Tasted by klezman on 6/8/2018: This was excellent. 10-ish years seems to be a nice window for this wine. Lots of bread/yeasty components to go along with the apple and citrus flavours with the occasional hint of redder fruits. (2404 views)
Tasted by ABOVETHEINFLUENCE on 9/6/2016: 9 years on holding well, excellent cork and almond paste orange zest notes throughtout, accented by briny lemon rind (2246 views)
Tasted by ABOVETHEINFLUENCE on 4/15/2016: toasty nose even some brown sugar, after time the palates drier with lots of red fruit nuances label reads 75 pinot noir 25 chardonnay 4 years on lees 1k cases the bead is quite subdued at this age (2488 views)
Tasted by Martin Redmond on 12/6/2015 & rated 90 points: Very pale yellow with abundant stream of tiny bubbles with roast hazel nut, pear mixed citrus, spice aromas, and a hint of wet stone aromas .On the palate it shows a cream mousse with pear, raspberry, mandarin orange, lemon, and a kiss of spice aromas with an appealing vein of minerality . Long finish. (2967 views)
Tasted by brentkoehler on 5/30/2015 & rated 90 points: Mellowed with age. Pleasing floral notes to the nose. Smooth and tasty. (3073 views)
Tasted by Ecb1456 on 4/29/2015 & rated 88 points: Fading quickly. A lot of the bite is gone. Apple flavor no longer crisp and getting a little soft. Yeast components are still present but turning slightly bitter in its old age. Still a decent bubbly but a little like a great boxer past its prime it is getting a little soft around the middle. Drink now. (1927 views)
Tasted by Ecb1456 on 4/9/2015 & rated 87 points: Slightly past its prime and not the greatest of vintages from these guys. Light lemon and yeast to the nose. Bright green apples up front with a slightly burnt caramel touch. Not bad but this brut is usually a lot more interesting. Stood up well to meatloaf. (1094 views)
Tasted by North316 on 1/2/2014 & rated 87 points: Nice solid sparkler. Dry, crisp, with nice pear and citrus notes (1685 views)
Tasted by agorman on 12/22/2013 & rated 90 points: Very pale lemony color with small, moderate bubbles. Dry, light and easy to drink. We had it with mild, tasty soft cheeses (hostess didn't remember names), but my sense is that it would pair well with many foods. Refreshing minerality, smooth. This is not one of the toasty, creamy sparklers Donna prefers, but it remains one of our favorites. (1231 views)
Tasted by thelostverse on 6/7/2013 & rated 91 points: Very effervescent and fine mousse. Almost a rose profile (although almost clear in color) with raspberry and ginger notes with a touch of spice. (1518 views)
Tasted by galewskj on 12/9/2012 & rated 88 points: A very good traditional effort for a California sparkler. A lively palate with good acidity, fresh apple and a little yeast. A bit simple, but nice. (1932 views)
Tasted by rocknroller on 12/8/2012 & rated 88 points: Holiday Party (Gail and Steph's, Mpls, MN): Pale gold color. Drank 1 glass. Very pure green apple notes on the nose, perhaps some kumquat, hints of white blossums, very tiny bubbles. The palate is light, lively, apple, peach, floral, good acids. Well made and very enjoyable. (2226 views)
Tasted by vin0vin0 on 10/7/2012 & rated 90 points: Excellent sparkly from one of my favorites in Russian River. Dry, crisp, acidic with bright fruit, slight touch of pink grapefruit and a great finish. (1642 views)
Tasted by bzell on 8/11/2012 & rated 85 points: Very light in color with crisp clean minerals. Easy to drink. (1639 views)
Tasted by bbakove on 4/21/2012 & rated 88 points: Palest yellow color, light yeast on the nose and palate, well balanced with crisp acidity, this sparkler always pleases! (1701 views)
Tasted by Jokermac on 4/1/2012 & rated 83 points: Think 7-up infused with pear. (1445 views)

Champagne Blend

"Champagne blend" is a classic grape blend that typically includes Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and/or Pinot Meunier in any proportions.

However, this blend can also include Arbane, Fromenteau (Pinot Gris), Petit Meslier and/or Pinot Blanc as well.

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

California

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
