Tasted by John O' on 6/10/2015: in a great place (248 views)
Tasted by rickspicks on 6/3/2015 & rated 94 points: This was simply terrific - as always. Focused, clean, deep, intense flavors of cherry, straw berry, raspberry, earth & bramble. Medium weight with an elegant, balanced mouthfeel that is both lush & silky at the same time. This is not a fruit-bomb, but rather an elegant, balanced wine that is simply one of the finest California pinot's I have ever had. Compares very favorably with the best from the likes of Hansel, Dumol, Williams-Selyem, Marcassin, etc., and very different from the likes of Kosta Brown, Sea Smoke or Belle Glos. It is near its peak, but no rush. 93-94 (217 views)
Tasted by FlyinI on 5/31/2015 & rated 92 points: Starting to peak. Excellent. (218 views)
Tasted by RonniePiemonte on 4/18/2015 & rated 90 points: True to Inman style. Beautiful food wine or great for just sipping as a refreshment. Nicely balanced, not at all sweet, very clean. Pleasurable notes of oak are in the background. Excellent color and clarity. Seems to evolve toward the oak side in the glass after an hour. (324 views)
Tasted by John O' on 3/20/2015 & rated 93 points: gorgeous (411 views)
Tasted by afketter on 10/22/2014 & rated 93 points: This was drank about a month ago while at Jimmy's on the Park. One of the best Pinot's I've had. No formal notes, but both Linda and I were really wowed by this one. (866 views)
Tasted by mazik on 6/24/2014 & rated 93 points: Magnificent as usual, see previous notes. Seriously luscious nose with spice and strawberry up front, nicely balancing tart fruity acids and oak on the palate, long finish. Ripe but not overripe. The mouth feel is wonderful; it goes down the red lane like velvet. (1361 views)
Tasted by EvanJB on 5/11/2014 & rated 90 points: Nice balance, classic Pinot (1507 views)
Tasted by tomherer on 4/23/2014 & rated 93 points: So delicious, balanced, complete, and expressive of RRV. Rather than my usual bloviating, let me speak for the wine via a text from my wife:

"Opened the Inman pinot w/dinner w/kids and Nicole. Could tell from first sip was a special bottle. Already ordered replacement xoxo. "

She saved me a half glass, and yah, it's that good. (1558 views)
Tasted by RhoneG on 4/19/2014 & rated 93 points: Really delicious, takes a little time to emerge, but so easy to drink. (1435 views)
Tasted by rwerner on 3/21/2014 & rated 93 points: Beautifully made pinot. The nose is classic. Spicy black fruit which lingers on the mouth through the finish. (1161 views)
Tasted by mazik on 3/16/2014 & rated 93 points: Seriously luscious nose with spice and strawberry up front, nicely balancing tart fruity acids and oak on the palate, long finish. Ripe but not overripe. The mouth feel is wonderful; it goes down the red lane like velvet. I have more, wish I had a lot more. Up against Sea Smoke Ten, clearly held its own and more. (795 views)
Tasted by pifcho on 1/30/2014 & rated 90 points: Solid bottle of Cali Pinot. Deft sweet oak dominates the palate upfront with nice earthy tones on a medium length finish. Well balanced and restrained. No fireworks for me here, but a solid midweeker. (941 views)
Tasted by mazik on 1/26/2014 & rated 92 points: Exactly what it was in April, charming, complex but harmonious pinot at an excellent price, thanks Last Bottle. (831 views)
Tasted by svpandae on 1/12/2014: Very nice. Good value. A very balanced pinot that is ready for drinking now. (973 views)
Tasted by klomparens on 11/16/2013 & rated 90 points: Was first disappointed to find it was a screw top (just traditional in that way and want to see a cork). It was also not that expensive of a bottle so I didn't expect a lot.

However, this wine was EXCELLENT. I am spoiled in my Pinot history, and most disappoint. But this was bursting with fruit from the start, and also had some very nice complexity and mineral tones to make it a very satisfying wine.

