Napa Valley, BV Napa Valley and BV Rutherford all sell for b/w $15 and $25, and they are great values (in my opinion). I would give this wine 3 years to soften up and then it will be fantastic. (1036 views)
Tasted by John Danza on 1/1/2013 & rated 88 points: Decanted four hours before service. Nose of cedar and menthol. Flavors of cassis and violets. There's some alcohol bite that dissapated somewhat in the glass. A nice wine at a really good price. (1123 views)
Tasted by Jay72274 on 11/15/2012: Day one: didn't decant, but probably should have. not a lot of fruit on the nose, mostly oak , some cedar, some smoke and tobacco flavors as well. Some black fruit on the palate, full bodied but finished with a lot of tannin and alcohol spike. not very immpressed at first, a bit harsh and unapproachable, but opened up a bit after about an hour, with a bit more darker fruit on both the nose and palate, blackberry and a bit of dark cherry. curious to see how this one does on day two. Day two, less oaky on the nose, still a bit of alcohol burn on the nose though. more dark cherry aroma coming through. mouthfeel is still medium, smoother than day one, relatively short finish, not much acidity, chalky tannin on the very dry finish. definitely more approachable and bit more open on day two. Matched up pretty well with a garlic/gruyere sausage pasta, helped cut through a bit of the tannin to ease the finish even more. (1462 views)
Tasted by Domaine Hudson on 10/16/2012 & rated 88 points: Yummy (1613 views)
Tasted by brianspross on 8/20/2012 & rated 87 points: This was a pretty good bottle, but did not love it. ($25.59). (1765 views)
Tasted by salkowski on 7/19/2012 & rated 90 points: Well balanced with good structure and a strong finish. I liked this one a lot. (1640 views)
Tasted by teamhams on 5/23/2012 & rated 88 points: Fruit forward on the nose like most 09 Cabs. Solid, if unspectacular mouthfeel with notes of dark and red fruit, oranges and chocolate. A good, quaffable wine with some nice balance. (1873 views)

California Wines (Wine Institute of California)

California is one of the most diverse wine regions in the world, with almost 100 grape varieties grown in over 100 viticultural areas, including dozens of different microclimates and soil types, as well as a very individualistic set of winemakers, many with international experience, which adds to and deepens that diversity.
