 Tasted by Ibetian on 2/7/2015 & rated 90 points: Each bottle of this wine seems to be better than the one before. P said "cherries" on first sniff. Bright red fruit on the nose and palate. Medium to light bodied, very food friendly. Very good value. (639 views)
 Tasted by essconsults on 11/22/2014 & rated 91 points: This has a really pretty, almost profound, red-fruity profile with a bit of both a Volnay violets, perfume, and Gevrey-earth type profile. As AM said, this might give some 1er crus a run for their money. This bottle seemed quite hot on the first and third night open-this is the fourth-and it's finally settled down. Very impressive, and much more serious than the other Marsannays I've tried. Will the Favieres be as good eventually? (820 views)

After about an hour and a half, on the last few sips, it really started opening up with a lovely perfume. Excellent for its level, and a terrific value. (1345 views)

 Tasted by BurgAndy on 4/17/2013: While young, this was quite striking. A wonderful raspberry and blackberry nose with hints of rock and earth. The palate is streamlined and focused, with flavors of tight dark fruit, tart plum, and stone. A touch of youthful austerity is certainly present. For such a gulpable wine, it has a layer of complexity to it that is intriguing and enjoyable. This will clearly get better with time, but it is fun to drink now. Some Marsannay can be too ripe and jammy -- this is certainly not the case with this wine. A great '10, especially for its level. (1501 views)

 Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 2/8/2013: Now this, to me, had an utterly striking, pronouced perfume that i just kept going back to and smelling all night. the "lighter" and to me the silkier of teh two that i was trying -- the other being Favieres from the same producer. I favored this one, AW sligthly favors the other. Great QPR. (1700 views)
 Tasted by Robert Pavlovich on 1/5/2013: Definitely can see why Marsannay benefits from warmer years, because this 2010 didn't seem very ripe even in a relatively warm year. For that reason I didn't find it very enjoyable tonight though the nose was rather pleasant with tart red fruits, brush, and citrus notes. Will hold on to my other bottle for a few years and hope for a better showing. 85-88 points if scoring today. (1564 views)

This vibrant effort is impeccably well-balanced and the quality could easily give even a very fine premier cru a run for its money."

I found my experienceclosely parelled his bu twith more fruit& acid on the palateon the palate. I think with a bit of cellaring the expression will become more beautiful andin line with his description! Kudos to Charles Audoin. (1208 views)

Pinot Noir

Pinot Noir is the Noble red grape of Burgundy, capable of ripening in a cooler climate, which Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot will not reliably do. It is unpredictable and difficult both to grow and to vinify, but results in some of the finest reds in the world. It is believed to have been selected from wild vines two thousand years ago. It is also used in the production of champagne. In fact, more Pinot Noir goes into Champagne than is used in all of the Cote d'Or! It is also grown in Alsace, Germany, the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Croatia, Serbia, Italy, Austria, and so forth, with varying degrees of success.

Burgundy - The province of eastern France, famous for its red wines produced from Pinot Noir and its whites produced from Chardonnay. (Small of amounts of Gamay and Aligoté are still grown, although these have to be labeled differently.) The most famous part of the region is known as the Cote d'Or (the Golden Slope). It is divided into the Cote de Beaune, south of the town of Beaune (famous principally for its whites), and the Cote de Nuits, North of Beaune (home of the most famous reds). In addition, the Cote Chalonnaise and the Maconnais are important wine growing regions, although historically a clear level (or more) below the Cote d'Or. Also included by some are the regions of Chablis and Auxerrois, farther north.
