Community Tasting History

Community Tasting Notes (average 89.6 pts. and median of 90 pts. in 104 notes) - hiding notes with no text

Tasted by SimonG on 5/29/2023 & rated 91 points: Pale to mid straw. Expressive tropical fruit nose, ripe, some pineapple, quite complex.Similar on the attack, opening to a more classical mid palate and finish. Tightens after the expressive opening, the pineapple remaining and joined by lime and mineral notes. Mid length. Back on form, and as per a bottle three years ago after an overly advanced bottle a couple of years ago. **** (425 views)
Tasted by Hschmitz on 9/26/2021 & rated 90 points: holder stadig fin syre og eftersmag (982 views)
Tasted by SimonG on 4/5/2021 & rated 84 points: This bottle is ok, but a long way below previous ones as it’s just starting to show that slightly sickly sweetly poxy profile (though one can argue whether at ten years this is ox rather than pox). Ok for a glass, but the rest went in to the cooking. ** (1538 views)
Tasted by Wfly423 on 5/10/2020 & rated 70 points: Mother day at lee yu mun. Dry. Good aroma, not sweet (1458 views)
Tasted by SimonG on 3/14/2020 & rated 91 points: This has suddenly become a lot more expressive. A very tropical fruit nose, ripe, quite complex, but a more classical mid palate and finish. Really quite engaging and attractive even if it’s riper than expected/previously. Lovely. **** (1655 views)
Tasted by Cooky474 on 2/22/2020: Right on the edge of the drinking plateau and definitely not as good as it was back in 2018/2019. After a hour the nose developed a hint of raisins/sherry character. Unless this is an unusual bottle, drink up. (1472 views)
Tasted by SimonG on 10/4/2019 & rated 90 points: Pale gold. As previously. Excellent for what it is. ***1/2 (1561 views)
Tasted by Hschmitz on 9/2/2019 & rated 91 points: lækker drikkes nu (1321 views)
Tasted by SimonG on 5/13/2019 & rated 90 points: Pale to mid straw. A hint of mid palate richness before tightening to show a more mineral and lime-tinged wine. Consistently good. ***1/2 (1490 views)
Tasted by redwiner on 1/26/2019 & rated 93 points: Drinking superb right now. (1493 views)
Tasted by PeterFrancis on 12/22/2018 & rated 89 points: From magnum. Classic mineral/savoury notes on nose. Firm structure sustained through finish and very even. Like the Leflaive Bourgogne Blanc 2010 tasted recently as it should be. Not sure further aging needed and another magnum drunk recently was fading slightly (still good though). I suspect a comparative tasting of Leflaive 2010s would be very instructive if you like that sort of thing. (1395 views)
Tasted by SimonG on 4/17/2018 & rated 90 points: Consistent with previous bottles — showing well. Good balance of mineral line and hints of something richer. Holds well over theee days in the fridge. Lovely. ***1/2 (1882 views)
Tasted by maaike2 on 3/18/2018 & rated 91 points: This makes your evening good. Nuts, creamy, superb price-quality wine. (1798 views)
Tasted by SimonG on 1/26/2018 & rated 90 points: 2/12 Similar to previous bottle, just a fraction more evolved and riper. ***1/2 (1857 views)
Tasted by Cooky474 on 7/26/2017 & rated 90 points: Still very mineral for those that like that in their white Burgundies. Medium plus length. Very enjoyable and in a fantastic place at the moment. (2352 views)
Tasted by SimonG on 7/19/2017 & rated 90 points: 1/12 Pale straw, cut through with a tinge of green. Bright, positive attack with a good shape and really vibrant mineral cut and line. Very impressive — best vintage of this yet and punching well above its station. Super. ***1/2 to bare **** Holds well over three or four days as an aperitif. (2262 views)
Tasted by megropolis on 4/21/2017: Definitely better with age. I love my apples just slightly underripe so they maintain freshness and I love balance of acidity and fruit(green apple, pear, lemon) in this wine as it keeps it very fresh and gives wide appeal to match with reach foods. (2111 views)
Tasted by thomaskeil on 3/7/2017 & rated 92 points: Nose opens with lemon curd and slate. Floral and tropical fruit notes in the background. Seems both rounder and more focused on the palate than I remember. Nice mineral/acid and lasting fruit. Despite modest origin, I now think these are better with age. (2182 views)
Tasted by Hschmitz on 2/11/2017 & rated 92 points: super lækker nu (2151 views)
Tasted by GuWin on 7/8/2016 & rated 89 points: Sommersmaking i Sandefjord del I / Norwegian summer night - BYO (Sandefjord): Tørket sitrusskall og gule plommer på duft. Småfet i anslaget med middels fylde og frukt, en anelse overvekt på syresiden. Avslutter noe kort (2897 views)
Tasted by AudunG on 4/17/2016 & rated 88 points: Aromatic, with exotic fruits. Soft and round, delicate and elegant. Easygoing and attractive wine. (2192 views)
Tasted by ttholst on 12/3/2015 & rated 90 points: Fet rieslingaktig duft av sitrus, rødt eple, clementin, aprikos, banan og flintrøyk. Lett modnet gul fruktsmak med eple, honningmmelon, clementin og pære. Snev av noe mineralsk. Nærmest oljete munnfølelse med moden frukt og litt slapp syre i starten. Syre kommer i midtpartiet og varer helt ut. (Coravin) (2851 views)
Tasted by rlove on 8/30/2015 & rated 90 points: Straw. Reductive, and then with air a nose of lemon curd, honey, and crushed rock. Lemon and nervy minerality in the mouth. Creamy texture. Refreshing acidity. Made from five parcels in Verzé, this is a delightful Mâconnais. Drink now through 2018. (2981 views)
Tasted by Sunny10 on 8/12/2015 & rated 87 points: smells lemon peel, almond, however way too high acidity, almost sour... (3028 views)
Tasted by megropolis on 8/11/2015 & rated 90 points: Clean, intense, pure, somewhat one dimensional with citrus and green apple dominating. (2630 views)