I think I rate a bit lower than most, so some of the 92's I see are warranted, this wine is drinking extremely well right now, I've got two bottles left, don't know how long I'll want to wait to have another. (1369 views)
Tasted by Screameagle on 10/26/2013 & rated 92 points: What an amazing pinot that is drinking in it's prime. Joan and I absolutely loved it. A wonderful Last Bottle selection for sure. Just wish I had more of them in my cellar. (1374 views)
Tasted by rickspicks on 10/25/2013 & rated 93 points: Did not take notes, but this was terrific. Gorgeous ripe red fruits (raspberry, cherry, pomegranate), spice and earth. Great intensity and depth of flavors along with tons of complexity. Super-smooth texture, medium body and terrific balance. This is about as seamless and harmonious a wine as I have enjoyed for a while. Outstanding combination of flavors and texture. (1201 views)
Tasted by RhoneG on 10/6/2013 & rated 92 points: More elegance then power. Red cherry and cranberry fruit with nice acidity and grip. The palate follows the nose, really good drinking wine and money well spent. (1272 views)
Tasted by JOJ on 10/3/2013 & rated 92 points: Another great bottle. On the nose, bright, high-toned red fruit -- cranberry, pomegranate, and rhubarb -- intermingle with notes of pine needle and baking spice. Similar on the palate -- high-toned red fruit, with great acidity and a touch of mineral. Still fairly tight and tannic -- should improve from here. (1237 views)
Tasted by AllRed on 9/11/2013 & rated 91 points: Opened by tlv during dinner. Cranberry, pepper, clove, cinnamon and red fruit aromas with an earthy undertone. The palate follows the bouquet. Nice finish. (1118 views)
Tasted by Sauvyfan on 7/17/2013 & rated 93 points: Easily the finest $30 and under Pinot I've ever bought. Wish I could get more. Beautiful fruit, impeccable balance and great finish. (1127 views)
Tasted by WineScoundrel on 5/8/2013 & rated 93 points: Could smell this all day. Give it a year in the cellar for the still-bitey tannins to integrate and this'll be off the charts. Second Last Bottle offering to really deliver vs. none from other similar services (pay attention, WineAccess). (1389 views)
Tasted by JOJ on 4/26/2013 & rated 91 points: Aromas of black cherry intermingle with flint, smoke, pine needle and underbrush. Became almost musky with some air. On the palate, black cherry and wild berry flavor, with spice box notes. Nicely tart and somewhat tannic. Everybody enjoyed this. (1163 views)
Tasted by rickspicks on 4/26/2013 & rated 93 points: Ripe, rich cherry and raspberry on the nose - fruits turn darker with some airtime. A bit of cola, earth and spice emerge on the palate - classic RRV. Great concentration, intensity and depth of fruit flavors. Very smooth and with a slightly lush texture. Medium +, fruity finish. Plenty of structure and very good grip balances out with all the ripe fruit. Lots of fruit flavor, great balance and a terrific texture combine to make this a truly outstanding wine. I started off with this as a solid 91 point wine in my mind and then quickly moved it to 92. Now, after 1 hour + I am at 93. Another terrific pinot noir from Inman and one of finest RRV pinots I have ever had. (1366 views)

Pinot Noir

Varietal character (Appellation America) | Varietal article (Wikipedia)
Pinot Noir is the Noble red grape of Burgundy, capable of ripening in a cooler climate, which Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot will not reliably do. It is unpredictable and difficult both to grow and to vinify, but results in some of the finest reds in the world. It is believed to have been selected from wild vines two thousand years ago. It is also used in the production of champagne. In fact, more Pinot Noir goes into Champagne than is used in all of the Cote d'Or! It is also grown in Alsace, Germany, the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Croatia, Serbia, Italy, Austria, and so forth, with varying degrees of success.

California is one of the most diverse wine regions in the world, with almost 100 grape varieties grown in over 100 viticultural areas, including dozens of different microclimates and soil types, as well as a very individualistic set of winemakers, many with international experience, which adds to and deepens that diversity.
