Likely at its peak, and will now begin the steady slide into oblivion. (925 views) | | Tasted by ArizonaWineGuy on 7/3/2019 & rated 89 points: Cherry fruit bomb. Nothing subdued about this juice. (909 views) | | Tasted by ArizonaWineGuy on 7/4/2018 & rated 89 points: Delicious as always. (1299 views) | | Tasted by ArizonaWineGuy on 12/16/2017 & rated 91 points: Really big and drinking nicely right now, but will likely continue to evolve for another couple of years. But why wait? (1341 views) | | Tasted by ArizonaWineGuy on 9/16/2017 & rated 89 points: Consistent with my previous note, and despite what others have remarked, this wine is still a bit young and is going through a rather closed period right now. Still enjoyable and a nice glass of wine, but it needs another 6 to 12 months to reawaken. (1584 views) | | Tasted by ArizonaWineGuy on 3/26/2016 & rated 90 points: Deep, dark, purple/red color. Not a real big nose, but what there is expresses classic Cabernet fruit, with a slight hint of rich earth and cedar. Velvety mouthfeel on the attack, with tannins beginning with a soft expression and exploding into a voluminous attack on the palate. Rich fruit powers through, highlighted by black plums & blackberries, a hint of ripe blueberries, and a mellowing touch of cassis. There is a long and lingering finish, emerging through coffee and cocoa, rounding out with the warmth of the barnyard. A sophisticated, yet subdued at this point, wine that will continue to evolve nicely for another 2 to 4 years. Still a bit your my at this point. (1595 views) | | Tasted by tjshapiro1 on 11/29/2015: Wine was excellent Had 4 bottles for 2015 Thanksgiving (846 views) | | Tasted by Wink on 11/16/2015: This is my first taste of the 2009 Persistence. Year after year, this wine is an excellent red blend (Cab Sauv, Merlot, Cab Franc, Syrah, and Petite Verdot). Dark, nearly opaque garnet. Nose of cedar, bell pepper, blackberry, and vanilla. Ripe, silky palate of blackberry, currant, and plum. Superb length. Pleasant acidity. Soft tannins. Integrated oak. Drinking well now. (1363 views) | | Tasted by artgirlajb on 1/31/2014: Awesome wine. (2751 views) | | Tasted by wmccone54 on 10/29/2013 & rated 91 points: Winery tasting. Nice cabernet based red wine blend. Contains some Syrah in the blend along with some Merlot. Still primary with vanilla, dark berries , plum, and cherry. Very good (2738 views) | | Tasted by bestdamncab on 3/10/2013 & rated 90 points: Very tight nose with good dark fruit, more of the same on the palate, dark fruit underneath, dusty, earthy, rich and concentrated taste, nice medium finish. A new release. Probably better score with a year or two in the cellar. (2717 views) | | Only displaying the 25 most recent notes - click to see all notes for this wine... |

Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.California2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson Napa Valley Napa Valley Wineries and Wine (Napa Valley Vintners)Napa ValleySt. Helena |
