| Community Tasting Notes (average 90 pts. and median of 90 pts. in 57 notes) - hiding notes with no text | | Tasted by Ecb1456 on 12/21/2019: Completely done. Not bad but nothing of real interest left. (726 views) | | Tasted by Baron Slick on 12/8/2018 & rated 90 points: Nice showing. The bouquet opens to a lactic note that gives way to ripe apple, stone fruit, caramel, and a touch of autolytic complexity. The aromas carry over to the palate, where it’s met by a brisk bead, savory minerality, and bottle age vinosity. The dry finish is dry, mature, and a hint salty. (1002 views) | | Tasted by jerrysvino on 1/1/2018 & rated 89 points: Not over the hill but fruit mostly gone. Yeasty, nutty, some raisins in the bouquet. It held up well. (1239 views) | | Tasted by bboard on 12/17/2016: PnP - good amount of bubbles left. A bit of fruits that quickly transitional to yeasty / toasty / nutty profile, good intensity. We preferred that profile over purely fresh & fruity, thus this works very well for us. Last tasted summer 2013 at winery - this wait for worthwhile (1872 views) | | Tasted by TottenCellars on 6/5/2016: Still holding. Tiny bubbles but not many at this point. Fruit is there but a bit diminished. The nutty/yeasty character of the wine now dominates. Still tasty and worth a buy at a reduced price. (2336 views) | | Tasted by ecola on 7/16/2015 & rated 92 points: Deep earthy and nutty flavors. White fruit has faded to the background. Long and lingering finish. (2292 views) | | Tasted by td1836 on 3/2/2015 & rated 88 points: Strong aromas of yeast and soughdough bread. Upon first pouring, it was lively with good bubles, but they quickly went flat in the glass and it became tired tasting. Green apples, some lemon. (2069 views) | | Tasted by ecola on 1/28/2015 & rated 89 points: Clean and refreshing with bright citrus. (2087 views) | | Tasted by Rich S on 12/31/2014 & rated 90 points: Consistent with previous bottles. (1727 views) | | Tasted by nathanbsmith on 12/26/2014 & rated 90 points: Very nice sparkling on it's own and as a mimosa. (1393 views) | | Tasted by Rich S on 10/3/2014 & rated 91 points: Consistent with previous bottles. Paired great with an arugula salad with green apple and parm reg. (1099 views) | | Tasted by Martin Redmond on 6/14/2014 & rated 90 points: Very pale straw color with very active pin prick sized bubbles, and brioche, citrus zest, and a bit of hazelnut aromas. On the palate it sports a delicate mousse, explosive freshness, and tart apple, citrus, and ginger flavors, with an appealing minerality I've come to associate with Green Valley fruit. Lengthy satisfying finish (1354 views) | | Tasted by moodsm on 2/15/2014 & rated 91 points: Tasted back to back with 2006 (suspect cellaring) and the 2008 was much better. While the 2006 was all over the place without much definition, the 2008 was crisp and wonderful. (1353 views) | | Tasted by kaelynn on 1/5/2014 & rated 92 points: Green apple, vanilla, creamy and tart. Drank with Irish cheddar and crackers. (1621 views) | | Tasted by Rich S on 12/26/2013 & rated 91 points: Consistent with previous bottle. Great combination of yeasty bread notes and tart apple and citrus notes with good acidity and mouthfeel. Will rebuy. (1357 views) | | Tasted by kfenster on 11/23/2013: I liked it--crisp, clear, and not overly sweet. (1358 views) | | Tasted by Rich S on 11/2/2013 & rated 91 points: Consistent with previous bottle. Nose was primarily sourdough, yeast, green apple with some nice mineral notes. Very deep flavored and full bodied on the palate with citrus, apple and mineral driven flavors. Really like this a lot. Hard pressed to peg this as domestic sparkling wine. (1220 views) | | Tasted by HitAnyKey on 10/19/2013 & rated 91 points: Brought to a party and it was highly enjoyed by all who had some, as expected. Joy never disappoints with her bubbly. (1099 views) | | Tasted by Rich S on 10/3/2013 & rated 91 points: 72% pinot, 28% chardonnay. Nice nose of sourdough bread, yeast and green apple. Similar flavors on the palate with some citrus and mineral notes. Full bodied and a smooth finish. Very nice. (1058 views) | | Tasted by nathanbsmith on 8/25/2013 & rated 90 points: This sparkling wine consists of 72% Pinot Noir and 28% Chardonnay and did not disappoint. It was enjoyed by all at the start of our tasting and even after Reds were introduced. Great wine! (1120 views) | | Tasted by sully13 on 4/1/2013 & rated 90 points: Dry straw on the nose with a hint of stone fruit. Tiny smooth bubbles with a nice cheek clenching bite on the finish. (1225 views) | | Tasted by td1836 on 11/4/2012 & rated 90 points: 75% Pinot, 25% Chard. Great fruit and a sweet creaminess here. This is very nice and my favorite of the sparklings. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers.
