Tasted by Racer117 on 2/25/2018 & rated 90 points: A nice surprise. I was expecting a decent wine and I had a very nice wine. Full bodied but by no means a fruit bomb with prominent blackberry, cocoa, and cassis flavors and aromas. This is balanced and delicious. Very enjoyable on its own. (2034 views)
Tasted by Chucksw on 11/24/2016 & rated 92 points: Balanced tannins, blackberry, chocolate, long smooth finish (2188 views)
Tasted by ahwt on 10/29/2016 & rated 91 points: Very dark, concentrated earthy dark fruit flavors. Firm consistency with moderate lingering flavors. Good feel in the mouth of a heavy wine with good balance. Nose had a little spice with again the dark fruit background. (1952 views)
Tasted by Smudge4! on 7/4/2016 & rated 89 points: Medium blackberry fruit on nose and palate, touch of mint/eucalyptus. Silky tannins. Decanted for an hour and it was very good. Drinking well now but will last for a few more years. (1933 views)

Tasted by Swekman on 5/9/2015 & rated 86 points: This bottle has a nose of red jam, pencil lead, white pepper, and leather. The tannins are subtle and integrated. The finish lingers with a bit of hot alcohol on the palate. Decent. (1941 views)
Tasted by smileBD on 4/3/2015 & rated 87 points: Had a Passover with family. Very nice and enjoyable for the price. (1654 views)
Tasted by delewelyn on 3/31/2015 & rated 87 points: Long legs, good. (1482 views)
Tasted by Swekman on 10/17/2014 & rated 84 points: Strawberries, blackberries, black pepper, and cedar make up the nose of this cabernet. The wine has medium tannins that are decently integrated and the finish lingers with a bit of residual sugar and is otherwise unremarkable. There is almost too much sweetness on the finish for a cab. It is ok though and I rate it between 84 and 85, yet will stick with 84 because I think the finish is too sweet. My first bottle was so much better and I wonder if time has done this bottle a disservice. (2002 views)
Tasted by Swekman on 8/30/2014 & rated 91 points: Cherries, graphite, and black pepper make up the nose of this wine. It is very smooth with mild tannins. Very good. This wine is drinking great at this point. I am glad that I have two more bottles! (1887 views)

Tasted by Barolo Raymond on 6/9/2014 & rated 90 points: Deep ruby, dark slow moving viscous @14.5% abv. Medium aromas of blackberries, red cherries, ground coffee, dried leaves. Dry, medium acidity, medium(-) tannin, high alcohol and full body. Flavors of black cherries, blueberry jam, spice, bitter chocolate and graphite. Complex palate and pleasant chewy texture. Well balanced and during long smooth finish flavors keep evolving. Decant at least 60 min. A very good wine indeed. (1514 views)
Tasted by Baron Slick on 4/18/2014 & rated 90 points: Garnet appearance. Cassis, oak, chocolate, and smoke aromas. The palate is seriously balanced and integrated, showing good drive, smooth tannin, juicy, black currant fruit, a green olive element, and wisps of chocolate on the soft finish. This is well put together. (1175 views)
 Tasted by BigBoy_Sonoma on 4/13/2014 & rated 90 points: Decanted 2 1/2 hours

Tasted by BigBoy_Sonoma on 11/29/2013 & rated 90 points: Dark fruit, spice, hints of menthol, cassis, smokey oak. Lacks some complexity. Acidity is well balanced.

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

California

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
