Tasted by Uglypinga on 12/13/2014 & rated 93 points: Dusty fruit. A little chocolate. The palate is full and mouth coating with beef, baking spices and solid tannins. Delicious but young. (748 views)
Tasted by tcosgriff on 10/15/2014 & rated 95 points: Deep purple color with a bouquet and flavor of sweet oak and fruit, although not cassis. Very good balance with a silky feel in the mouth, despite being a big wine. Considerable finesse with a nice finish. This is a keeper. You will look a long time to find a Bordeaux of this quality, and will pay dearly for it. (630 views)
Tasted by bmartz1 on 9/19/2014 & rated 93 points: If you like fruit and lush mouthfeel, this is right up your alley. I normally like a bit more tannin and oak, but this still hits the spot. Luxurious wine that punches above its price point. (910 views)
Tasted by cellarpalate on 8/22/2014 & rated 94 points: A fantastic wine. PnP over a couple of hours. Opens up to deep, rich fruits, dark chocolate, smooth as silk, lasting finish. A shame the price has gone to $200 because this was incredible in the $80 range. (936 views)
Tasted by Anonymous on 3/8/2014 & rated 92 points: This was big, in your face hedonistic cab. A bit syrupy but surely a fun wine to drink. Has a ton of time left on it. (1669 views)
Tasted by sjdcellar on 2/14/2014 & rated 95 points: absolutely seamless - had with a big steak and it was the perfect offset. calm tannin, no edges, a bit of mocha and mint on the nose. excellent! (1133 views)
Tasted by JimN on 1/13/2014 & rated 93 points: Right up there with other Hundred Acre Cabs, at a much lower price point. Rich and silky with distinct mocha on the nose. Needs a good decant. At least a decade ahead of it, but drinking nicely now. (978 views)
Tasted by PSUSteve on 1/13/2014: Decanted for around an hour. I think it could have used more. My initial reaction was wow is this thick and dense. Dark fruit hits you. 91-92 on this night but with much more potential with age and/or air. (1152 views)
Tasted by Dvsdude on 12/24/2013 & rated 95 points: Beautiful, restrained Cab featuring blue and black fruit with a hint of menthol on the nose, dark fruits on the palate. Well integrated silky tannins with a long finish. I felt very fortunate to drink my first ever Fortunate Son! (933 views)
Tasted by marlons34 on 12/14/2013 & rated 95 points: Wonderful nose, silky smooth, yet super complex. Long wonderful finish.........WOW! (655 views)
Tasted by timdrex on 3/25/2013 & rated 95 points: Superb. Still a little young. Excellent structure that should hold up for another decade. (1913 views)
Tasted by cellarpalate on 3/20/2013 & rated 93 points: Excellent. Wonderful dark fruits, complexity, balance, and finish. Young but still excellent. (1524 views)
Tasted by CK6865 on 3/9/2013 & rated 93 points: popped and poured drank along side hundred acre 2005 arc ,nice wine but not near as good as the hundred acre overall nice wine with a decent finish (1573 views)
Tasted by elamasters on 3/8/2013 & rated 93 points: This was really good. The nose is full of black cherry and marzipan. Very fresh and lively on the palate with lots of black cherry. Velvety texture with a long finish. (1485 views)
Tasted by WVWine on 3/3/2013 & rated 96 points: Awesome wine. Big smells and tastes. Juicy raspberry upon opening. Evolved into leather, licorice, and spice box smells over two hours. Long finish. Went perfect with a simple grilled filet. (876 views)

California Wines (Wine Institute of California)

California is one of the most diverse wine regions in the world, with almost 100 grape varieties grown in over 100 viticultural areas, including dozens of different microclimates and soil types, as well as a very individualistic set of winemakers, many with international experience, which adds to and deepens that diversity.
