| Community Tasting Notes (average 92.1 pts. and median of 92 pts. in 31 notes) - hiding notes with no text | | Tasted by qtsam11 on 12/22/2023: I really wanted to love this, but I just couldn't get there. The bright green apple notes have faded a bit, but are still predominant. Some ginger on the backend. Surprisingly very few autolytic notes, despite the extended less aging and bottle age. On day one, the dosage was evident and the wine was quite singular, in fact it tasted like a BdB from say 2015, no indication of its age or extended less aging. On day two, it rounded out a bit with the apple becoming less dominant and with crystalized ginger and fruits becoming more noticeable. This was someone between the two - I loved that it retained the crisp apple acidity and freshness even with the much longer time on the lees and the more complex brioche and toast flavours. Had a hint of bubblegum too. (1109 views) | | Tasted by sh6k on 11/25/2021 & rated 93 points: Beautiful fruit and clean acid with depth. Finish good but not insanely long like the 2001 Reserve LD. For My tastes learning I’m not a big fan of late discouraged (1075 views) | | Tasted by qtsam11 on 10/25/2020 & rated 91 points: The extra years certainly enhanced this, with extra bread-y and yeast flavors not typically found in the standard Schramsberg BdB. That said, the signature green apple notes remained front and center. I was hoping for a little more from this one, it seemed more like a single vineyard blanc de blancs than a late disgorged. Will give it another year or so before I open the next bottle. (1498 views) | | Tasted by ralstenm on 10/24/2020 & rated 94 points: Deep complex flavors with beautiful acidity! Happy birthday Sharon! (803 views) | | Tasted by Bodyfxr on 10/24/2020 & rated 92 points: Clean, tight and crisp. Showing beautifully at the moment. Matt brought over this bottle for Sharon's birthday. What a treat! This has a lot left in the tank and could go for another 10 years imo. Drink or hold. (893 views) | | Tasted by Wooden duck on 8/25/2020: Perfect balance with some brioche and good acidity (1033 views) | | Tasted by Wino from Michigan on 5/27/2020 & rated 91 points: Solid (962 views) | | Tasted by sh6k on 5/23/2020 & rated 91 points: Crisp acidity but bitter notes (phenolic?) Second day: creamier and bitter notes in check. Maybe suffered only as compared to spectacular Blanc de noirs (676 views) | | Tasted by EpochMD on 3/3/2020 & rated 95 points: Pure crisp apple and a touch of lemon zest - you can taste wonderful baked notes of the time en tirage- enjoyed much more than the Blanc de noirs, wonderful. (1378 views) | | Tasted by Order66 on 2/26/2020 & rated 90 points: Very toasty. Good amount of acid, aromatic. Opened up once the bubbles were gone and showcased lots of ripe apple, honey, white flowers and yeasty notes. I could see it going for another 5-10 years easily. Rock solid for the price and definitely something I should’ve bought more of. (1194 views) | | Only displaying the 25 most recent notes - click to see all notes for this wine... |

Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers.
