Tasted by M.Batard on 4/13/2015 & rated 89 points: Half bottle from the wine list at Tewksbury Inn. Somewhat muted nose of florals and stone fruit, but great acidity structure. Good paired against grilled asparagus w/prosciutto, and with roasted scallops. Not as memorable as the 2010, but welcome nonetheless. (756 views)
Tasted by brigcampbell on 4/12/2015: Light yellow color. I'm getting lots of lime, good stuff, on the nose and palate. Medium acidity, not the razor sharp I really like but balanced. A hint of rind and anise too. Super stuff for the price. (642 views)
Tasted by pjaines on 1/19/2015: Beautiful frame of acidity and structure off of which hangs beautiful fruit with candied apples, a touch of marzipan and chiselled minerals. Elegant and opens up in the glass beautifully after an hour. Will age for years, but actually a beauty right now. (1297 views)
Tasted by khmark7 on 11/8/2014: Opened and NO aromatics at all....very muted. Fail.... (2008 views)
Tasted by Frank Murray III on 10/26/2014: Opened yesterday, no decant. The acidity is present, mixing against lime, nectarine, mango, honey and a some drying astringence into the finish. Plenty of flavor intensity, no shortage of that but the wine still comes off a bit rough, lacks some delineation. Perhaps when that astringence softens out, it will all come together so for now, lots of raw material here. (2354 views)
Tasted by Dale M on 9/25/2014 & rated 90 points: I continue to be impressed with the 11 Le Mont and this LhL sec wine. Drank over two days, this displays a wonderfully pure palate, full of Chenin Blanc Granny Smith Apple and with the ever so slight suggestion of honey and soil. Plenty of supporting acidity, lots of verve, and well, just a great wine for $23 at Total Wine last summer. Should hold for many years to come. (2240 views)
Tasted by AV2012 on 9/7/2014 & rated 87 points: Distinctly smoky, exotic fruits and some herbal nuance on the nose. Quite high acidity, herbality that reminds me of Sauvignon blanc, but in contrast to a SB it is medium-full bodied, also some white stonefruit on the palate. Good. (2350 views)
Tasted by lolo66 on 9/4/2014: nice acidic spine with pure bright fruit, but all of it seems to be on the lighter side and a mere shadow of what this might be in a better vintage. (2039 views)
Tasted by brooklynguy on 8/22/2014: I don't know how I feel about this. Day one was disturbing to me in that the wine was muted, clipped, and in a way that extends beyond what I would expect based on the difficult vintage. Day 2 was better, and the piercing aromas and length that are typical of Huet's wines showed themselves. But this is not a great sec Haut-Lieu, I don't think. (2593 views)
Tasted by FarmerKeith LA/VA on 8/22/2014 & rated 91 points: I found it delightful. Solid structure , nice fruit / acidity balance , nose , finish, just lovely. Will try to get more. I read that chinese had bought the winery, in 2012, and the winemaker left. The new owners have been trying to keep out wine press, from the resulting reviews. (1615 views)
Tasted by EMark on 8/6/2014: Very interesting somewhat woody nose, but with some peach/melon scents. On the tongue I can, again, get peach or cantaloupe flavors. Good acid structure—while there is some tartness, it is not enough to chase away anybody who is tart averse—makes it quite refreshing. Maybe I’m showing my inexperience, but, if I did not know better—e.g., I had not seen the label—I would have guessed that this was an Italian wine. (1611 views)
Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 8/5/2014: Creamy and delicious. (1683 views)
Tasted by tbriggs on 7/14/2014: Lemon and floral/grass on the nose, high acid mineral mouth. I don't know why, but for some reason I had low expectations for this wine. I was very pleasantly surprised. Rebuy:yes. (1614 views)
Tasted by gilrbo on 6/26/2014: Light golden, clear.
Mineral, with a herbal touch. After time in the glass some fruit emerges. Vinous.
On day two some apple notes.
High acidity, but quite rich too. Very mineral, but with a continuous lemony note in the background. Quite fine. (1597 views)
Tasted by Frank Murray III on 5/1/2014: Poured blind, 3 hours of air and served at the correct temperature. Boy, this showed so well. Lots of lemon peel-like aromas and flavors along with lime skin. Then the chenin comes into play, with green apple, peach stone fruit, honey edges and a lean, racy finish. This bottle helped me recall how much I enjoy this cuvee and in 2011, I still believe the Lieu is the best of the Secs. Drinking great, will live a long time. (2232 views)
Tasted by brigcampbell on 5/1/2014: Book Club (Playground - Santa Ana, CA): Blind. Guessed Sancerre. I need to taste more Chenin, this is delicious. Difficult to get a color read here in the restaurant but looks like a green fresh straw color. Perfume and tart fruit rind aromas. Lemon rind on full force with a splash of Granny Smith green apple. The rind note carries through the finish which is very long. Excellent acid and mineral balance. Load up in this one. (2274 views)
Tasted by RayOB on 4/2/2014 & rated 88 points: Drank in Tate
Nice fruit / acid balance, quite dry with a lot of petrol in the nose. (2065 views)
Tasted by bevetroppo on 3/23/2014 & rated 89 points: I've been drinking a lot of "edgy" Loire wines lately, both white and red, and I have to admit it's nice to come back to something that just flat out delivers on expectations. On a lot of these other bottles, there's no way to know what to expect, because the labels are completely inscrutable. Grolleau anyone? The last one was nicknamed Adonis, a presumed spoonerism of Pineau d'Aunis, which could just as easily been called Pain in My Anus.

