Tasted by aagrawal on 9/16/2015 & rated 84 points: "Value" Burgundy WineBerserkers Tasting (Zazie's, San Francisco): Moderately aromatic, red fruit; palate is light bodied, high acid, thin midpalate; short finish. Good but not remarkable. 84-85 (2832 views)
Tasted by Tallhoyalawya on 2/19/2015: Very light bodied with taste of cherry. (2134 views)
Tasted by EhrlichDY on 8/4/2014 & rated 89 points: Another great showing. Again best on day two suggesting this wine will age for some time. Great freshness, lightly fruited, and seamless on the palate. I wish I had six more. (2423 views)
Tasted by tdelorme on 7/14/2014: Great QPR - showing very well, awesome QPR - revisit in 2015 - wish I had more.... (2501 views)
Tasted by tooch on 7/4/2014 & rated 91 points: One of the best Passetoutgrains I've had. Lots of energetic red fruits, earth, and floral notes throughout made this come across more like a wine of higher pedigree and class. (2784 views)
Tasted by Keith Levenberg on 6/25/2014 & rated 93 points: This is ridiculously better than it has any right to be. I would have had no problem believing this was a Morey 1er cru from a top vintage, as opposed to a lowly Passetoutgrains from a vintage on the express train to the closeout bin. It starts out as a typical Passetoutgrains in personality (although an exceptional Passetoutgrains in quality), combining some of the brightness and edgier tannin of gamay with the more restrained, refined proportions of pinot noir. The longer it sits the more the pinot side of its personality comes to the fore, and in addition to cutting a sophisticated feminine figure, the fruit is past the primary and into that satisfying stage where you just want to grab a book and an easy chair and sip this thing all night. (10444 views)
Tasted by indiscriminate palate on 5/25/2014: Tart cranberry, medium(-) acid, mild tannin. Fairly light, with tart red fruit and a bit of flowers. Yummy! Great QPR. (1554 views)
Tasted by salil on 5/25/2014: Great wine for an afternoon cookout. It's not particularly complex, but this is all about bright red fruit and refreshment. Very elegant and light, with a faint floral aspect to the fruit, and no greenness whatsoever. This one disappeared quickly. (2253 views)
Tasted by Beerzebub on 5/18/2014: Smells like dried flowers, mushroom/ forest floor, and touches of cherry, boysenberry and spice. Super bright on the palate - pomegranate, sour cherry, hibiscus, minerals, and touches of underlying savory mushroom and earth. Tons of acidity; exceedingly light and drinkable, but full of flavor. Delicious. (1631 views)
Tasted by Rob and Meg on 4/24/2014 & rated 87 points: Deliciously fresh, if a bit simple. Light bodied, with wonderful crystalline wild red berry fruit, lavender, and purple florals. Ripping berry acidity and chalky minerality makes this a great match for food. Drink or hold. (1684 views)
Tasted by salil on 4/16/2014 & rated 86 points: Not particularly complex, but a fun wine to sip on with pizza. Bright, rather high toned red fruit flavours - lots of cranberry and pomegranate - accented with faint herbal and floral notes, on a lightweight frame. (2084 views)
Tasted by tooch on 2/15/2014 & rated 88 points: I liked this a bit better than last time. A bit richer with very pretty floral, pomegranate, and cherry flavors. Some earthy notes woven throughout too were very nice. A really nice wine to sip. (1998 views)
Tasted by Ibetian on 2/4/2014 & rated 88 points: Thought this might be a red that paired well with cod and it did. Light weight. Nice ruby color. Red fruit nose. Tasty. I'll drink my last bottle in the next year or two. (1730 views)
Tasted by EhrlichDY on 1/6/2014 & rated 88 points: More pinot sappiness than gamay snappiness. Definitely no green. Popped and poured - took an hour to open up. Showed nicely on day two. Floral and perfume type aromas. Light red fruit. Beautiful effort and a great guiltless mid week drink with moderate complexity. Great value. Drink now. (1689 views)
Tasted by salil on 12/30/2013 & rated 87 points: No green here, just lots of bright, exuberant red berried fruit and floral notes on a delicate, lightweight frame with barely any perceptible tannin and bright acids. Not a great deal of complexity, but this is all about refreshment and lovely for immediate drinking. (2131 views)
Tasted by Rob and Meg on 12/16/2013 & rated 88 points: Definitely better than our last bottle. Lifted, lively aromas of spiced red berries, violets, and fresh mint. More medium bodied on the palate with cool, crystalline red fruit, asian spice, and potpourri. Ripping acidity and soft tannins characterize the chalky mineral laden finish. Good alone, but better with food. Drink or hold. (1668 views)
Tasted by tooch on 11/26/2013 & rated 87 points: Very juicy fruit. Has the exuberance of Gamay and the cool fruit of pinot. Nice combination. (2101 views)
Tasted by Beerzebub on 11/13/2013: Pleasing, pungent aroma - red berries, earth, mushrooms/ forest floor, and a modicum of oak. Tart and juicy on the palate - sour red fruit, earth, and a bit of fairly well integrated wood with spice and tobacco aspects. Some savoriness. Excellent acidity. Light bodied, refreshing, plenty of character, quite tasty. Looking forward to seeing how this develops. (1701 views)
Tasted by Rob and Meg on 11/9/2013 & rated 87 points: Perfumed aromas of red berries, potpourri, and chalky earth. Light bodied with lifted red berry fruit, subtle spice, and gorgeous florals. Fantastic red berry acidity, orange peel, and light tannins define the finish. Very enjoyable, especially with food. Drink or hold. (1618 views)
Tasted by salil on 10/12/2013 & rated 86 points: Enjoyed over two evenings. Rather high toned and stemmy at first, the acidity sticks out a bit initially and gives it a slightly spritzy feel, but with a lot of air (and on the second night) it comes together very nicely, with fresh red fruits and earth emerging on a gentle, lightweight frame. Burgundy

