Tasted by Kahnru12 on 9/19/2014 & rated 89 points: Nice subtle grassy nose leading to apples and pears on entry. Nice mouthfeel that lingers. Coats the tongue and ends with light oaky finish. (303 views)
Tasted by Kahnru12 on 9/3/2014 & rated 91 points: Beautiful straw color. Pear, apple on the nose. Syrupy entry leads to honey flavor. The mouth feel, though, is its best attribute. Paired with chicken mushroom pasta dish. Wish we had a case of this! (339 views)
Tasted by mhenry on 12/15/2013 & rated 90 points: My last bottle. Why didn't I buy more? (711 views)
Tasted by GoBlue2002 on 9/30/2013 & rated 91 points: Same notes as last time, but this time we paired it with a Pancetta pea pasta in a sundried tomato cream sauce. The lovely full body paired well with the food, and the fruit shone through. Excellent at this price point. (862 views)
Tasted by GoBlue2002 on 7/5/2013 & rated 90 points: PnP from 56F wine fridge and drank over 2 hrs. This wine showed best warmer, but still cooler than room temp, say 65-70.
Yellow with a tinge of gold in color, with aromas and flavor of stone fruit, oak, pineapple, and butter. This is a solid full bodied chardonnay. The long creamy finish goes on and on, and has more complexity than expected.
This is a heavily (26% new Fench) oaked Cali chard which possesses enough fruit for balance, and as such is not a chard for the less oak crowd. (964 views)
Tasted by Barry Notes on 4/8/2013 & rated 88 points: PnP. Clear, Straw color. Proper Chard nose, very light oak, good fruit. Nothing off. $33 (1118 views)
Tasted by agorman on 2/20/2013 & rated 88 points: We liked it. Enjoyed with an ordinary dinner. (793 views)
Tasted by mhenry on 12/25/2012 & rated 90 points: A nice wine--light, not too oaky. (680 views)
Tasted by mhenry on 11/24/2012 & rated 91 points: First time I've tried a Rodney Strong chard. This was quite nice. Light, fragrant, nice finish. Very eligant wine. Would buy again. (662 views)
Tasted by King JR on 11/22/2012 & rated 92 points: Surprisingly delicious and fresh! ots of nice fruit - thoroughly enjoyable! (663 views)

California Wines (Wine Institute of California)

California is one of the most diverse wine regions in the world, with almost 100 grape varieties grown in over 100 viticultural areas, including dozens of different microclimates and soil types, as well as a very individualistic set of winemakers, many with international experience, which adds to and deepens that diversity.