Here there's no need for second guessing. Gold color, rich heady nose of petrol and green gage plums, full-bodied, almost lush, viscous texture with petrol, ripe orchard fruits, chalk in the mid-palate, and a satisfyingly acid-defined finish that prevents any hint of flab. In short, a predictably delicious Vouvray. Not every bottle of wine needs to be a game of Survivor. (2323 views)
Tasted by admid on 3/22/2014 & rated 91 points: Tasted at VINOSUS, Oslo, 18/3-14

Ap: Straw yellow
Ar: Tropical fruits, apple and honey. Rather good intensity.
Medium bodied , concentrated and fresh, good acidity.

Very good wine, but in another league compared to the demi-sec' (1585 views)
Tasted by kosmik on 3/22/2014 & rated 90 points: Superbe évolution depuis la dernière fois.

Tasted by geeky? not sure on 2/2/2014: Good, but not a knockout. (2016 views)
Tasted by eluebchow on 1/13/2014 & rated 90 points: This young Huet has flavors of lemon and grapefruit with crisp, bracing acidity on the finish; Not as complex as some Huet Vouvrays, but still very pleasant to drink (2208 views)
Tasted by df1962 on 12/25/2013 & rated 92 points: PnP. Vibrant straw yellow. Lanolin floral honey dew melon dried pineapple and green bean aromas. Medium weight with an initially viscous texture that the acid rips away beautifully. Flavours echo the aroma. Big and sleek at the same time. If this is an off vintage I am eager to try an on year. Totally justified exception To my rule not to pay more than $US20 for a bottle of white wine. Looking forward to finishing off the rest of the bottle tomorrow. (2012 views)
Tasted by henryd1 on 12/11/2013 & rated 89 points: Organic. Lovely nose of lilies and beeswax. The palate has lilies, beeswax, grass, honey, and lime. Nice balance with some great flavours though a bit lacking in depth and mystique. (2292 views)
 Tasted by kosmik on 11/15/2013 & rated 88 points: 13% d'alcool, 100% Chenin Blanc

Winedoctor, February 2012
(Domaine Huet Vouvray Le Haut Lieu Sec) Residual sugar 7 g/l, acidity 5.57 g/l, alcohol 13%. An attractive and floral nose here. This seems to be in a very classic, clean and expressive style, although it should be noted that this is still in the very primary stage, showing varietal, floral-pear fruit. The palate is very attractive, gentle, restrained, not overly exuberant and with what feels like a gentle acid backbone (although it has the higher acidity of the three sec cuvées). An attractive but easy-going style.  16 points
