Community Tasting History

Community Tasting Notes (average 91.9 pts. and median of 92 pts. in 9 notes) - hiding notes with no text

Tasted by Wineallover on 7/19/2023 & rated 92 points: Still drinking really well, although passed its peak. This is “tertiary land” (still balanced by good acidity) and i like that. Opens up nicely with a bit of air and stays nice for 2 hours. Dead on second day with cooked fruits compote. Drink up! (141 views)
Tasted by MikeATL on 11/25/2016 & rated 91 points: Lovely older Syrah, with great tart acidic structure buffered by earthy brambly fruit. It broadened out well with air, and is drinking very well. (1076 views)
Tasted by rjonwine@gmail.com on 1/17/2014 & rated 91 points: Bricking black-tinged very dark red violet color; lifted, brett, tobacco nose; brett, tobacco, tar, pepper, mineral, anise palate; medium-plus finish (413 views)
Tasted by ggormezano on 5/20/2013 & rated 93 points: Drinking perfectly. (1898 views)
Tasted by NineteenEightyTwo on 2/24/2013 & rated 94 points: Light cranberry color, slightly cloudy. The nose starts out with a bright trumpet blast of tart cherry, followed by garrigue, rosemary and braised meats, with a final spearmint tang. The palate is principally sour fruit with a peppery coating, and a dry limestone finish. Mature, though with sufficient tannic structure to support perhaps another 5 years of optimal drinking. Still, no reason to wait too long, as this is showing wonderfully right now. (1996 views)
Tasted by plitton on 2/27/2006 & rated 92 points: Cyrano's Bistro/Sam's Wine & Spirits Cassoulet Dinner (Cyrano's Bistro, Chicago): This was the top wine tasted. Lots of layers of spice, hugely complex. Bacon in the finish. A really delicious wine. (4246 views)
Tasted by PhDP on 11/30/1998 & rated 90 points: sombre
sur la fraise, puissant et expressif
très onctueuse, très concentrée; tannins très doux
grande bouteille ! (3830 views)
