Tasted by whudock on 11/5/2014 & rated 89 points: good cherry and red raspberry fruit, well integrated tannin, nice nose. Good QPR. Holds up well compared to most Rhones (486 views)
Tasted by CieloVista on 6/4/2014 & rated 88 points: Bold flavors and spicy.....good long finish. (734 views)
Tasted by hamiltoncd on 2/18/2014 & rated 88 points: PnV. Initially disjointed. Drunk over 2 nights. Much better the second with better balance. Reasonable value. (993 views)
Tasted by Gcashman on 2/11/2014: Deep ruby color. Somewhat closed on the nose. Big fruit forward on the palate, with flavors of crushed red fruit and blueberries. Lingering finish. Maybe a little graphite. New world but decent acidity. Really nice value. (861 views)
Tasted by tenor12bucks on 12/6/2013 & rated 90 points: QPR star. Fruit forward, ripe, nice concentration, plenty of structure to reward cellaring. A little barnyard, and a touch of dustiness and salinity - a lot of terroir. I treat this as an Italian wine at heart, masquerading as a California blend. It works really well with hearty red-sauce Italian-American food (veal parm in particular). (951 views)
Tasted by whudock on 11/30/2013 & rated 89 points: good fruit, spice and depth with nice length of finish. Excellent QPR (774 views)
Tasted by Tony Poli on 9/24/2013 & rated 89 points: Never disappoints. (799 views)
Tasted by d&lwine on 6/13/2013 & rated 90 points: Still good 6 months later. Definitely ready to drink. (867 views)
Tasted by wineismylife on 5/9/2013 & rated 89 points: WIML89

Tasted non blind at a wine dinner.

Garnet to dark garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of blueberries, marjoram, a bit of earth and some pepper towards the end. Flavors of berries, raspberries and cherries. Tart acidity, medium to firm tannin, full bodied. Drink over the short term. (1071 views)
Tasted by Dinger's Dungon Collection on 2/18/2013 & rated 90 points: very good red at a GREAT PRICE (888 views)
Tasted by suburbanfrog on 2/3/2013 & rated 90 points: Had this bottle with a Seghesio San Lorenzo Zin and it held up nicely. A little lighter than the San Lorenzo, but I really like what the other grapes in this blend give this wine. A little more acid and ripe fruit and nice depth. Once again, this wine proved to be a great value. (839 views)
Tasted by Trade Mark (TM) on 12/26/2012 & rated 90 points: Bistro wine and more. Tightly wound and bitter at first opening. Needed 30+ minutes to start to open up. This reminds me of Vacqueryras but with more acidity. Shows wonderful dark and earthy flavors but the fruit is muted at this point. Needs a year or two to develop but the potential is there. (852 views)
Tasted by d&lwine on 12/20/2012 & rated 90 points: Dark purple. Lots of ripe, sweet dark berry nose. Earthy. Good balance and medium long finish for this price range. Great daily drinker (or better) and excellent value! (801 views)
Tasted by cliffo41 on 12/19/2012 & rated 91 points: Truly excellent value for the price. Robust, new world, fruit forward with lots of personality and a long finish. Opaque purple in the glass. Hints of dark fruit on the nose but pretty subdued. (721 views)
Tasted by suburbanfrog on 11/26/2012 & rated 91 points: Great QPR! Hard to find a better red at this price. (844 views)
Tasted by Tony Poli on 10/31/2012 & rated 89 points: Nice daily drinker. Definitely New World style, fruity with some body. Especially nice for the price. (981 views)

California Wines (Wine Institute of California)

California is one of the most diverse wine regions in the world, with almost 100 grape varieties grown in over 100 viticultural areas, including dozens of different microclimates and soil types, as well as a very individualistic set of winemakers, many with international experience, which adds to and deepens that diversity.
