Do not even consider repurchasing. I should have known better when I saw 16% abv. (2176 views) | | Tasted by Iam Redwood on 6/20/2015 & rated 89 points: - Garnet color. (1835 views) | | Tasted by Iam Redwood on 6/20/2015 & rated 89 points: - Ruby color and has flavours of tobacco and black currant - Quite nice. Tinge of berry fruit (1877 views) | | Tasted by ucbeau on 5/3/2013: Purple drank. Lots of ripe black fruit, garrigue, pepper, and wood all working together in this wine. It's got a lot of body and structure to act as a foil for the ripeness, which to me made this wine that much more impressive. For an inexpensive Cotes du Rhone, there is more depth than one would expect. The finish is great too, spices and tobacco lead the way, gently tapering off after almost a minute. (3569 views) | | Tasted by AWBryce on 2/13/2013 & rated 89 points: Blueberry and cherry on the nose with hints of oak. This is a very fruit-forward wine, that is medium-full bodied, and has mouth-coating fine grained tannin. A tart cherry finish with some earthiness, and over considerable time, revealed a trace of mint. This is decently balanced, but could use some time for the tannin to mellow out. (3337 views) | | Tasted by creno on 1/19/2013 & rated 87 points: The wine looks Purple colored. The legs are Medium. It smells like Blackberry, Cherry, Prune, Dust, Black Pepper, and Stoniness. It tastes like Blackberry, Prune, Cherry, Dust, and Mineral. The body is Medium/Full. The wine has Leathery texture. The wine finishes Medium. (2231 views) | | Tasted by lumpyelbow on 11/29/2012 & rated 91 points: First Rhone in a bit. Wads of dark fruit on the nose, obviously Rhone. Fruitcake and a syrupy bit of peppermint. Unctuous with quite a wall of tannin behind the gobs of fruit. Serious. Really good and worth having some around and will get better but not forever. (2396 views) | | Tasted by Ryan D on 11/15/2012: Powerful, alcoholic wine. Red and dark berries. Dark chocolate. Balancing acidity. Youthful tannins. While the alcohol is noticably high, it feels more like 14.5% than 16%. Overall, quite a nicely structured wine that would benefit from 2-3 years of further aging. (1416 views) | | Tasted by Rhonez on 4/15/2012 & rated 87 points: Extremely intense full bodied southern Rhône. Tannins are trying to balance the very strong alcoholic burning sensations in the mouth. This is an only partly succesful endeavor. This wine really needs oxygen, and once it get it, beautiful tastes og red berries emerge. (2718 views) |

| Red Rhone Blend Read about the different grapes used to produce red and white Rhone wines On CellarTracker, Red Rhone Blend is the term for a wine consisting of two or more of the traditional 13 Southern Rhone grape varieties. Typically it's the Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre or Cinsault grapes, but can also contain the Muscardin, Counoise, Clairette, Bourboulenc, Picpoul, Roussanne, Terret Noir, Picardan or Vaccarese grapes.
A 'food' wine. Lacking pretension and intended for local consumption with local cuisine. Lacks the 'high' notes on a Bordeaux, more earthy and sharper so often a better partner to meat dishes with a sauce.
