Community Tasting Notes (average 86.5 pts. and median of 87 pts. in 38 notes) - hiding notes with no text

Tasted by wineaficionado on 5/12/2017 & rated 87 points: Old tasting note. Fresh candy ("Nordpolzeltli"), citrus, lime blossom, a hint of honey. Slightly viscous. (1744 views)
Tasted by ManuKey on 7/27/2014 & rated 85 points: De couleur jaune intense aux reflets verdâtres. Sur les fruits tropicaux, touche de miel. Légère impression de sucrosité. Alcool perceptible (14%). Moins bonne que la première bouteille que j'ai bu, mais tout de même acceptable. (3585 views)
Tasted by baseballvino on 3/19/2014 & rated 86 points: Colors right, oily and just barely off-dry. Fruit muted. Lemon and little minerals. Nothing objectionable but nothing really note-worthy. Maybe a touch watery. (3997 views)
Tasted by dsamuel on 10/16/2013 & rated 90 points: Medium gold color. Complex aromas of apple/ floral with woody undertones and typical salinity. Classic oily mouthfeel of Vermentino with touch of sweetness. Classic Vermentino, probably not for everyone, but I personally love this. (4855 views)
Tasted by ManuKey on 9/21/2013 & rated 88 points: De couleur jaune maïs. (4857 views)
Tasted by Xavier Auerbach on 7/11/2013 & rated 87 points: Very similar to the 2012 tasted the day before yesterday. If anything slightly more weight (14% ABV) and ripeness; I do love that interplay of flowers, citrus minerals and ripe fruit. (4616 views)
Tasted by footloosiety on 7/7/2013 & rated 84 points: An interesting white from the Italian Vermentino grape. Never had anything like it before - other detailed CT reviews got it spot-on. Some effervescence at the start which quickly fades. Flavor starts very acidic, then ends on a sweet note. (3039 views)
Tasted by walkerjfw on 6/20/2013 & rated 87 points: Had the 2012 version of this wine and found it to be enjoyable and fresh, especially for the price. Served at Meredith's graduation party, good for a crowd pleasing wine or everyday drinking.

Light straw color, mineral and citrus nose. Melon, kiwi, grapefruit, citrus. Crisp minerality, medium finish. I paid $11 for this wine, for that price, decent flavor, what's not to like. Keeps my guests drinking and away from the more expensive wines... (2593 views)
Tasted by SiR on 5/20/2013 & rated 85 points: 14.0% - Even though it seemed sligthtly less aromatic (cantaloup and honeydew notes only) than the last bottle, it remains a good week day wine and scores on the pleasure/price scale. This is the kind of wine that has everything to gain by being paired with shellfish or delicate fish dishes rather than drinking on its own. (2467 views)
Tasted by Melster10 on 4/24/2013 & rated 87 points: Tastes like spring, liked the slight effervescence, initially concerned with the cloudiness when I
poured it. (2394 views)
Tasted by pbarnet on 4/6/2013 & rated 72 points: I have never rated a wine lower. This was straw light in color with a honey - melon nose. Initial taste is sweet and sour, almost bitter. Unpleasant, then the light effervescence carries you through the middle with almost no taste to a light sting ending that left you with the feeling that the wine needed to breathe and open up but it never changed, never got interesting. Overall too sweet, then flat. I've had better wines at half the price. (2440 views)
Tasted by bin905 on 4/4/2013 & rated 86 points: It has a ight straw color and correspondingly light body. The palate begins with sweet melon, kiwi and lychee flavors and finishes with an emphasis on the grapefruit flavor. There is a fruit flavored rum or vodka type note that detracts from the overall appeal. (1899 views)
Tasted by SiR on 3/30/2013 & rated 87 points: 14.0% - Clear, med+ straw / clean, med intensity - cantaloup, orange blossom, candied peaches, mineral / dry, low acidity, med body, a little effervescent but round in texture, med to short length - all in balance. Well suited with fettucine alla vongole. (2052 views)
Tasted by thwacker on 2/20/2013 & rated 85 points: Crisp, well-focused wine but a slight hint of sweetness that reduces the attractiveness for me, but all in all, this is a well-made wine. (1992 views)
Tasted by peternelson on 1/23/2013 & rated 88 points: Blind at home: Crisp, floral with citrus blossom, lemon-thyme, light orange note, slight tingly spritz going on; good fruit and mineral blend and medium depth. Slightly medium plus body; much better than the Prelius from Toscana. (2044 views)
Tasted by chitowncdpguy on 12/19/2012: Nice wine. This is the only Vermentino I can find around here. Year-in and year-out it's nice, much the same from vintage to vintage.

Tonight a little fizzy, not as minerally as usual, but chalk minerality, white fruits. Very nice. (2099 views)
Tasted by ErikMercier on 11/29/2012 & rated 86 points: In the glass the wine is slightly straw colored with green flecks; it has a mossy note I've never seen before. Lemongrass, cantaloup, gooseberry, cactus flesh, lavender and lemonade all come through on the nose. The palate is soft and viscous; I felt like it needed a touch more acid. Notes of soap bubbles, tarragon, candied orange and baked pear come to the surface for an extremely interesting finish. (2236 views)
Tasted by kenito799 on 10/12/2012 & rated 87 points: Bright very aromatic, lemon custard with almonds in the finish, also melon and a bit of grapefruit. Very succulent and flavorful. Very good value. (2464 views)
Tasted by Giacomo on 10/7/2012 & rated 88 points: Very nice, refreshing, lemon, floral qualities, buy again (2313 views)
Tasted by Asani on 9/15/2012: Bright acidic taste. Lemon green color. Intensely fruity. Goes well with white meat and strong fish. (2430 views)
Tasted by A&s on 9/9/2012 & rated 89 points: Light great summer with some sparkle. (2299 views)
Tasted by rbradleypate on 7/31/2012 & rated 85 points: Light and crisp. Flat nose but juicy and fruity on the palate. Paired well with shellfish (crab legs). (2393 views)
Tasted by peternelson on 7/26/2012 & rated 88 points: Lemon and orange peel with a slight heady floral note and just that touch of Italian saltiness; mouth is a bit round, lush up front with medium acidity in the back with a tangy citrus zest finish. Solid Vermentino. No brainer with fried calamari. (1848 views)
Tasted by defnefferson on 7/22/2012 & rated 89 points: Lemon, a little tropical fruit, and a hint of apple. Really racy acidity and an almost spritzy finish. Good stuff. (2325 views)
Tasted by Benbronstein on 6/21/2012 & rated 89 points: Seabreezey slightly bitter balanced acid, nice tropical melody aroma (2490 views)