Burgundy

Les vins de Bourgogne (Bureau interprofessionnel des vins de Bourgogne) (and in English)

Burgundy - The province of eastern France, famous for its red wines produced from Pinot Noir and its whites produced from Chardonnay. (Small of amounts of Gamay and Aligoté are still grown, although these have to be labeled differently.) The most famous part of the region is known as the Cote d'Or (the Golden Slope). It is divided into the Cote de Beaune, south of the town of Beaune (famous principally for its whites), and the Cote de Nuits, North of Beaune (home of the most famous reds). In addition, the Cote Chalonnaise and the Maconnais are important wine growing regions, although historically a clear level (or more) below the Cote d'Or. Also included by some are the regions of Chablis and Auxerrois, farther north.

# 2013 Vintage Notes:
* "2013 is a vintage that 20 years ago would have been a disaster." - Will Lyons
* "low yields and highly variable reds, much better whites." - Bill Nanson
* "Virtually all wines were chaptalised, with a bit of sugar added before fermentation to increase the final alcohol level." - Jancis Robinson

# 2014 Vintage Notes:
"We have not had such splendid harvest weather for many years. This will ensure high quality (fragrant, classy and succulent are words already being used) across the board, up and down the hierarchy and well as consistently from south to north geographically apart from those vineyards ravaged by the hail at the end of June." - Clive Coates

# 2015 Vintage Notes:
"Low yields and warm weather allowed for ample ripeness, small berries and an early harvest. Quality is looking extremely fine, with some people whispering comparisons with the outstanding 2005 vintage. Acid levels in individual wines may be crucial." - Jancis Robinson

# 2017 Vintage Notes:
"Chablis suffered greatly from frost in 2017, resulting in very reduced volumes. As ever, the irony seems to be that what remains is very good quality, as it is in the Côte d’Or. Cooler nights across the region have resulted in higher-than-usual acidity, with good conditions throughout the harvest season allowing for ripe, healthy fruit." - Jancis Robinson

# 2018 Vintage Notes:
"The most successful region for red Burgundy in 2018 was the Côte de Beaune. The weather was ideal in this area, with just enough sunlight and rain to produce perfectly balanced wines naturally." - Vinfolio
