Tasted by MdeCarabas on 2/22/2018 & rated 90 points: Pale gold
Medium body
Mild floral fragrance
Rich mouthfeel, lemons/lemon peel and almonds, mineral, mild fennel
Slightly peppery (1753 views)
Tasted by Shrages on 10/5/2017 & rated 90 points: Very fine. It has a primarily minerally character, but also with substantial lemon, almond, honeysuckle, slate. Really a lot of complexity. Smooth, medium bodied texture. My only minor complaint is a bit too much heat. (1996 views)
Tasted by Tim Heaton on 7/2/2016: A meh wine if if I've ever had one. Coarse fruits, wood, nothing nuanced or notable. Tired already. Pass.

Served non-blind. (3133 views)
Tasted by Leomania on 5/25/2016 & rated 89 points: Always enjoyable. No notes. (2117 views)
Tasted by Leomania on 4/16/2016 & rated 89 points: Still drinking nicely. See previous note. (2168 views)
Tasted by ledocq on 4/4/2016 & rated 90 points: Terrific to drink with chicken and sweet potatoes. (2326 views)
Tasted by David_T on 12/29/2015 & rated 90 points: My last bottle, I just realized I've had three but have yet to write a note! I think the '11 is a bit better but this is still a good qpr. Aromas of yellow apple, quince, pineapple and a hint of neutral oak. The palate matches stride for stride. The oak adds structure without being detracting, overall this has light acidity but noticeable minerals and a medium finish. Refreshing and drinking well now, should last through its 5th birthday. (1984 views)
Tasted by rgawlowski on 12/25/2015 & rated 90 points: Very crisp, flowery, balanced, refreshing. (1755 views)
Tasted by Bowmanifesto on 10/16/2015 & rated 91 points: Everytime I drink this wonderful white Rhône, I kick myself for not buying more. Ouch! (1931 views)
Tasted by Ron Van Holland on 9/29/2015 & rated 91 points: Similar to the 2011: Very nice balance between the tropical and cool-climate fruit, medium acidity, and peach-pit minerality. Comes together in a sustained finish. I like this wine served around 60 F (15.5 C). If it's too cold it obliterates the flavor and complexity. When pairing, think sauvignon blanc with a glimmer of sweetness, so savory or natural-grilled fish, fowl, or rabbit. (1728 views)
Tasted by jonahfactor on 9/13/2015: Starting to show its age. Still blossoms in the nose with citrus intermingled with nutty marzipan. Oranges, grapefruit and apple in the mouth. But starts to lose its grip in mid-palate, and deadens a bit in the finish, suggesting this is past prime. What a ride it has been for a sub $15 offering. That said, it's time to drink up. (1472 views)
Tasted by Leomania on 9/9/2015 & rated 89 points: Nice soft white, pear and tropical notes. Very enjoyable. (948 views)
Tasted by Slaz on 9/9/2015 & rated 90 points: Consistent with prior notes. Reliable, with very little, effectively none, bottle variation over the last few vintages. Great value, especially if you are looking for something other than Napa Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc. (1372 views)
Tasted by rjonwine@gmail.com on 9/5/2015 & rated 86 points: Light lemon yellow color; dried lemon, pear cream nose; tart lemon, mineral palate with medium acidity; medium-plus finish (53% Grenache Blanc, 38% Roussanne, 6% Viognier, 3% Bourboulenc) 86+ points (644 views)
Tasted by Thuis on 8/7/2015: Erg lekker. Mag vaker gedronken worden (1469 views)
Tasted by Bowmanifesto on 6/1/2015 & rated 90 points: Always a delight, always a joy. Drinks like a wine worth many times its price. Pure, satisfying, and almost angelic. (1610 views)
Tasted by Leomania on 5/24/2015 & rated 90 points: Similar to the '11. Like a nice sauv blanc with some tropical notes. Nice weight and balance. (1219 views)
Tasted by Nojomoschwa on 5/20/2015 & rated 90 points: Similar to previous notes, though not quite as good as I remember (fading?). (1450 views)
Tasted by Slaz on 2/23/2015 & rated 90 points: Great blend of Grenache Blanc, Roussanne and Viognier. No excessive oak, good sweetness and fruit on the palate. Enough acidity to pair well with most foods. Finish is short to moderate. Nice daily drinker that has been consistent over the last few vintages, with little bottle variation. Great quality/price ratio. (1750 views)
Tasted by Fat Lips on 2/16/2015 & rated 86 points: A beautiful golden color with melon, green apple, and pear on the nose. The palate offers the same plus mint and tarragon. Low acidity and medium finish. A nice wine but pretty straight forward. (1603 views)
Tasted by kckslk on 2/12/2015 & rated 88 points: Paired nicely with a glazed salmon (1569 views)
Tasted by jonahfactor on 1/31/2015 & rated 92 points: Celebrating H's B-Day at Mistral. The opener to the three-course dinner, delicious as always (both the meal and the wine). Such freshness and balance in this offering from Gassier. Bouquet of field flowers in spring. Around the table different descriptors emerged for the palate -- sweet lemon zest, honeysuckle, honey and roasted nuts. A finish that begs for another sip. Delicious! (1503 views)
Tasted by jonahfactor on 1/10/2015 flawed bottle: Corked. I hate when that happens. (1589 views)
Tasted by Bowmanifesto on 1/9/2015 & rated 90 points: Every time I open a bottle of Nostre Pais Blanc, regardless of vintage, I have the exact same reaction: "Why didn't I buy more of this?" It is an extremely easy-to-drink, palate-pleasing wine, that goes very well with a wide variety of foods, or simply on its own. Compared to my usual preference for dry whites, this wine is on the sweet side. But something about the marriage of the particular four varietals in this blend keeps it from being cloying or over-the-top. Instead, it is invariably highly enjoyable, all for a rock-bottom price. (1482 views)
Tasted by dkstar1 on 11/28/2014 & rated 86 points: i like this wine but it didn't show as well as past vintages or the other bottle I had of this vintage last year. Usually goes perfect with leftover Thanksgiving dinner but didn't hit me the same way this time around. Still enjoyable though. (1633 views)

2012 Michel Gassier Costières-de-Nîmes Nostre Païs Blanc

This cuvée represents our search for elegance, purity and mineral/terroir expression. We’ve chosen the complexity of a blend of four varietals from our most calcareous soils while keeping oak aging to a minimum.
Terroirs: rolled pebbles and loamy sand. AOC Costières de Nîmes.
-- 53% Grenache Blanc, 38% Roussanne, 6% Viognier, 3% Bourboulenc --
Vinification:
o certified organic farming
o selection of parcels of old vines with naturally small yields
o manual harvest with sorting and refrigeration of the grapes
o direct press to preserve the acidity
o partial fermentation in barrels (50% of the volume)
o aging on lees during 8 months
o one single bottling run
Tasting Notes:
o Appearance: the pale yellow color tinted in green announces a wine with
a great deal of freshness and purity
o Nose: the complex nose reveals floral and mineral notes with accents of fresh citrus fruits
o Taste: lively and fresh, the aromas of flowers and white fruits, blends with flint. The very soft finish evinces a great deal of minerality.
Aging Potential : enjoy now or cellar 3 years
Food & Wine Pairing: serve between 50° and 55°F (10° – 12°C)