Les vins de Bourgogne (Bureau interprofessionnel des vins de Bourgogne) (and in English)

Burgundy - The province of eastern France, famous for its red wines produced from Pinot Noir and its whites produced from Chardonnay. (Small of amounts of Gamay and Aligoté are still grown, although these have to be labeled differently.) The most famous part of the region is known as the Cote d'Or (the Golden Slope). It is divided into the Cote de Beaune, south of the town of Beaune (famous principally for its whites), and the Cote de Nuits, North of Beaune (home of the most famous reds). In addition, the Cote Chalonnaise and the Maconnais are important wine growing regions, although historically a clear level (or more) below the Cote d'Or. Also included by some are the regions of Chablis and Auxerrois, farther north.

# 2013 Vintage Notes:
* "2013 is a vintage that 20 years ago would have been a disaster." - Will Lyons
* "low yields and highly variable reds, much better whites." - Bill Nanson
* "Virtually all wines were chaptalised, with a bit of sugar added before fermentation to increase the final alcohol level." - Jancis Robinson

# 2014 Vintage Notes:
"We have not had such splendid harvest weather for many years. This will ensure high quality (fragrant, classy and succulent are words already being used) across the board, up and down the hierarchy and well as consistently from south to north geographically apart from those vineyards ravaged by the hail at the end of June." - Clive Coates

# 2015 Vintage Notes:
"Low yields and warm weather allowed for ample ripeness, small berries and an early harvest. Quality is looking extremely fine, with some people whispering comparisons with the outstanding 2005 vintage. Acid levels in individual wines may be crucial." - Jancis Robinson

# 2017 Vintage Notes:
"Chablis suffered greatly from frost in 2017, resulting in very reduced volumes. As ever, the irony seems to be that what remains is very good quality, as it is in the Côte d’Or. Cooler nights across the region have resulted in higher-than-usual acidity, with good conditions throughout the harvest season allowing for ripe, healthy fruit." - Jancis Robinson

# 2018 Vintage Notes:
"The most successful region for red Burgundy in 2018 was the Côte de Beaune. The weather was ideal in this area, with just enough sunlight and rain to produce perfectly balanced wines naturally." - Vinfolio
