Community Tasting Notes (average 92.8 pts. and median of 94 pts. in 12 notes) - hiding notes with no text

Tasted by MarshallLi on 1/10/2022 & rated 92 points: Last time I had it in a wrong way, quite disppointed. This time I decanted it in a small decanter for around 1 hour. Nose of red plum blue berry maybe a little black cherry jam, very intense spicy a hint of pepper, eucalyptus, eathy, chocolate, well balanced north rhone vintaged style. medium plus acidity, medium plus finish.  Tasted by CheviotCellar on 10/20/2021 & rated 95 points: I understand this is a high rating, but the wine drank that well. The perfect intersection of delicious flavors and full maturity where not one bit of the experience was dulled by age or bottle storage. Every sip of this wine was a home run. This surprised us as we had the 2012 Lady's Lane awhile back, and it was not a favorite. Well, on to the review...

Dark crimson, with browning edges and a black core. Nose has sweet dark fruits, raisin, umami, oregano, lavender, and possibly rosemary. Palate was similar, also showing some black pepper and bubble gum in the medium-long finish. Glorious lift and soft texture, tannins fully integrated.

Other wines drunk for comparison that evening: 2010 Torbreck Struie and 2010 Kilikanoon Oracle. Both drank much more youthful and couldn't compete with the Lady's lane harmony. (761 views)
 Tasted by MarshallLi on 11/15/2020 & rated 89 points: Medium garnet,medium(+) peach,blackberry,black cherry,black pepper,dried fruit,cedar,smoke,tobacco,dry,medium(+) acidity,chalky medium tannin,high alcohol,medium body,medium finish,good wine,suitable for bottle ageing. Not good as I aspected, need decanted hours. (946 views)
Tasted by EricFlash99 on 8/23/2020 & rated 89 points: Already browne red, with some wet leaves, baked red fruit, raw mushroom, hazel, licorice, tobacco, smoked meat and slight white pepper scents. Tannin is already tamed, really high in alcohol but the acidity is not sufficient to balance it. A full body Australian Syrah (not a Shiraz because there's some Rhone Syrah feeling).
The wine is undoubtly declining but not fragile, its structure is intact. Drink now (909 views)
Tasted by damize on 4/19/2020 & rated 92 points: Big bold wine with black pepper - perfect cowboy ribeye compliment (1005 views)
Tasted by MC2 Wines on 11/18/2017: From the land down under - Q4 Wine Club (The Apt): Wine #10: Red currants and umami according to my notes. This wine was much more in a savory vein although the fruit still poked through. Interesting to find out it was a Chapoutier as I can see some Rhone influence. Enjoyable. (9 pennies) (2294 views)
Tasted by pkatz on 7/23/2017 & rated 92 points: As opposed to the other Tournon Australian shiraz bottlings this truly tasted like Australian shiraz as opposed to more Rhone-like. Vanilla, eucalyptus, impeccably balanced and tasty. (1823 views)
Tasted by Zed57 on 5/17/2017 & rated 94 points: I am amazed that it is even better. It is totally in. It's sweet spot and will not get better. Drink up! (1752 views)
Tasted by Zed57 on 3/10/2016 & rated 94 points: Remains fabulous. (2414 views)
Tasted by Zed57 on 2/1/2015 & rated 94 points: Power and sophistication. It is hard not to keep drinking. May still evolve but don't wait. It's too good (2757 views)
Tasted by cjohnson2960 on 6/26/2014 & rated 95 points: A special wine. Decanted about one hour. Rich and earthy, mullti-layered. Loam, mushroom, truffle. Peppery heat and powerful finish. The forest floor/earth element faded over the hour or so we drank the bottle, devolving warm and velvety in the mouth. (2281 views)
